Herzog's is big- not Home Depot big- but it's got a lot of what you may need for home repairs. They carry lighting equipment, painting items, a kitchen+ bathroom design dep't, textiles, BBQ accessories, vacuum cleaners, gardening supplies, candles, some clothing- heck, even minimalist jewelry in a glass case, etc. My girl with the glasses in the paint department was smooth and patient. She took her time when we asked her questions about colors and how each color stain would react to raw wood. Service was fine, we left with smiles and was the opposite of everything that's been written here in the past. Whether you're working with a contractor like we are or you're one of those Do-It-Yourselfers, this is your place.

At least they let you linger because they do sell lots of DIY equipment and materials...but with a "DIY mentality," ie find it yourself. I just named a few items- but again, Woodstock Hardware will seriously help you if you're in a jam. As for prices, well.....we paid for convenience. Not complaining. We'll still get those- but now as things have changed for us, we're getting kitchen items, cast-iron skillets, etc to use on weekends when we're in town. The right side of Houst is dedicated to kitchen items such as cutlery, cleaning supplies, pots+pans, serving spoons, welcome mats+other outdoor items. The left side has painting supplies, plumbing products and other DIY projects that need seeing quickly. For bigger home improvements, ask. Price? It's Woodstock. They are a full service dealer of a wide array of products. My story starts with a Fisher Price Power Wheels Barbie Camper that stopped working. My granddaughter was heartbroken and so naturally so were we (grandma and grandpa). Fisher Price stopped making them a couple years ago so no way to replace it. It is in perfect condition except when you stepped on the pedal it simply would not go. We called Fisher Price and they were no help. We tried finding someone to repair it to no avail until we located S&S. We brought it to their store and were met by the nicest, friendliest, most knowledgeable and honest couple who own the business. I felt like I was with my best friends after meeting them. After explaining what was wrong, they said it was possible the gear box was bad, which is common, but would not know until getting inside and checking. If that was the problem, they quoted a repair estimate, and we left. About 15 minutes into our considerably long ride home, they called and said the camper was working perfectly after they tested it with a new battery. They concluded that the original 6 year old battery I had been using was no longer charging sufficiently to make it go! They had the right battery in stock and that was all they charged me for. No fee for looking at it or testing it. Just the charge for the battery which was half of the repair charge they had quoted. They very easily could have said they replaced the gear box and charged me what they had quoted and made extra money on this. But they are wonderful, honest people who are extremely good at what they do, which is provide tremendous, honest and friendly customer service. I am thrilled that my granddaughter and future grandkids will be able to enjoy this toy thanks to S&S. I absolutely 100% recommend them to anyone in need of the services or products they provide. For being as small as the location is they have a LOT of selection.
