Before purchasing my kitchen cabinets from Lowes I got pricing from a well know cabinet manufacturer and Norfolk Kitchen cabinets. I was shocked by the pricing. I was renovating an entire house so I had a defined budget I had to stay within for the kitchen. My contractor recommended I go to Lowes. I worked with Norma and within one meeting we had a draft plan and the cost was 50% less than the other estimates. The cabinets were installed by my contractor and look great! I went to Granite Shop in Everett for my counter tops (I will travel for a bargin!). Just be aware that you will need to work with the cabinet manufacturer if you have questions on your shipment, Lowes does not hold your hand. read more

I am very handy and have an old house. This equates to needing lots of home improvement stuff. I am equal distance to Lowes and Home Depot. I usually chose Lowes as their staff are always much more friendly and to me this matters. read more

well I have been buying everything need it for my house from lowe's in Framingham the people who help me are very nice and knowledagble but I had problem with installation of my slider and this was the installer inexperance and toke lowe's 3 slider s air leak but still 1 more problem which when is cold water collect in the bottom track so I back at lowe's see what they can do to fix the problem I think the slider need drain whole any way the been very helpful and they did what they can do to fix the problem but if you see 1 star is for the installation peoples experance which is none and the people who work at the window and door are very nice and helpful. well after one year finally my slider is fix and the Tec came from the ji wid window and correct the problem now everything is fine the cashes at door and window is great guy also brat is nice guy and smiley Michel is very good and help full . read more

Bought a patio set here. They offered delivery so we scheduled it. The delivery was scheduled for 10-12am; then moved to 1-3pm; then moved to 3-5pm. Called the store and response was "we do not know why it is late." They gave me a number for the delivery company that I waited on hold for 30 mins with no answer. I would recommend not using their delivery services and will avoid this store in the future (especially since Home Depot is right next door.) read more

Purchased a washer/dryer combo that proved to be defective. Lowes was a no-show for the agreed exchange date after I had arranged to miss work that day. I cancelled the entire order and returned the items. 5 weeks later and Lowes has not refunded my money. Seems dishonest. read more

Failure on so many levels. Third problem I've had with this store. Here's my current story. Went there Sunday October 6th at 9:00 to get three or four items for a small plumbing job. I get to the self check out and standing there is a 20 something, 6'2, 350lb worker who is leaning against the counter like he is waiting for the bus. I notice there are not any bags at checkout so I ask "do you have any bags?" and he/it simply says "no" (I will now call him the Unit). I start scanning my items and the first item will not scan. I try like six times to no avail. The "Unit" does not move or blink. For the record, there is nobody else at the self checkout. I try another item. The system locks up. I tell the Unit he needs to help out. The Unit unwillingly waddles over and says "this is all you have to do" and tries something. It doesn't work for him either - this guy is a doofus!! He blunders his way through his employee code and restarts the system - then just walks away. I proceed and everything works this time. I gather my items and walk away, neither of us say anything ....... this guy is useless. I get home and log my complaint on the Lowe's Customer Service site. Several days later, no response so I call. The attendant says she will have the store manager contact me. On October 9th Alexis emails me trying to justify the situation and mentions she will be sending me a gift card for my "hassles" and that I will receive it in 2-3 days. October 20th still had not seen the card so I email Alexis. She is perplexed but says she will get to the bottom of it and contact me in a day or two. Well, I never hear from her so on October 25th I contact Customer Service again. Customer service says they will elevate the complaint. So again Alexis contacts me and asks "you haven't received the card yet?" - Ummmmm ... no Alexis, I cant receive a card that you never sent !!! On October 29th (for the last time and for the fun of it ) I call Customer Service and remind them of their failures. They are now going to "elevate it to the highest level hahaha - wow these guys are good!! Whatever, today is October 31 - I'm done with Lowe's - incompetence has run a muck. I will now only go to Home Depot. I've been using them for decades and only had one situation and that was handled promptly and professionally. read more

So frustrated with how hard it is to get the appliances I purchased delivered and installed. Impossible to get anyone on the phone.

This concerns home contractor services for replacementt windows, and in particular, to the estimator Jim R., who writes up the initial job. Boy is the store basically a window awning compared to the autonomy of the intstall estimate/write up. They were quick to come out and measure, but waited over 10 days before my repeat requests for updates had them telling me no stock sizes worked in my openings...then another week or two to come up with vinyl as a last resort, though Pella is far better than what H.D offers as non-wood, if they offer at all. WIndow replacement is as tacky and crass a business as used car Caddy salesmen on mini golf tourneys....it never fails to amaze me that once I fell into the "hole" of buying vinyl, all of a sudden everything fit. The installer, Charles, was also MIA except for one visit and then about a month later when parts in stock, for scheduling (which chenaged 3x b/c they weren't planning for winter storms=not their fault on that). Basically the store has next to nothing to keep informed in the interim waiting period-other than the installer/estimator's phone #'s. Those proved dead as nails, so remember, if you have questionsa at any point, you're going to have to call the nat'l "scheduling" number, or better, the C.E.C dep't (which I guess is customer eval. coordination, though I could have found the number for Chuck E. Cheese more readily). It seems the subscontractor (estimator and installer) are deliberately told to keep off the phone except when actually making deals (the former) or bringing glass in on wheels (the latter). It is tough for me to give a better grade, but if I could have a separate star for just the installer's on site work, he would get 5 of em' (though I did notice he was a true contractor, with his crew all over, and he frequently on phone)). The work is good (and about 5 grand less than anything from Anderson Home Depot, Anderson tv install sales, etc. I've read of nightmares or lugibrious praise heaped on those companies, so its the nature of the business, the "sell customers then into the woodwork" blues! read more

Awful,Awful,Awful!!! Would never do business with them again. Bought windows for our bedroom. Installed I believe 9/30/17. They came they left, windows do not lock. And if you try to lock them you still can open them. Called customer care 888 number they gave me a number for the Framingham store. The woman in Framingham gave me a number for the guy that is handling our claim. Supposedly he put in a work order, but no one called to tell us. I tried calling this guy and his mail box is full. Well long story short it is now October 26th and still we have heard nothing!!! Went into the store last Saturday and spoke with a manager and he said that someone would be contacting us soon. I have never had such poor customer service in my life. Horrible!!!! read more

I don't know what has happened here. The service has become non existent. It is so hard to find anyone to help you, and when you do they don't know more than to read the box to answer your question. I've bought a couple appliances here but when I went today (it was dead) to buy a washer and dryer (so $1500+ purchase) one guy was yaking on the phone for ten minutes. Couldn't even acknowledge me or page someone else. I went back to look for someone in appliances to help me 10 minutes later and I still couldn't find anyone. So I left and went to Home Depot where they were very attentive. Customer service really needs to be worked on as it has gone down tremendously over the past year. read more

Four stars for this? Apparently people bothering to post reviews here like to pat their egos that they had made a good choice w. Lowe's. No, I don't think so! Absentee specialists for every department except cashiers. Managers who do not respond to e mails, even when routed through Lowes Corporate Cust. serv. Continuously out of stock of common line brand items in inside/outside garden, e.g tree fertilizers, wood stove pellets. Self-centered kitchen "design" center staff who spend as much time on personal calls while customers wait as they do grandstanding on "leads" on phone. Minority employee emphasis-a good thing-with inadequate English speaking or common logic, e.g I asked the self-service checkout attendant to take an item I didn't want, telling him I paid...he just tossed it in a return to stock pile-I actually had to get him and point to the line item on screen to get him to understand that I actually DIDN"T WANT TO PAY $20 for the item now that he'd returned it!! I wish they had the overall attention to customer service, stock control and variety that could be serious competion to Home Depot, but I'm afraid they are no more than a Terradactyl of hardware/home supply to H.D's brontosaurus! Both of them are going to be munched by the internet at some point, as they are even more uncompetitive price wise than Ebay/Amazon in most cases. Somebody 'start-up" a better site, and they will come! read more

Home installation is a disaster! Multiple instances of problems with ordering, pickup and delivery. Too many people involved and nobody knows what the last person told you. Purchasing products at this store is fine but I would never have anything installed again. read more

I will never order something for delivery from Lowes again. They have wasted so much of my time. I'm renovating a house and 3 out of 5 of the orders I made are a disaster. I've waited 6 weeks for a refrigerator I ordered online- with the date being pushed out three times. I was assured last night that it would be delivered between 1:30 and 3:30 today. As of 5pm, no delivery and they can't tell me whether it is coming. In a separate order at the store, I ordered a gas dryer. It was backordered, date was pushed out and that was supposed to show up today too. Ordered 2 toilets that were supposed to be delivered within a week. After waiting a week, no info sent to me, so I called. After a half hour on the phone, cust service determined that the estimated delivery would be 2 months from now. Ive cancelled that one. There is no connection between the online system, the store system, and the delivery company. Cust service people have been friendly and tried to be helpful but they have no idea what is actually going on with my orders. Also difficult that they can't provide a 2-hour delivery window until 9pm the night before. read more

I think Lowes is so much better than Home Depot the products are very similar as well as the prices but the main difference is the employees. Several times the employees have helped me load sheet rock when I was alone something Home Depot never does. The people make a difference and the store is neat and clean. read more

After an unfortunate experience at the Dedham Lowe's, I thought that all Lowe's were bad. However, this location redeemed the chain store. It's much nicer than the Dedham location, and also much nicer than your average Home Depot. With friendlier and helpful employees, a clean and intuitively laid out store, and a large garden section, it's almost worth trekking to Framingham from Newton (as opposed to going to Waltham or Watertown's Home Depots). read more

My wife and I purchased a home in April and for the first 2 months I visited Lowe's every week for DIY items and new appliances. The reason I choose Lowe's over Home Depot even though it's closer is because of the outstanding customer service at Lowe's. I always get the help I need at Lowe's, where employees ask if I need help finding something. At Home Depot I feel like the employees avoid me instead and try to look busy. Trust me, it's a pain to try to find 1 item in a giant warehouse store with no help so I appreciate the Lowe's employees for trying to help out. My most recent experience at Lowe's is what prompted me to write this review. I purchased a brand new Bosch dishwasher at this store. Their plumber came to install the dishwasher and I was happy with the installation experience. My wife came home that night and noticed a dent on the door. The dishwasher is stainless steel so a dent is a real eye sore. I called the Lowe's installation department and they sent the plumber out to replace the dishwasher at no charge. The plumber said that he wasn't surprised there was a dent on the dishwasher considering how poorly Bosch packages their dishwashers. I saw the packaging when the replacement dishwasher arrived. Bosch just pads the corners - no padding on the front or sides. It can be easily dented during transport to and from the warehouse. It's a shame because Bosch makes such high quality appliances. Anyway, I was a very satisfied customer because the issue was addressed so quickly and they didn't try to pin things on me or offer something like $50 back for the dent like another appliance store would. I would have had to look at the dent every day for the next 10 years. I'm so glad I purchased at Lowe's. Their install department also called the next couple of days just to make sure I was a satisfied customer. They even called a couple of times to make sure the plumber had contacted me to schedule an appointment. They extended the same courtesy before when I purchased a new water heater there. This was a prime example of customer service at its best. I'm a loyal Lowe's customer now. read more

I had a really hard time finding any help. When I did the person was nice but not very helpful and directed me toward the most expensive product, rather than listening to my needs. Additionally I couldn't find a relatively common piece of hardware. Finally, no one offered to help me to my car even with heavy pieces of cut lumber. read more

I contracted with Lowes Framingham in June 2015 for a complete kitchen remodel. This project has been a disaster from the start. The people at Lowes and their general contractor Capstone General contracting out of Worcester are clueless and incompetent. It is now May 2016 and the project is not finished correctly. They have been back several times to try and correct the shoddy workmanship with little success. No one from Lowes has even bothered to come to the house and see the lousy work. The only reason I give them one star is because you can't go lower than that. The salesman from Lowes talks a good game but after he gets all your money up front good luck getting any support. He plays stupid. I will never purchase anything from Lowes again. Be forewarned you will get burned if you do business with them. read more

This is a pretty organized store. I would point out Ed from the plumbing department as being an extremely helpful person. Talking with him to decided what to do is like chatting with a friend. Lowes installer just finished installing the glass enclosure that was ordered 8 weeks ago. But what a deal only $1000, more than two other quotes. This was a Lowe's installation project that still is not done two months later. Besides being gouged on the shower enclosure they charged more than list price for the bathtub we could have bought for $200 less. Everything else was list price or above. Over $100 for three gallons of paint. I would not have Lowes's installation services build a dog house. read more

I went to Lowes on a Saturday morning 2/4/2017 to get a quote for a new fence. I came prepared with a diagram of my yard. As soon as I walked in I was asked can I help you with anything, I said yes, I need a quote for a fence. They had me fill out a form and promised that I would be contacted within 24 hours. Being that it was a weekend I gave them until Monday afternoon 2/6/2017 to contact me. When I didn't hear from them I called the store, I got disconnected on the first 2 calls and the third I was transferred to kitchen cabinets and then got disconnected. That evening I called the Sales and installation department at their corporate offices and told them my story. Her first reply was that it usually takes 48 hours to hear back about an installation and that if I didn't hear from anyone by the next day to call her back. My response to her was, it takes a store visit, 5 phone calls and 4 days just to talk with someone to set up an appointment to get a quote. After being on hold for more than a half an hour I was finally transferred to someone at the store who could set up the appointment. The appointment was set for Thursday afternoon 2/9/17. I did get a call from the installer on Wednesday, saying he probably wouldn't make the appointment because of the incoming storm, but would come Friday instead. I called him Friday morning and left a message, to see what time he would be coming and have not heard back from or Lowes yet. This is some of the worst customer service I've had to deal with in a long time. read more
