Something I didn't care for was that two or three cashiers at the front were having their own loud conversation that wasn't very appropriate and they did not have the professionalism to cut the convo short for a minute and just resume after we checked out. The young man we had as our cashier though was incredibly professional and ultra polite. I don't go to kohls often but when I do it's typically to buy Nike or Adidas because I know they have it there.

On the way out I grabbed a Fenty Gloss instead for my sister. Here's where the issue came in. I put my card in, put in my pin and it said take your card out. She then says oh it didn't go through. So I repeated the process and this time she said I have to call Corporate. It came up as a duplicate purchase. The manager comes over and he's TRYING to explain to me that it didn't go through. Until I pulled up my bank account and the debt is already out of my account. I showed him my account 3 times and he kept saying it will drop off. No it won't it already came out of my account that's why it's saying duplicate. After he comes back he brings a receipt that's 5 minutes after the first receipt that says voided in store. It wasn't a void. My daughter was being really polite but he came off as rude, very rude. He wasn't listening to what we were saying. His facial expression showed he didn't care it was his way or no way. He then said she has to pay for it ...again. I said no I don't want it. The two people working were amazing. They saw I was handicapped and needed just a little more help. They smiled and talked to me with respect just as I was doing with them. Bryce the manager was very rude and didn't care that it came out of My account all he wanted to do was mansplane to us. When my daughter asked his name he said it with an attitude. For no reason. No one raised their voice at him not once. I love Sephora but I will never in my Life go back to that location because of him. He makes no one want to shop. And they are having a good sale.

There was neat stock of new springs and summer arrivals and dollar things to peruse. They had a super selection of all things leftover packing, food storage, and home packed lunch. Red Robin smartened up and moved across the street from Northway. I haven't been to the movie theater yet, but it's the only IMAX in the whole state.

We visited the Anchorage area this summer, and we wanted to stop by this small mall that is accessible for military personnel. The facility was very clean and well maintained. Fred Meyer's employees put themselves at risk of infection every day. They are overworked and understaffed and underpaid. They, along with medical professionals and first responders, are keeping us alive right now. The only difference is that they are paid and respected much less by our society. To clear a few things up: Instacart: is not owned by Fred Meyer. If you have a problem with them, you shouldn't put that on Fred Meyer. Also: Instacart workers are also on the front lines, and need your compassion. It's a GOOD THING: that grocery stores are being strict about returns. THIS DISCOURAGES HOARDING, in addition to being SAFE. In times like this, we should only buy what we NEED. OK, so with that soapbox out of the way: Freddies is doing a great job, all things considered. Social distancing markers are in place on the floors. Employees are constantly sanitizing and/or changing out gloves. Food is getting re-stocked only days after the hoarders take it all. Despite all the added strain, employees remain cheerful and eager to help. Oh, and they are keeping alcohol sales going...essential indeed. Let's be nice, and keep it classy, Anchorage. We'll get through this.

Upstairs is the food court with more local owned restaurants than your typical mall food court. I like upstairs because my daughter likes to ride the 25¢ rides. There's a JCPenny as the big box store and they have a lot of good housewares and clothes often on sale but that's about as big as it gets. Theres more clothing stores and specialty stores. I did think that there's pretty adequate security in this mall walking around and their numbers are posted up all over to call in case you see something fit for such a call. Parking costs money but it's ridiculously cheap compared to other malls in the country. I paid $2 for maybe under two hours.

The door people were nice both coming and going. As far as deals go. A 250 square foot roll of aluminum foil is $24 at Walmart but here it's $27.99 for two rolls. That's huge savings.
