The 1st floor has locks for doors, bathroom items, tools, painter's tape, light bulbs, as well as pest control products, even paint swatches and so many other items. The second floor also sticks more hardware items but, you'll also find storage bins, kitchen and bathroom items including liquid hand soap. I just named a few items- but again, Woodstock Hardware will seriously help you if you're in a jam. As for prices, well.....we paid for convenience. Not complaining. The young gentleman who helped tremendously the day we visited was very pleasant and offered excellent advice when we needed it. Plus hubs and I were impressed by how this hardware store is practically a one stop-shop for almost any home situation.

They were able to help me with polyethylene tubing that big box stores weren't able to - they cut me off a piece of tubing so I didn't have to buy 100' when I needed 10'. Friendly service, they took their time. At checkout there were a couple of old head customers to chat with who were also friendly. Reasonable prices. For being as small as the location is they have a LOT of selection.

All of the departments are well kept up, clean, stocked, and the service is beyond great. Sometimes you may need patience with employees if busy and especially some when their experience and knowledge with hardware is limited. Learning together plays a role that all works out with teamwork. Being a regular here builds a wonderful relationship with the staff going beyond the products which I can't emphasize enough, we need more of that. Support local and enjoy it at Davies.

I go way,way back to when this was Trawinski's. It's always convenient to have a full service…read morehardware store nearby. I was thrilled, years ago, when they expanded into a bigger, new location opposite the fairgrounds. Product selection expanded, the store was large, well organized, and brightly lit; parking was easier, and hours of operation extended. Plus they had dogs in the store, which is always a bonus! They also had a full-service paint department so I decided to buy my paint supplies there. Shop local, you know? Unfortunately, their pricing was about 25% higher than I was paying elsewhere. When I mentioned this the owner, Frank, became irritated. I showed him my invoices. He then became angry, not understanding how I was purchasing less for retail than he was paying the franchise, or something along those lines. It was weird. So, I stopped purchasing paints there but did continue buy other supplies. Later, they moved to their present location which continues to have ample parking and easy access, as well as a decent selection of hardware and sundries, to my recall. As a bonus, they carry not only chainsaws, but chainsaw parts and supplies. At the time, the fellow who ran that department, Andy, was great- helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. One day, I needed a couple saw parts which he had in stock; it was his suggestion that I take all that he had, 4 or 5 pieces, and return those I did not need as it would allow his system to automatically re-order. So I did that... Unfortunately, returning the parts was just an awful experience. The cashier at the time, a lady with white/grey hair, could not have been more rude or angry, acting as though I were taking food out of her mouth or committing some sort of fraud by returning the parts as I had been advised to do the previous day. I recall her interrupting a conversation I was having with another customer, an acquaintance of mine, as she began to berate me and demand not only the receipt, which I provided, but also my drivers license to process the return- a purchase of less than $25. I have no idea what makes people think it's acceptable to behave in the manner she did. It truly was a distasteful experience. As a result, I have not entered the store or spent one thin dime there since- though I do purchase thousands of dollars of hardware and supplies, etc. annually. Instead, I chose to patronize another local business which appreciates customers spending their money with them, though it is less convenient for me to do so. Reading through the various reviews here, evidently I am not alone in my experiences.

They do, however, seem motivated to: 1) Get off the phone with you as quickly as possible. 2) Send you to another department before you even finish what you are asking--or say "no," as quickly as possible, regardless of whether they are correct or not. At least they let you linger because they do sell lots of DIY equipment and materials...but with a "DIY mentality," ie find it yourself. Special call out to the Yelper who mentioned being sold a discontinued stain: 100%. Same thing happened with me with a marble sample.

Located at the Kingston Plaza in Kingston, NY, we came here for a color stain for raw pine doors we'd purchased at a door store. Herzog's is big- not Home Depot big- but it's got a lot of what you may need for home repairs. They carry lighting equipment, painting items, a kitchen+ bathroom design dep't, textiles, BBQ accessories, vacuum cleaners, gardening supplies, candles, some clothing- heck, even minimalist jewelry in a glass case, etc. My girl with the glasses in the paint department was smooth and patient. She took her time when we asked her questions about colors and how each color stain would react to raw wood. Service was fine, we left with smiles and was the opposite of everything that's been written here in the past. Whether you're working with a contractor like we are or you're one of those Do-It-Yourselfers, this is your place.
