Visited this location twice this week. Both times, I walked into the women's restroom, lacking cleanliness. Urine on the floor of several stalls, toilet paper all over the floor and toilets have not been cleaned in days. Someone should check every 30 mins. This shows me you don't value your employees. But if I do the Work go through the aisles, find the item and self check out it's $169.99. It's just agitating that you will not price match, but I can order it and pick it up the same day at the lower price. You've already wasted the employees time and my time. For a while, I was only making trips to Target for baby showers and other random "gift trips." Today, I visit Target much more often, and for me and mine. This location has been recently remodeled. The most annoying thing about this Target South location is probably the parking lot. Lots of handicapped spots that are always open. Grrr... Inside, will always remind me of the sole Kmart we had on the east side of town, growing up. White floors, red interior. Cashier lines that move fast. They have a little bit of everything here. Quality clothing, quality skin/hair care, baby gear, books, food, groceries and even beer/wine/liquor. Probably one of few places to find kids swimming wear, in the middle of winter. As a fellow Yelp Elite mentioned, be forewarned that clothing here, is pretty pricey in comparison to other places. I recommend visiting this Target when you are in the area. read more

I have a love/hate relationship with target. I remember when Alaska didn't have one and I loved going when out of state to see what they had in their dollar section and to buy clothes nobody else would have. Now that we have them, and I live 2 minutes away I frequent quite a bit even though it's not a one stop shopping experience. I either buy three things or 20. To get the most out of your shopping experiences 1. Dowload the target app. I know there are a million apps but this one is worth it. You can pay with the app (target debit or credit card, link your gift cards to it, etc. ) there are target circle deals where you get 10-40% off of certain items. You click the deal and scan the app when you're checking out and save money! 2. If you get the debit or credit card you save 5% on every purchase(even Starbucks) but not alcohol. This location used to have the cafe with the pizza and popcorn. They remodeled and now they have a popcorn stand, drink area, soda fountain area where you self serve. I've never seen the are open since they put it in. They no longer have as many tables to sit at either. A few years ago when they did the remodel they put a few new fresh items in like apples, oranges, pineapples, berries, etc. they also put a liquor store in. They rearranged everything with the remodel so it is vastly different from the north locaton. What I have a hard time with is the app is almost never correct about what they have in stock or not. It either says it's stocked in isle___, they have limited stock, or not available. But I can't find items on the shelf that the app says are there. They also have different pricing on the app than what is on the store shelf. They will price match to their online price but it's the hassle of doing it. They figure that's how they get their money when people won't ask every time. Also, they have a lot of deals only when you order pickup in store or online and not when you buy it in the store. It's like they are encouraging you to not come into the store like other online retailers are already taking business away from them. Careful with the sign, they may be attached to the store shelf but the deal is only available for pickup orders. Overall I like the dollar section, the bathrooms are by the entrance, you can get Starbucks, and you can find some things you can't find other places. They have a nice selection of books and board games, the clothes are not that cheap and not really my style so I don't get many from there. Just look at the deals they are offering and use the target circle app! read more

They have a nice variety of all kinds of items . They carry a lot of quality name brands . They have a nice selection of all sizes in their clothing department and the store is fairly easy to navigate . The location in south Anchorage is easy to get to and parking is also easy . Coming from a merchandizing back round I'm always underwhelmed at target because they are a cookie cutter business when I comes to merchandising. Rude ass fucking workers i was trying to find something that was in stock but apparently because it was 10 minutes before close they're refused to help me. I was looking for an 8 pack of bic lighters with designs and they're response was "they all do the same thing" and didn't even try to help me find them. I also asked for help in the makeup department with 15 mins before close and they decided to tell me to come back tomorrow. I work in the customer service industry and i would NEVER speak to my guest in such a rude tone. I understand they were trying to close but even when we are about to close at my job i do everything in my power to help them. I AM LIVID. Teach your employees to have a little respect. read more

I like living near a Target, but this one isn't the best. Most Targets have almost exactly the same layout, which makes it easy to find what you're looking for. Some of the design choices in this Target, however, are just plain stupid. There's at least one area of the store (in the cosmetics section) where a pole is right in the way of a display. Whoever is to blame for that needs a different job. Also, customer service is almost never around when you need them. More than once I've spent several minutes waiting at the customer service desk. I'm sure at least one employee saw me there but just chose not to help me. If there is someone there then I still have to wait a while if there's another customer in front of me in line. I blame the customers who use the desk as a checkout to skip the lines more than the employees in this case. Other than that, standard Target. They have self checkout now which is nice, except it often seems like at least one is out of order. This is not somewhere I come to shop unless I have at least an hour of free time. read more

I called the pharmacy and it's a machine spouting do you need vaccines...... then stating download their app. This isn't customer service. The pharmacy did answer at 10 minutes. Target charges a lot and has you self-checkout, regardless of the lengthy lines at checkout. In fact, I've lived in Anchorage nearly 3 years and I don't think I've EVER been here! Walking in the doors, I was hit with a wave of nostalgia. I love the smell of Target. If it there were a candle, yo, I'd buy it. (hint hint) Some folks may find that "new clothes" smell too chemically, but it reminds me of being a kid, rushing to the toys/electronics aisles and fantasizing about my next birthday/Christmas (whichever came first). Anyway, things were pretty much just as I remember them! Same bright white and red color scheme, same cleanliness, same great service. They do have many more options for food than I remember, though. Oh Target, how do I love thee? It's a little pricier that some other stores, especially clothing... so I avoid that section. And their shoes are horrible. But their food department is where the savings are at. OMG. And some of their Target brand (Market Pantry) foods are really outstanding. They have this Unicorn Magic ice cream I would stab an old person for. They've got great store brand sodas like blood orange. And a lot of name brand food items are way cheaper than the grocery store. It's always fun to check out their seasonal selection as well. Whether is halloween costumes, or gardening crap, or school supplies, Target always has something interesting out, and once they put it on clearance, it's a great deal I just can't pass up. read more

Family friendly. Bathrooms are right by the entrance, easy to pick up an online order/make a return because customer service is right at the door too. They have a Starbucks and Pizza Hut pizzas/food court/decent seating also. I mostly go here because if price matching. On the Target app you just scan any item and it will show you the online price, any cartwheel offers (app discounts) and manufacture coupons. You can also show any cashier Walmart prices and amazon prices to get those ones too. I price matched a convertible car seat and used a coupon and it went from $149 to $74. Not bad! I save around 10-60% off of every purchase. A gallon of milk price matched (to their online price) is $1.99 where everywhere else in town it's around $3.50. Other reasons I love this store- it is off of bus routes and a fairly far walking distance from most places. This means no pan handlers. No one lurking in the parking lot waiting for you to park and asking for money. One guy was tapping on my window before I even parked last time I was at Walmart. Another time, while I was pregnant there was a bum fight in the doorway at another Walmart and I couldn't leave. This has never happened at Target (yet, and hopefully never). Most people have been to target but for those of you who haven't- it's basically a Fred Meyer with less fresh food. We don't have Super Targets up here yet. read more

When comparing big box stores in the South Anchorage area, Target is much more preferable than the Walmart on Old Seward Highway. Quite honestly, this Target is in a rather odd location off of C St. and 100th Ave. When I came down here for the first time, I had to stare at this location for a minute being that at the time two years ago, it was in an isolated industrial area with Cabela's as it's only neighbor. Starbucks and Xalos Burrito Express hasn't been built yet. However, something tells me that this Target was placed here for a reason and two years later, it is starting to show with the construction of Smashburger underway and plans for a massive outlet shopping center to be built across the street. This Target for the most part has always been clean and organized if not well-stocked at times. The employees here can be difficult to track down when you need help finding something as most of them are usually concentrated in the register area at the front or away from the registers in the other departments working on stock in the back. In any case, Target has the cleaner store with a less chaotic and crowded feel compared to Walmart. That shows throughout the store and in the parking lot even during rush hour times. I generally come here for good deals on novelty items and TV shows on DVD as well as groceries. Groceries here are priced a couple of dollars less than the local neighborhood markets, but Walmart has the edge in terms of larger discounts and brand availability. I would visit this location more frequently if they made this into a Super Target to compete with Walmart. Super Targets are everywhere where I used to live down in North Carolina and Anchorage badly needs one as a much-needed alternative to the Walmarts around town. Super Target's meat, produce, and deli sections are a lot cleaner and well-stocked in appearance by comparison. There are some good deals to be found here if you look hard enough. Some of the items I found for a great bargain include a Walking Dead Wall Clock on clearance for $9.99 as well as TV shows like Bones Season 10, Aquarius with David Duchovny Season 1, and Criminal Minds Seasons 6, 7, and 8 at only $10.00 apiece. You can find deals like this every Tuesday as new movies and shows are released and older product is marked down to make room for new inventory. It's weekly discounts like this throughout the store that make me come down periodically for a great find. As far as groceries, I will continue to go to Walmart for the lower prices and available brands. Hopefully one day, they will renovate this into a Super Target if they really want to increase business in this part of town. read more

I first went to a Target about 8 years ago in Beaverton, OR. I don't remember being particularly impressed, but I was happy when they arrived in Anchorage a few years ago to break up the monotony that is Wal-Mart. This southside Target opened just over a year ago and is literally within walking distance of my house. Okay, like a 30 minute walk (or a 3 minute drive), but still, it's close. So, convenience alone is like three stars of this review. Located at 100th Ave and C St. puts it at a location that is away from the Old Seward/Dimond traffic nightmare, which, most days, especially on weekends, I would rather chew off my own arm than go through that mess. Thank you, Target, for having the foresight to locate where you are at. In addition to its convenient location, Target has clothing/shoes/jewelry that doesn't look dumpy or frumpy - stuff I would actually wear (and I do!). My only complaint(s), really, is/are that their magazine selection really kinda sucks and their prices on electronics/DVDs aren't really competitive. I really enjoy their seasonal section no matter what season it is and I like Target's Archer Farms food brand. It's pretty darn good quality in comparison to a lot of other generic branding. You'll probably find me here once a week stalking the aisles. read more

Target also does online price matching that everyone should use when they shop at target. It can save you tons! I like the dimond and 100th ave location because it is closer to my neighborhood. This target has a Starbucks inside, and a food counter where you can get personal size Pizza Hut pizza. There are other quick food selections as well. The store is pretty clean, except the bathroom. If there is one thing I can complain about the store is the cleanliness of their bathroom. The store has self- check out registers and the lines are rarely ever long. Suddenly Target has abandoned Alaskans that don't live in Anchorage. All over the country Target ships groceries, toiletries etc to people's homes via the mail. We used to be able to order things to Sitka. Suddenly most things don't ship here. They could have upped the minimum or something, instead we were just cut off. USPS works the same in Alaska as anywhere, treatment like this from a store that wants to be here is not acceptable. Alaska needs to boycott Target, they are not good citizens. read more

have been shopping at your store for years, I even have a red card but was blown away tonight and I will now never be shopping at your store again. My daughter needed a new swim suit so of course I thought target. We had a busy day but I checked and saw that you stayed open until 11:00!! Yes we could rush over as soon as I got off work. We got there by 9:30, it took her 10 minutes to pick some only to find out that the dressing room closed at 9:00, TWO HOURS before the store. I was pretty upset because how do you buy a swim suit with out trying it on?? Then the young lady working the fitting room had the Nerve to tell me "I should have come earlier!!" Like she knows anything about my life or my schedule. If a store is open to buy clothes you should be able to try them on. I feel this policy of closing the dressing two hours before the store is completely insane. I understand the need to clean it before closing but two hours??? Not only is the policy awful the employees are rude! Being told "I could have come earlier" and also that "well I'm not staying until midnight to clean the dressing room just so you can try on clothes" the young manager at the time Katie was at least respectful but the girl working the fitting room will be the reason my family never shops there again. I avoid Walmart for obvious reasons but this Target location is slowly getting to that level. The baby/toddler clothes area is ALWAYS A HOT MESS. Clothes are everywhere and it's very unorganized. Men's clothing isn't any better. There is no sense of organization. It's so hard to find anything. It's as if they just folded the clothes but no thought into where they are put away. Let me start by saying, I used to love South Target so so much. It was always kind and inviting. Now this Target's customer service, customer treatment, and employee treatment has been in a steady decline for over a year, they boast their sales to people that come in, but they still haven't learned true customer service, and seem to think calling people their "guest" will make up for their lack of overall compassion and effort. Once they got their new store director, things started to get worse in my opinion. He walks around like he owns the store, never actually helps with anything, and is kind of a prick, especially right before the big boss comes in to visit. You are telling me that Target recognizes that there is an error that allows some people to get items shipped to them, but people who live across the street aren't able to get those same items, and that Target has no interest in fixing this issue? Rica: I see. Now I know what's the problem on this issue. As what you've said, you're on Alaska. Just to inform you, based on our policy we have a restriction about shipping the items on your place. And Groceries are include for the exception to be shipped on Alaska. Rica: That's why there is a two remaining items that can be shipped because the item is not part of grocery. Me: Again, my neighbors who also live in Alaska - who live within two-hundred feet of me, are able to get groceries shipped to them from Target. Every single item I put in my basket was shipped to my neighbor last week. I used her grocery list to make mine. Can i make that any clearer to you? Rica: I understand. But please understand as well that there are some items are restricted to be shipped like groceries. At this point I gave up. Love all the safety precautions this target has been taking for covid. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with a cashier named Stephanie. She was very rude when I politely inquired about the gift card that was supposed to come with my purchase. She had told me that I was supposed to add that promotion into my target app wallet (which I did, I even showed it to her). When I showed her she told me that "it's too late" and I'm just going to have to go to the Customer Service area. Me being uncomfy with situations like this, I just said ok. Turns out she just needed to scan a gift card at the end of the transaction. I was not really bothered about the gift card but the fact that she was very, for lack of a better word, b-itchy, about it, really disappointed me. I hope next time she either learns how to properly use the system or put her customer voice on, as that's what she signed up for. read more

Anchorage is well-known for its lackluster customer service, especially if you've ever been literally anywhere else in the world. This target is borderline "normal" for its customer service which is sadly refreshing. However, it is still severely lacking on a regular basis. Let me explain: the other day I was in this Target with my sister and her children who were visiting from the lower 48. I saw a worker that i recognized. I said to her as she walked by, "excuse me, do you have any Kool-Aid?" To which she looked at me and said "I'm not on shift." She was in her uniform. I said "okay... so you can't help me if you're not on shift?" She said, "No." and walked away. My sister stared at her as she walked away and then laughed and said "WOW that is the worst customer service I've ever seen." A few minutes later the same gal was up front manning a register. They aren't too bad of a Place to Shop if you can't find it at Wal-Mart, but....sometimes you can find things cheaper elsewhere. When it comes to certain things like Furniture they seem to be unable to keep most things in stock...and although they Do have a Nice Grocery section it's not really that big and as they try Not too look like a KMart, Their Hours are Awesome.
