    Disappointment

I don't even want to give them one star. How is this place still in business? How do you deliver something you know is damaged it's a waste of people's time money and effort how about sending a good product verifying it's in good shape and in new condition? I won't be buying trash bags from Lowe's anymore.#lowesblowes

Upgrading my review to 5 stars based on my recent refrigerator purchase. From reading my reviews most of you have probably figured out I'm a bit of a cheapie. I can't stand paying full price for anything. I've been in need of a new fridge for a while, especially after Massachusetts canceled tax free weekend last year. When they cancelled TFW this year, I could not live another year with a leaky ice maker. So off I went to Lowes for their 4th of July appliance sale. Sales people were great. Encouraged me to walk around opening doors and drawers. Then helped explain the pros and cons of the models I liked. Then let us know that the sale was extended - so I didn't have to rush home and measure my kitchen to see if we could accommodate the extra inch in size. Especially since I was getting on a plane the next day. 10 days later we ordered the fridge. Got to pick our delivery day and our time preference- morning, afternoon or evening. Got the call last night that we would get delivery this morning - just like we wanted. The delivery guys were great. Fast. Professional. Respectable. Spoke English. Gave me time to clean the floor and walls after they pulled the old refrigerator out. It was a much better experience than when we purchased a dishwasher from a high end appliance store 2 years ago. ***************************** It is obvious to compare this Lowes to the HD a mile down Rt 30. Lowes I've found to have more knowledgeable staff, more helpful employees, cashiers available (so you don't have to do self checkout). I've had better luck finding light fixtures and cabinet hardware. They have a nice garden department with fabulous sales. I'll take this place over HD any day.

I signed up for a kids craft event that was featured on their website with some other dads and our kids. We showed up on time, e-mail confirmation in hand, and no one there had any idea what we were talking about. Fortunately they had some old kits to give us, but refused to let us build them in the store. Poor experience for the kids. Completely disorganized and a waste of time. Sign ups are on their website for next month's craft, but I would not recommend.

Good selection, good location and good people plus I get a veterans discount. And I have to add a few more pointless words.

I would point out Ed from the plumbing department as being an extremely helpful person.

Found the staff at Robinson very helpful and informative. Can't wait to go back…read more I love having a neighborhood hardware store.

Colossal waste of time and energy to visit an dying store with surly staff in a sad strip mall…read more I hoped to rent a commercial-sized dehumidifier to dry my basement. Another rental place suggested Robinson's so I called. The person who answered the phone told me they had one available. I replied I was on my way. The parking lot was nearly empty. As I approached the front door, I noticed a sign saying "Please Push door." Odd, but whatever. So much for handicapped accessibility. I walked past plenty of clean, well-stocked shelves and thought, "this place is huge." I made my way to the rental counter in the back where I encountered a guy fixing a machine. I inquired about renting a dehumidifier and was told "it was out." Then his interrogation began. "Did you call?" "Yes." "Did you call this store or my store in Hudson?" "This one." I'd only called 30 minutes before. I don't have a photographic memory but I certainly remembered which location I called. "What number did you call?" "508-881-... "Who did you speak to?" "I don't know." The person didn't offer their name. "Well you'd better find out...We only have one and it's out." Really? I understand mistakes happen. I spent enough time in customer service roles myself to realize that the customer is not "always right," but to repeatedly insinuate that a customer is somehow to blame for his staff's laziness or negligence is rude, condescending, and unacceptable. The guy seemed like a typical boomer who was too insecure to admit that he or his staff had made a mistake, let alone apologize to a potential customer. Normally I'd ask when they'd expect their equipment to be returned, but I'd had enough of their attitude. On my way out, their exit door had a sign saying, "Push," so I asked the sullen young man standing behind the register if they were, "too cheap to fix their automatic doors?" "They're $20,000 a piece to fix." Hard to believe this place has been in business since 1874, especially with their rotten attitude.
