This was a rare occasion where I came by with my husband and baby instead of by myself. Which worked fine because the shopping carts have a little spot for kids to sit down and buckle up. Christmas decor and trees are out already and so are the coats. There's plenty of Halloween to go around still. I do think that the receipt checker was a little excessive touching everything to get a count. Also churros are now in the food court so that's my big win for this Costco trip! read more

UPDATE: I wanted to update my previous review because Costco did ultimately make this situation right. After the issue with my original tires not being returned to me as requested, the Assistant General Manager reached out and took responsibility for resolving the problem. They ordered a brand-new set of tires for me to replace the ones that were lost. I picked up the replacement tires today, and everything went smoothly with absolutely no issues. The full set was there and ready for me, exactly as promised. I was extremely frustrated with how the original situation was handled, but I also believe in giving credit when a business steps up and fixes a mistake. I really appreciate the AGM taking my complaint seriously, following through, and making sure I was properly taken care of. Mistakes happen--the way a company responds afterward matters just as much. Costco handled the resolution well, and I'm satisfied with how everything ultimately turned out. I've attached a photo of the new tires as well. read more

Going to Costco in a new city - that's cultural immersion and exchange, all in one, right? I don't think we had visited the last time we were in Anchorage some 4 or 5 years ago: this time we'll make it right, right? Well, the first thing I noticed was the TREMENDOUS selection of great wines they have here? Pavie, Palmer, Pichon Longueville ... none are available in Orlando or Atlanta, which we frequent. The prices were excellent too, BUT, they were all 2021, not an outstanding vintage, and way too young to drink. With us going on a cruise, I'm not going to lug it half way the world around. Instead, I got a Hedges red blend 2022 for a song and dance - and no tax in AK!! Word to the wise: you have to pay for the liquor separately in that area before going back to the regular WH space. Well other than libations, and even though halibut is disappointingly un-cheap here in their backyard and breeding grounds, there is one beautiful buy though - sable fish, or black cod! The filleted ones are cheap enough, but whole fish, $5.99 a pound? Makes me want to move here! Sadly, we are here too short a time to enjoy it because it's just too big a pkg (and Fred Meyer doesn't even carry it). So, maybe when I come back to ski? read more

It is always a adventure to visit a Costco, aside from their staple items that they always stock, which is why I will always be a loyal member! I walk through the store to grab a rotisserie chicken, and BAM! I see something I didn't even know I needed in my life! Then $300-$500 later our household is set for the next year on trash bags. However, ever with all the great deals, I can never justify paying $35 for TP. The best thing about Costco, is you can go to any one in the nation! My favorite hub was Seattle, it was 4 times the size of our puny anchorage locations, totally makes me jealous, the sheer amount of savings im missing out on because we are isolated in Alaska, and never get the really cool stuff, BOO. Additionally, I have moved to Big Lake, and its over 52 miles to our nearest Costco. Why can we not open a Costco in WASILLA!!! We deserve to have deals too here in District 12! read more

Just had my worst customer experience at the store in over eight years of being a Costco member. Rudest cashier I've ever met. Specifically asked him if he wanted me to unload the boxes he told me no. And as he began to check out the items he began to throw things and they landed on my bread and I said please be careful then he started getting an attitude with me saying that I needed to help him And that I should've put everything on the belt. Then I brought up he told me to leave the things in the boxes and he said don't mess with me man don't mess with me in the threatening manner. read more

Everyone at this Store is very friendly and helpful. One of the Person that does Demos was very Rude and unfriendly.

The tire center is exceptional; a constant stream of customers and the employees remain calm, patient, and helpful. I am impressed with their ability to handle such volume, each season. Thankful for the Debarr Tire Center Crew. read more

I don't know if I can articulate why but...to me...this is the inferior Costco in town. Like the other, it is always dreadfully crowded and the parking lot is hell on earth. I feel like the selection here isn't as exhaustive, but I can't prove it. The diamond location wins because the parking lot is slightly bigger and it's MUCH easier to navigate into and out of it. It's also close to Anchorage Brewing Company, so there's that. read more

First time here. I saved my receipt from a week ago as Zoa energy drinks went on sale to save $5.50 each. I got $11 back. The policy now is 30 days not 14. I knew I'd be flying back to MN and found m and m bark, Alaskan Reindeer Sausage and a snack mix. These are packed in the carry on. The parking lot was weird with diagonal and one direction parking. In MN, we have vertical parking, and you can enter in both directions. Oh well, no big deal. This Costco had more snack items and was similar to our business center offerings. read more

10/15/2024 @1:07 pm They are now targeting people and forcing them to scan. Multiple people did not scan before me, I have VIDEO evidence. All I wanted was a freaking hot dog for lunch. I was told to go around and scan. My membership was updated three months ago and my photo is up to date. Their excuse is that they need to know if members accounts are active and if my photo is accurate. I will get stopped at the register if it is not. Then an employee at the liquor register harassed me about it. "It's not that hard". It's bad enough you let male employees in the bathroom, didn't believe my daughter or me about it. Now we are being harassed for owning a Costco membership. Thanks for ruining my lunch. I only drove two freaking hours to shop with my membership. read more

The purchasing power of $1.50 has for forty years now been pegged to one Costco Food Court hotdog and fountain drink. Had the Federal Reserve over said timeframe conducted its affairs with equally conservative restraint, the U.S. dollar's purchasing power would have maintained 1980s levels to this day. Tires bought at Costco include free lifetime rotations and nitrogen gas top-off. Lug nut tightening is moreover, after being started pneumatically, finished via torque wrench rather than being barbarically air-ratcheted down* all the way onto your rim. Free lifetime tire rotations and nitrogen gas top-offs are included, and $100 or more off sets of Michelins has been a recurring deal for years running. (*) As I had observed being done at (the defunct since November 2017) Johnson's Tire Service. And for shoppers seeking to avoid or reduce their ingestion of toxic agricultural chemicals, there is always a worthwhile selection of organic food including fresh produce, frozen fruits and vegetables, nuts, dried fruits, baking ingredients, and prepackaged and ready-to-cook items. Finally, the resident optometrist, Dr. Marko Hrgovic, has over the decades been as constant and appreciated of a presence at the DeBarr location as--the $1.50 Costco hot dog! read more

This Review Is For The Phamacy Only! Finally, and officially made the switch like my husband and daughter did over a year ago. Dimond Costco Your Pharmacy SUCKS! So many flaws at Dimond, so as soon as I went for my phsical I told my Dr. To send everything to Debarr ... within an hour of sending my scripts I'm getting texts "Your Presciption Is Ready" 'Ding, Ding' Ding' What WOW ... SO FAST! Glad I'm now a Debarr Pharmacy customer! When I went to pick up today they were so nice, no wonder hubby moved his scripts here! read more

First off...The churro is back!!! The recipe changed but it's better- more cinnamon and sugar! Costco for the win! The store is clean, enforces masks for staff and customers, and keeps their prices low! This Costco has been the most reliable source for affordable groceries since I moved here. They even have poke in their premade meals refrigeration area! I hit up their premade meals regularly, my favorites are the poke, spinach canolini, and bell peppers. Everything we have gotten here has been fresh and delicious. Checkout is fast despite always being crowded. Can't say enough good things about Costco! read more

I went into the tire center this week to make an appointment to have my tires switched out. The man at the counter said he couldn't make me an appointment because supposedly something was wrong with their scheduling. He said he would take my phone number and my name and give it to a lady that was going to call me the next day to help me schedule my appointment Well it's been 3 days now and noting No call from anyone. This Costco also never answers their phone, I've been trying to call No! answer Horrible customer read more

This is my favorite Costco in town. I prefer this store due to the way its organized. It seems to be larger and there is much more space between the registers. Even before the Covid outbreak when social distancing didn't matter I preferred this location because of the ample room between the registers and aisles. They seem to have more products at this location as well. read more

The Costco way of doing business does not apply to the AT&T phone sales kiosk inside Costco warehouses in Anchorage. The AT&T sales people I spoke with are dishonest, disrespectful, and fraudulent. And the return policy within two weeks after a purchase and the many untruths are discovered, is impossible. When Costco management is informed of this, Costco management denies any responsibility to straighten anything out. Anything goes with AT&T personnel because they are not Costco employees. Steer clear of AT&T at Costco! read more

This review is for the Vision Center located in Costco on Debarr Road. You wind up saving 100's of dollars getting glasses here, which is great, especially when the frame selection is usually pretty good with designer name styles available. And having someone like Kimmy help you out worked out nicely because she recognizes the importance of detail and is very careful inputting your information into the computer. My only qualm is that the quality of the lenses are not going to be as up to par as when purchasing glasses from an eye doctor's professional office. Don't ask me why exactly, but the old saying comes to mind that "you get what you pay for." Those whose vision is not as poor as mine may disagree, and that's okay. I am satisfied with my purchase of two pairs of glasses today, and my experience with Kimmy was top-notch. And I do appreciate not having to deal with a huge dent in my savings account every two years when it comes time to get new eyeglasses. read more

One of two Costcos in Anchorage. This one is as smoothly run and well-stocked as all the others, but I have often found products available only at this location versus the Dimond Blvd location and vice versa. The gas lines also move pretty quickly. I cannot speak for the Tire Center or the fast food up front, which I often try to avoid because the pizza is too damn good for what it is. read more

This Costco location occasionally has some different stock from the one on Dimond. It might also be slightly larger? Unfortunately, the parking lot situation is equally as dreadful. Love this Costco. But it might be worth changing your hours on here. This Costco closes at 6pm on Saturday night.

Hello, I went to Costco on DeBarr Road on November 26, 2022. To get my Membership card. This is my 1st experience shopping at this store. However, I had difficulty finding items, I was frustrated. I did manage to buy a few items from obvious locations. I just couldnt fine the necessary items throughout the store. I was going up and down each aisle like a confused new shopper. I only gotten one assistance from a employee but the employee only pointed out with his hand where the item was. I went to where the employee pointed but STILL could not find the item! So I just left with the few items I saw! read more

One does not merely like Costco, everybody loves Costco! I have never heard a person say they dislike them. I personally only dislike going now that Sams Club shut down because of the influx of people that weren't there before. I frequent the Debarr store because of its location, being on my way home. I like the layout and flow of the store, I think it's much better than Dimond. I went to Dimond yesterday and really shouldn't have, since I had to go back and forth to areas a couple times, not knowing where things were located. You can't beat the price and taste of the rotisserie chickens! I rarely get all the way home without digging into it. I'm not a fan of samples, but I know plenty of people who eat their way through the store. The cheese selection is wonderful and I'm a big fan of the two-pack Swiss Fondue that they carry around the holidays. I wish they had it year round, but I stock up this time of year due to its shelf life. It aids in not always making it from scratch. A little added nutmeg and it's practically homemade!! Costco is really rocking it too with so many options out of the norm like almond flour, stevia, coconut flour, spices and so many other off the wall items!! They're really great at adding in new items to get the creative juices flowing. I won't be quitting my Costco trips anytime soon, however I'd love to see another one in town or towards Eagle River/valley area. I have heard that Dimond is going to be expanded and remodeled and become one of the largest stores in the region. read more

Short Story: A cool Costco in Anchorage! Not too crowded and a good selection. Long Story: I came here to see the Northern Lights and made a quick stop at this Costco. It was March and I wanted to buy a thermal but it was not in season anymore. So instead we went to the food court and got a polish dog, a slice of pizza, and the bbq sandwich. Verdict: I'll come back the next time I'm in Anchorage. read more

Thank you Cosco tire center for getting my tires on and balanced. Mike is magnificent!

Joined the club a couple months ago and have been a handful of times so I thought it time for a review. This club is pretty similar to any other warehouse store I've been to, same general setup and way of doing things. This store seems to have a better selection of produce, meats, and other bakes goods. Their selections of alcohol could be better but not bad. Their prices for alcohol isn't much better than the local package store though. They do seems to rotate the specials on general items. The tire store is a good deal, I purchase a new set of Michelin's tires for my Jeep at 60% of what the tire stores wanted and they put them on in minimal time and without issue. The folks at the service desk are nice and treat you well. All in all a good warehouse store, see you next week... read more

Hearing aid section. My mom had purchased a set from here. And when one was broken, was thankful it was still under warranty. Melanie was the first I saw and she helped me right off the bat. When I received them back fixed. Sooner then later. Was grateful Melanie walked me through getting the Bluetooth hooked back to them. When I couldn't, Melanie and Nathan took the time to help me and make things work. Loved the atmosphere and appreciated all the time they gave me. Laughter, smiles and plenty of help for all my problems. read more

Thank Goodness For Costco! The Only Good Deals In Alaska? So I would like to thank Costco for having reliable pricing in Alaska to be able to get your supplies and not get priced gouged by so many other retailers. I don't know what it is in Alaska where 70% of businesses are literally marking up prices so high I cannot see how they stay in business. I remember way back in my undergraduate education learning about economies of scale and opportunity costs and Costco clearly has people who had these classes too! Friendly staff and good prices! Thanks Costco! read more

This is a pretty nice costco. The store was bright and airy. One thing that stuck out was the house made Gelato they serve in the deli. First time I've ever seen that. $1.50 for a large waffle cone with 3 scoops is a hell of a deal. I dunno if it's an Alaska thing, but the samples here were pretty sparse on my visit. It's the same at the other Costco. This place was a madhouse compared to the Sam's club that's down the street. read more

This is the dangerous place to shop. You go in with the intention of getting a couple of things and end up walking out with a gazillion other items. My cat only eats Costco cat food so I have no choice but to shop here. Yup! I'm blaming the cat. It's easier to do that than admitting to my shopping weakness. Anyway, my cat has an amazing shiny soft coat that last time I took him in for a check-up, my vet asked me about the brand of the cat food so he could recommend it to others. If you remotely like jerky, you have got to try their Korean bbq pork jerky. It's to die for! Everyone that we introduced the jerky to fell in love with it. It's our favorite food to bring on a hike. Great selection! Great price! Unfortunately, I can't give compliment about the customer service the last time I went. My cashier wasn't that friendly when I didn't have my Costco membership, just a gift card. He had to call his supervisor to authorize the transaction. Sorry for the inconvenience but isn't it your job to accommodate customers (even when they're not a member)? Costco usually has great customer from my past experience. I guess the guy just had a bad day. read more

I love the variety of products at this Costco. Staff is usually very courteous and friendly. The parking lot is quite annoying and feels crowded. I love Costco! In a state where produce is super expensive and usually half rotten or wilted by the time it hits the shelves, Costco has great produce at good prices. Yes, you have a buy a lot of it, but that just means that you have to eat healthy more often to get through it all! They also have bags of organic quinoa, sprouted beans and rice/ quinoa mix. My only problem is that I can't seem to get out of Costco without buying things I probably don't need. This week it was a Britta Water Filter, last week it was the Keurig Coffee machine. I am such a sucker! read more

This Costco was very nice compared to the Los Angeles ones I normally shop at. Stocked up on all the essentials on the way to Willow from the airport. The freshness level was much better than local stores especially the fruits and veggies. Looks like they get their fruits and veggies from nearby Canada. Watermelon was double the price of LA, but then that's expected with the cost of freight. Great deals on no coupon needed items as well as Alaskan items such as birch syrup, fish, local bread, etc... The only issue was that their liquor was separate from the rest of the store and you have to buy it separately from your regular items. Guess a state law exists to keep alcohol separate from the rest of the grocery items ? Wines were more expensive than LA stores but then again shipping costs are much higher in AK. Also - NO SALES TAX ! Zero tax in Anchorage - what a deal ! Gas was a great deal with no tax and a huge parking lot made it a plus. I would definitely return to this one as it was perfect from Anchorage airport to the Mat-Su valley. read more
