I recently finished a 1,500 sq ft basement and we were at the Hatfield, PA store constantly for 3 months. First, you can't beat Lowes' return policy. I was able to return unused/unneeded material no questions asked. My wife was at the store a lot picking out carpet, flooring, cabinets, and technical items. She raved to me about how helpful everyone was, in particular the flooring and cabinet department, which at first I attributed to her being an attractive female, but these folks were also helpful towards me. We bought some very expensive cabinets here, they worked completely with my wife on measurements and design and did a fantastic job. These are the cabinets with close-assist hinges, they are gorgeous. The delivery was fantastic, no damage. We also got the carpet here too, a $4,500 carpet job, went very well. The carpet guys did a fine job. I became very frustrated with some pergo-style flooring though. This was the thinnest you can buy, made by Armstrong for Lowes called Swiftlock. The 8mm stuff is really tough to lock. I became so frustrated at first that I was about to return it. I calmed myself down and watched a few more instructional videos and went back to the job and finished it up just fine. take a deep breath... But what was awesome was that I had no worries about bringing back the flooring and getting something else with no risk to me. We went through about 360 pounds of spackle, I consider myself an expert, during one trip to pick up some more a helpful gentleman stopped by who saw me looking and gave me great advise that my burnt-out-working-until-2-am-every-night-self hadn't thought about. I was buying a plant this morning 11:30am and try to check out in the garden center.They had one register open and 12 people waiting to check out. This is high season for gardening and you would think someone would wake up and have at least 2 registers running in order to give better customer service. I ordered paint to be delivered same day and when the paint arrived it was not mixed and not even close to the correct color. The manager, Terron, said he wouldn't send out new paint, wouldn't refund me, wouldn't even give me a got card to repurchase the paint, and the best he could do was a 10 percent discount. Didn't offer a replacement or any solution. In Terron's mind, having a customer pay 90 percent for the cost of paint in the incorrect color was fair. I had to stop my project to clean up, pack up the incorrect paint, and drive to Lowe's all while I had the painting crew at my home (which cost me one hour extra of their hourly rate) because Lowes and Terron are incompetent. Since when is it the customer's job to remedy a situation that the store is responsible for? Anyway, I asked Terron who his boss was and he refused to give me any other contact. When I got to the store I confronted Terron and asked how I would be compensated for my loss of money and time due to his store's negligence. He said he would have someone contact me within 48 hours. We will see if he is full of shit or not. Regardless, I'm out the hourly rate of multiple workers because of them. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place. I would like to think my review is in the minority, however, after reading through the other reviews, it's certainly not unique. This is my local Lowes and sadly a more disappointing experience each time I visit. The customer service is horrible. I've asked for assistance in the past only to told and pointed. It's a rarity to have an actual cashier and the customer service desk is always backed up. My last visit entailed attempting to purchase an electric edger. I found the tool, but no batteries. I was told customer service had them. After waiting for 10 minutes customer service hands me a charger and tells me the batteries are locked up in another part of the store. I go back to wait 15 minutes to have a different specialist unlock the prison bars holding the batteries captive. She waits as I fumble through the batteries trying to find the correct one for my application. I return to the service desk, escorted with said battery to wait 10 more minutes to check out. New story; on another occasion different visit I was attempting to leave the store by exiting a lane, where an employee was stocking front end inventory. Apparently this wasn't an appropriate exit point, she abruptly shut the gate, literally in my face and says " this isn't an exit." In the same exact tone a snotty 13 year old might project. I feel as if this new generation of employees have absolutely no work ethic, motivation, or drive. I wouldn't treat someone on the street, the way some of the employees at this location treat their customers. I've visited this location and had several sad interactions and can now just generalize and accept the fact, I should just lower any and all my expectations. I do my best to use other stores, when possible, even if it results in a further drive and or paying a slightly higher price over all. I've found Ace Hardware, and Tractor Supply are far superior stores to take my buisiness. Giving this buisiness one star is extremely generous. I would give less if I could. read more

I venture to this Lowe's simply for my urban jungle needs. This location has one of the better garden centers in the area and better than HD. Came here to just look for pots tonight and noticed a decent selection of large floor plants for the cheap! Huge Philodendron Hopes in a gallon pot for $14.98. Not bad at all. Left without a new pot since inventory was lacking but I did take home a sad clearance orchid in hopes that it will bloom next year. read more

Disappointing experience. I had a big cart, uploaded with soil and plants that took me already 30 minutes to pick. I placed the cart in the garden center section at the door to the inside section, to grab something from there. Five minutes later, I came back and the cart was gone. Obviously, staff sought this cart was abandoned. Can someone please apply common sense in situations like these? Why would any customer want to go inside with a big cart fully loaded already? Made a return from an online purchase, got in-store credit, and went to purchase Lowes Gift cards but was told I could not use In-Store credit to buy a Lowes Gift card because the system would not let it. I called corporate customer service and they were zero help, and transferred me back to the store after being on a long hold. The store is fine; this review is for Lowes appliance installation services, including use of Nickson as the subbed appliance installer (dishwasher). Do not use. The short version: 1) Installer was late by two hours from original 4 hour window, 2) charged additional amount over and above the installation charge without approval or validity from Lowes, 3) no additional receipt left behind, 4) no followup from Lowes customer service without multiple followups over 3+ weeks, 5) Lowes CS unwilling to validate extra charge, 6) installation was wrong and needed to be fixed by homeowner, 7) installer left trash in yard and water & gas to hot water heater (...why shut that off in the first place for a dishwasher install?) was still shut off after leaving. Will never use Nickson or Lowes installation service again. read more

I love shopping at Lowes, but their telephone communication is awful. I call Willow Grove today and was on hold forever, then disconnected. I called back and had the same experience. So, I tried Hatfield. The young lady who answered was knowledgeable and patient, but had to transfer me to the Pro Desk, where I sat on hold for ten minutes, and was then disconnected. I personally don't have a problem this Lowes. I have never really had a reason to go into Lowes too much, but I did work next door for almost 8 years. The associates I did run into exchanging misplaced shopping carts seemed friendley enough. The only reason I do go into this Lowes is because it is the closest one to where I live and they have the halogen floodlights, the kind of lights I use to illuminate my finished basement (seen below). 12/27/20  I arrive at the low store in Plymouth Meeting at approximately 6:45 a.m. I had the call button in appliances finally around 7 o'clock I go to the customer service people. Where I am asked to meet someone in the hardware all. So I do that this employ was very pleasant although I knew or employee and did not know how to handle the situation together we go back to the customer service desk. This is when they discover that I cannot make this purchase in store I'm the return because I need to bring the hot water heater with me.   I explained that I simply can't get i 50 gallon water heater in my car and even if I could that I don't Know the 1st thing of how to uninstall a gas water heater safely. I am told that I can bring in the plaque unfortunately I can't do that either because it's a sticker that seems to tear when being removed explain this to them.  I'm told they cannot help me that I have to call a phone number when I get home to set up for Install and purchase. I call the number when I get home. This is apparently a phone number for installation of flooring make a not help me.I do some additional search on my end at home and find out there's another number I can call so I call that one.   This time I am told I need to purchase the hot water heater a front and the install and that the installer will know what to do with the hot water heater that is being returned by this point I am skeptical. They send me the documents and I refused to sign it because nowhere on there does it say that the water heater needs to be returned to the store the are main number is also not on the dockusign I call back And I speak to the people again and I tell them that I know for a fact that if I sign this document that this water heater is going to go missing and that I'm not gonna get my refund so I insist 5 times that I need the are a number on the Documents. I further request the day please put on there that the instructions are that the water heater needs to go back to the lowes store in Plymouth meeting. The 2nd time I get the document line it still says that the installer can dispose off the hot water heater. However we have made progress that the RMA number is on the documents . So I signed the documents because I need hot water in my house. 12/28/20  The next morning we get a call my husband goes round and round with the installer they come out the install the hot water heater when they're leaving my husband tells him the RMA and that he needs to take it back to the Plymouth Meeting store at which the installer says I don't know anything about that I can dispose of it for you luckily my husband is smart he does not let the installer take the water heater the installer said I can take it back to the store but you have to come with me. My husband was working and unable to leave so he kept the hot water heater and it stayed in our driveway overnight. When I get home I called the store saying what the heck is happening I was promised that the installer would know what to do with the water heater which is precisely why I wanted that on the documents I am told we will pick it up tomorrow.  At this point I have no faith in anyone in this company to get this water heater back under the army number so I paint with nail Polish on the hot water heater the army number so that even if You are not especially dependable there should be no Room for error. 12/29/20  The hot water heater is picked up success. I call that evening to ensure that it was returned to the store I wonder why I doubt that it was? I am told they will not receive it until the 30th 12/30/20  I call back to ensure that it was returned I am told it was sure enough. Hallelujah I am told I should get my refund within approximately 24 hours. 12/31/20  I call back because they do not see a refund I am told oh know, unless you paid cash you won't see that money for 15 days .  so I think OK I have to be a little patient But, I also request an itemized receipt.  I am told that a customer service person can print a receipt but has no way of getting it to me unless I drive a 1/2 hour for it which I can't do I said can you email it sure I can E mail that tomorrow Morning.great!  Throughout all of thisThe person who was of the most help with Matt at the Plymouth Meeting store. However every other interaction with someone from lows during this week was literal hell!  I would even go so far as to say it makes me question if I roll ever by a major appliance from lows again I may want to drive an extra half hour to get to home depot Just so I don't have to go through this again . I have been in customer service for over 20 years made never given such poor customer service to anyone. I wonder why it costs almost double to have a hot   What are heater installed as it does to by the said water heater,  And yet for double that money the installer doesn't know how return works. Probably the single worst Lowe's in America. And honestly I walk in all big stores with min expectations! Employees are what kills this place. In short they just don't care. I've been here a few times now (I know I hate myself for returning) and it's the same every time. They don't know where things are or who can cut a blind for you. But, I was very disappointed in them today. I tried to buy Scotts crabgrass killer and fertilizer for my lawn to spread next week. I was told, by their customer service, that I could not order it online to pick it up at the Customer Service desk. They said it was non-essential and I had to come into the store to buy it. This is not a good policy to have to prevent a spread of Covid-19! I, in turn, ordered it from Home Depot online and they allowed me to pick it up at their CS desk. Why would Home Depot allow this and not Lowes? It seems ridiculous. Anyway, Lowes lost a $70 purchase today and I may be using Home Depot more often, even though it is 3 times as far away from my home. I hope a lesson will be learned here by Lowes! read more

Scammers. They sure know how to try and scam you out of money when you try to return the junk they sell. Last year I bought my husband a lawn mower. It had already been returned by a customer because of a problem (that's why it was being sold without a box) but Lowe's assured me it was fixed and the price for it couldn't be beat so I fell for it. I did however by the warranty with it. It gave my husband issues from the start last summer. He put up with it for awhile but finally had enough. So he took it back and they said they would exchange it for another one. Now follow me here... the only way they could do that was to give him merchandise credit and he could buy a new one. At the time didn't seem like that was an issue. No sooner did spring this year roll around and he mows once or twice with it and the bolts that hold the new piece of junk together just start falling out. He takes it in for repair, which takes soooo long it's ridiculous. Come to find out if the incompetent employees at Lowe's quote you a price for the repair and they are wrong, you are responsible to pay the difference of the repair. So any joe smith, knowing nothing about lawn mowers, can say it will be this much, and he can be $100 off, and even with your warranty, you will be responsible for that $100. ??????????? My husband had them sign an agreement when he heard of this stupid loophole that we would not be responsible for any difference. *******So read your warranty paperwork thoroughly before buying it from Lowe's. ********Anyway, we get our lawnmower back eventually and within 5 minutes of my husband mowing it stalls. That was never the problem before. So we got it back with a bigger problem. It seems after the repaired all the bolts that had fallen out of this piece of junk and used it to test it, they emptied the gas tank but didn't empty the carburetor. And these are mechanics? So after gas sat in the carburetor for who knows how long and my husband started it up... look what happened. We have a 15 year old piece of crap lawn mower sitting here that runs because the gas is burned off the carburetor before it is turned off, but attempted to have a nice new lawn mower and the Lowe's "mechanics" destroyed that. So at this point we just want our money back. They are obviously incompetent. Since I purchased it on my card I go in with all the paperwork and guess what.... since this particular mower was purchased with merchandise credit that's the only way they could refund me. Uhhhh NO. I bought the original mower with MY money. You insisted the only way to exchange mowers was to issue merchandise credit and buy a new one. I have both receipts. Nice SCAM you have going there. I will not ever spend money here again and will not accept merchandise credit when I used my money to buy the mower. It took some language I'm not proud of, and a scene, but someone on a camera somewhere was watching because after the manager Evan told me 15 times there was nobody that could give me my money back, not even cooperate, someone called him on the phone (I watched him on the phone) and he comes back and tells me he is giving me cash back. Not even putting it on my card. Just cash. So Evan is a liar to boot. There was someone that could do something about it. But of course I was out the $80 I spent on the warranty. Why? I used your warranty and in that process you broke my mower. You ruined the carburetor. Because your "mechanics" don't know what they are doing. So why am I out $80? I left before I got myself in any trouble because I was so angry, but cooperate is going to hear from me because I want my $80. Lowe's is at fault for the mower being ruined. None of this would have happened if their "mechanics" knew what they were doing. Long story short, their warranty has loopholes, read it. They are scammers. Their managers are liars. They sell junk. Had I not stood up for myself I would have been stuck with merchandise credit to a store I will never step foot in again. Why? Because their merchandise credit now requires ID to use it. So I couldn't have given it or sold it to anyone.... why do they care who uses it? It's still being used. What does it matter to you? You just want people to be stuck shopping at your POS store instead of Home Depot. read more

I'm here all the time. Not the handiest guy in the world, but as a new home owner, I'm trying to learn to be. Lowe's is my go-to for all my home improvement needs. Store is huge, has a great selection of options for most things I'm looking for, has solid (maybe not always the best) prices, and offer great deals that I learn about in weekly mailings, like 1.99 Christmas lights! The staff is usually helpful, but there are the few employees that always seem like their avoiding costumers. Returns have been very easy. Very happy to have this Lowe's within a few miles and I expect to be in and out of there on a regular basis for years to come. read more

My only experience here was to help my Mom return a mailbox that didn't work for the post she bought and to find one that will. First stop was customer service to return the mailbox that didn't work. We then said we needed help picking a new one and was told someone would be over. We waited a bit, but no one showed up. We saw employees come by helping others, but not us. We finally tracked someone down to help us, who did the best he could, but he didn't have much experience with the particular post my Mom had selected. We ended up buying two different types of mailboxes, and fortunately, her first choice ended up working and she simply returned the other one. read more

Several positive experiences have led me to continue to go back to Lowes. The staff is helpful and I've been given solid advice on home improvement jobs (i.e. treating our deck). We have also purchased our patio furniture from Lowes at a great price and for about $25 were able to rent their truck to deliver the furniture to our house. For some reason I feel Lowes is set up more for the average person, as opposed to the other big box home and garden store that shall remain nameless. That being said, I've been to other Lowes stores and found rude staff. So time will tell about this particular Lowes. read more

I have had an absolutely horrible experience with Lowe's! I ordered storm doors almost a month ago and Lowes gave us the wrong parts for the doors. It is taking several weeks for the rest of the parts for the doors that we already paid for to come in. We bought the doors from a retail store in Montgomeryville Pennsylvania and I've spoken to the store manager who's name is AJ several times about this. AJ has been extremely rude and unprofessional to us and told us that our $500 purchase is not worth Lowe's expediting the parts faster. AJ threatened us if we called corporate and told us that corporate would do nothing for us except pass the message along back to him. Well he was right! We have talk to corporate several times and was promised by several supervisors that the regional manager will contact me to give us some type of compensation for the issues that we've been having. I have never ever received a call from any supervisor or regional manager from Lowe's that was promised. Lowes has our money and we do not have doors and we do not have anyone from the Montgomeryville store apologizing to us or trying to solve our situation. I strongly recommend that no one ever buy products from Lowe's if they are improving their home buying, a new homeowner, or selling their house because if there's a problem corporate does not have your back and does not care about you. It's more than obvious that the employees of Lowes have no idea how to do their job except on how to take your money. This is absolutely the worst possible company to buy anything from. I walked around for 40 minutes up and down the aisles looking for help in storage items. Every CSR I found was from a different department, and couldn't help me. I was informed that someone was over in that department and to find them. I looked for another 20 minutes. While I was looking, I called the local Home Depot and someone helped me find a similar product, and I left and purchased it there. I placed an order online, and received the items broken. There was absolutely no packaging included in the box- it was fragile products packed with a hammer. After sitting on the phone for 20 minutes, yes 20 minutes, they can't even confirm to me when we are getting replacements! To sum up: Unless you are asking for a headache, don't go to Lowe's! We had our master bath remodeled thru Lowe's. We were lucky enough to get "Team Steve". Everyone who came to our home took care, each and every day, to leave things as neat as possible. They were all kind and courteous, and helped us thru what could have been a very difficult and disruptive process. Special thanks to Phil, who helped me envision things a bit better, and was so patient. Steve and Isaac were both wonderful to work with. Steve also was very patient with me, especially with placement of the handicap grab bars. Everyone, starting with Amy Jo, was a pleasure to work with. Kitchen remodel major renovation! I cannot say enough good things about the designer, Amy, and the contractor, Steve. Absolutely awesome! However, customer service at Lowes another subject. Always put on hold, never any true answers. Spent over $40,000 on a new kitchen, so happy with the result thanks to Amy and Steve. Couple of issues including one with new electric, had problems shortly after install that were promptly fixed. Now that it has been several months over a year (warranty) electric issues again. Call to Lowes on a Sunday after waking up to no electric, I am told they cannot help me since it is over a year! Asked to speak to manager, told no manager on duty. Really?! No manager?! Told I would have to pay for electrician for their faulty install! Contacted contractor who promptly fixed the problem! Steve is beyond awesome! So, kudos to designer and contractor, beware customer service, no help at all. Be prepared to be frustrated but ask for Amy and Steve to outweigh customer service! read more

Yea. HORRIBLE service on delivery. We bought a John Deere Tractor before Memorial Day, and we got a call it was coming the next day. We waited all day. No delivery. We are still waiting two weeks later, and it's SUPPOSED to come tomorrow. No call. I had to call, finally, tonight and she says, "O, it was PDI a long time ago. It should have been delivered." Manager told me it hadn't been approved (PDI) by John Deere, and so we had to wait another week. When you have grass a foot high by now, and an old tractor you have to jump the freakin battery every time to start it, it's enough already. Just go to Littles' John Deere Supplier. My boyfriend and I just moved to lansdale in June. We both moved here for work and have no family or friends nearby to help us. Last week we purchased two brown adironack chairs and melissa kettner was very friendly and helpful and strong for that matter and helped us with unchaining the locks and lifting them into our car. Tonight we went in for a 4th of July grill special and we asked a young man if we could purchase the last grill on the floor left. He said that we could take it to the front and he would go grab tools and help us fit it into our car. Before we even paid he was out there waiting to help. His name was Christian Hernandez and we found out he was also a marine that served our country. He definitely showed the highest level of class and customer service. Without having friends or family nearby they were beyond helpful and I can not even believe the level of welcomness to the community we felt from just our experience at Lowe's this week. Extremely bad experience with a window/door install. Jim Frat is the guy who has every excuse in the book to cancel appointments. He told us we were going to get a comp window for our troubles, cc'd a manager in on the email and then when I reminded him about it, said he couldn't do that. I had an estimate done on all the remaining windows and doors in my house to be replaced (they had already done windows previously). Estimate was done in August and I still do not have completed estimates. When he gave me a partial estimate, he quoted me for top of the line windows, WHY!? If you don't mind chasing him down for follow up, then go with this guy at Lowes. I should have learned from my first experience with him as I had to chase him then too! Seems Jim is so busy with appointments he doesn't have time to give to smaller jobs. If you want personalized attention, follow through and good customer service, I highly recommend Home Depot! I sent a complaint email to them and got no response which goes to show you that my job was not important. read more
