Prices were very clear. I need a little extra help finding something in the Clerk on duty did a great job. I walked out of there with several bags full of Fun things. Now I don't get to Alaska often but if I need to, that's my go to place. I highly recommend it for anything last minute and affordable.

Maybe they keep it dark so you don't notice how dingy it is? Maybe they only paid part of their electric bill (obviously I say in jest)? Maybe they're too cheap and lazy to replace burned out bulbs? I think we have a winner! The reason I go to a dollar store is because they usually beat the big box stores on price and convenience. These folks did neither. We've established the fact their prices suck and it's a pain to shop in the dark like it was moonlight 9-pin-no-tap at the local lanes. We ended up driving over to Sam Walton's place and spent the money there. A mop and some hot soapy water would also do wonders. I know there's got to be a long list of some minor repairs that looks like won't get done. I understand this isn't the ritziest section of Anchorage and that businesses won't be a golden palace. But this store goes way beyond a little distressed, making it a drag to visit. So we won't. I must say the young man with the long hair was most amusing and friendly. We enjoyed his story on the lack of tax in Anchorage and the cost of the shopping bags. He seemed lonely. We understand why. 07/22

Customer Service is excellent and their location is easy to find, right off the Parks Highway. If you're looking to pay less for basic items like scrubbing pads or notebooks, balloons, etc., this is the spot. *Note: Not everything is ten dollars and under; I would say about 95% of the items are under ten, with 50% of the items under two bucks a pop.

Also had warning about rodents, screws, mice in units. Doors won't open & close properly & had to wait for their flunkee to fix doors, only to have that happen time & time again. In summary, your belongings are never safe there. Owner will blame you and not admit that he doesn't properly maintain units from the weather elements. Save yourself some time & money and pick a reputable storage unit. Caveat Emptor big time...

One time I was looking for plain old candles for a cake and I couldnt find anything. They only had unicorn shaped ones on toothpicks or numbered candles. Today I went in and I thought maybe they were one of the ones closing since the company went backrupt because when you walk in there was one isle of halloween skeletons, and lots of empty shelves which normally had items on them. The shelves along the wall and the ones in the middle were empty. Maybe there were waiting for more halloween stuff to come in. They only had some camping themed stuff, and a lot of tiki stuff. Also two isles of 4th of july things that I don't think were discounted and it's july 24th. I often look at the pez, but they normally have the same inventory. They have quite a selection of themed party supplies for kids which is nice and by color. I hope they get more inventory because it's slim pickings right now. Also, they never have anyone at the front cashiers checking out, ive always had to akwardly stand at the balloon counter and wait for someone to be available there to ring me out.

Now know that the store was empty besides me, and two ladies up front filling balloons. The same lady that checked me out pointed to the aisle that had my requested item. Took a bit to find since they have a lot of things hanging up. I then went back up to ask for another item and was told the location. Three items, an air horn, fake teeth, and some plastic glasses totaled up $25 dollars. Granted it was my choice to purchase them. But it must have been too little for some decent customer service. It would have gone a long way for her to walk me to the item display. Then she slid my purchases with receipt on top to me. No offer of a bag. I asked for one and she acted like My total was not worthy of a bag. Unfortunately they have no competition. Customer service apparently is based on how much you spend. Their focus appears to be on money according to other reviews. Next time I'll go to Fred Meyer's or target for party favors/gag gifts. Someone should really give this competition!
