My problem with coming in to this Lowe's is I leave with more projects to do than I came in with. I came in with my husband and toddler and we decided last second that we needed to buy new stair treads and risers. I forget what we actually came in for. While in the doorknob and lock aisle one of the sales associate noticed the stack of stair risers, stopped, and talked to us about stain options versus painting, asked about our project and gave us his insight. I was trying to get a part for my gas range. I called this store multiple times and no one ever picked up the phone after the annoying AI intro. I decided to drive to this store after work. I talked to the lady at the front desk and showed her my original paperwork for my stove that I had purchased from Lowe's. She said, oh this isn't the part number even after I mentioned what part I needed for the stove .The part number listed on my packet work was for the stove! Common sense! Then she told me to go back to the appliance section where Caitlin was still working. So I went to the appliance department and thought I saw someone. I said oh, do you work in appliances? No response. I went to the area (flooring) and I see Caitlin and another employee just chatting away. They didn't ask me how I could be helped! I spoke to Caitlin and showed her my original paperwork for my stove and let her know I needed a part (cooktop) for it. She said oh this isn't the right part number. (Same response as customer service.) I took my paperwork and said, I will just order it from Amazon. We have purchased all of our appliances many other items for our remodel totaling a lot of money from Lowe's and we are paying customers. Common courtesy and common sense would have been to look up the part number correlated to my stove instead of saying oh, that's not the right part number. Caitlin and the front desk person are sacking lacking in any customer service skills! read more

Lowes refused to allow me to return an item that i had purchased the day before, with a receipt. The item is not specifically disallowed on their website, like circuit breakers and wiring, etc. Ultimately I received a refund, but I had to get nasty. ( oh joy) I left feeling unappreciated as a customer. read more

P.S. The installers NEVER. SHOWED. No phone call. Nothing. We cannot and will not recommend this store (Tikahtnu) for appliance purchases mainly due to their godawful, incredibly disorganized installation timing. To be given a 12 hour window by Jon in person, which is ridiculous but certainly not his fault as he is told to say such a thing, then a 4 hour window in an email sent to us, then a promise by the installer to accommodate our request when asking for a somewhat more precise time, then not following through is inexcusable. We asked Ben with Platinum Express Installations to arrive at a similar time as he did initially to install a washer after he had installed the dryer. The washer installation required plumbing work, which we took care of. Ben said yes, of course, but then did not show up as promised. If it were not possible he should have let us know this instead of basically lying to us. It has been 12 days now since we have not had a washing machine. Waiting at home when we need to rest right now, with still no washer installed, and no phone call is the most appalling customer service we have ever experienced since purchasing appliances in Anchorage in all of our 50+ years of residence here. Jon in the appliance center was personable and did his best to help us, even though the process with signing up after making a $1600 purchase was very tedious. He was covering the counter in the appliance center solo, with customers stacked up. He got ZERO help from ANY Lowe's associates who were standing around nearby. Our next appliance purchase will most definitely NOT be with Lowes, after what we have been through. And it isn't over yet, because we are still waiting to have our washer installed and we have not had any sleep. read more

We shop at Lowe's a lot, and for the last four years, probably more than the average homeowner. Having done a complete remodel on our home in Anchorage, build a new home and a shop this summer. I feel like I should own stock sometimes. This is our most frequented store due to location convenience, however we have found that we need to make a trip to the Tudor store pretty regularly too, due to items being out of stock. That's pretty frustrating at times. The customer service has its ups and downs. Sometimes it's been fantastic, five stars and others, completely appalling. I've had awesome assistance with a couple guys getting big boxes off high shelves, tracking down the last of an item that says there is one left in inventory and the like. Other times, condescending, like my first review about cashier named Dawn, others that don't say a word to you until the total amount is on the register. We do appreciate the veteran recognition and don't take it for granted. The MyLowes app has been helpful with many things, however somehow we ended up with two numbers and it's a bit of a mess. The purchase online and pickup in-store has worked beautifully in the past, especially when I needed big bags of soil, concrete and the like and it's ready on a cart for me and they assist with loading it in my truck. The new downside, they no longer allow the military discount for online purchases nor in-store pickup. Ups and downs, but we still shop there. read more

Even more amazing is that he did it within 60 seconds. There was one piece they didn't carry, and they even recommended a local competitor to see if they might have it. This Lowe's will forever be our go-to home improvement store because of the service. They hire expert handy men and women to help you learn the skills your family might not have passed down to you. They confirmed delivery the day before and never showed. No call or email or nothing. It's nearly impossible to get someone on the phone that will help you. They just want to transfer you and it never goes anywhere. After being transferred nowhere 3 times customer service eventually told me they would have a manager call me when they aren't as busy. I ordered same day delivery and paid the extra fee to do so at 10:00am and was informed later that day I would get it the next day because they operate on Eastern time zone with a 2:00pm cutoff for orders. Ordered a snowblower and was given a estimated pickup date of Dec 28th. Just got off the phone with customer service they had gotten 15 of the same snowblowers in but the only way I could pick it up was if I cancelled my order and created a new one. They then tracked the original order and I was told that the delivery date was January 12th. I dont understand why they received a shipment for inventory but didn't fulfill outstanding orders. read more

Lowes sucks! They no longer offer a military discount on appliances and only have a 48 hour return policy which includes missing parts. I placed an on line order which was easy to do . Lowes has a a great website that is very user friendly . I was able to find out which store in the Anchorage area had the item I wanted purchase it and even set up the delivery date . I decided to drive to the store to double check . They didn't have the item , But Rubi , associate that helped me , was so capable and competent that I still felt good even though I left the store without my washer . This Lowe's does a beautiful spring product area - you can smell the fresh soil and bright flowers. They have everything a backyard gardener would every dream of and it is laid out in neat rows. Why four stars instead of five? Lowe's suffers from the same problem as all big warehouse stores - too much area with too few staff. Their staff are great when you can snag one. read more

I made a return, so I didn't have the receipt to complete the Lowe's survey, but I made a promise to say great things about an employee named "Al" who helped me out. He saw the project I was gathering supplies for (removing a garbage disposal and replacing it with just the PVC plumbing), and took the time to look at the under-sink reference photos I had taken, explain the difference between piping material, and gave me information about how to clear debris from the garbage disposal using an allen wrench at the bottom, and/or how to install the new PVC pipes. Told jokes along the way and provided information with a smile. I appreciate Lowe's for employing people with years of plumbing/electrical/carpentry experience. Thank's for the help, Al! read more

Extremely dissatisfied with Lowe's appliance delivery/install, or rather lack of install. While sales person was quick to add in items needed for Lowe's to install my dishwasher, he completely neglected to tell me that Lowes does not install, I only found out when delivery was made. And am now advised that cost to install is $180. We managed to install it, but it won't drain. Lowe's remedy? Pay $180 installation fee. Poor customer service. Update: After contacting the corporate office, Lowe's sent an installer out and dishwasher is now functional. While I appreciate corporate's addressing the issue, I hope the local management works to improve customer service. read more

We have visited the Lowe's store many times. They usually have everything we need. Because we have an older place with some outdated lights and light fixtures finding replacements wasn't an easy task. Luckily we met Charles in the store. He was very nice and quite familiar with everything we needed. He was very helpful and went out of his way to ensure we had everything and offered up some great ideas for the recessed bathroom light. We come here often as prices are competitive and they have 10% discount with military ID. This place is conveniently located near JBER, a variety of restaurants and stores. If someone doesn't have the answer to our question they usually find someone who can. Their installation department is not my favorite but despite this, I can usually find what I need at this store. The service has been consistently good, with many employees going above and beyond when we've needed advice or help on a home project.
