Planet fitness and Burlington will remain open. I am giving this mall 5 stars because of the childhood memories it gives me. I worked there in high school at the chocolate chippery. They sold cookies before Mrs. Fields ever came along. This was the hangout spot in the 70s-90s. Not much there now. I do like the Burlington. This mall will be missed.

Cheese in my opinion as a kid), Safeway (before it merged with Carrs), and the original Orange Julius among others drew large crowds on the weekends. Now this place has the look of a post-apocalyptic zombie film with its dark, dimly lit corridors, empty storefronts, and drugged-out deadbeats off the street wandering aimlessly in the halls or sitting on the benches with blank stares. Actual shoppers are a rare sight in the hallways unless you go to larger stores like Carrs or the Burlington Coat Factory. There are some bright spots in the mall like Planet Fitness (which is a lot larger than the midtown location), Excalibur Sports behind the gym which is a great place to buy pro sports items like jerseys, flags, as well as tickets to sporting events anywhere in the country, and Hood Wings down the hallway which has a good selection of chicken wings on their menu if the craving hits. However, I can't shake the feeling that all these businesses are on borrowed time if the property owners won't make any effort to improve the mall and renovate it to attract new businesses and ultimately improve this part of town in the long run. Shoppers and diners are better off visiting the newer shopping center across the Glenn Highway next to Bass Pro Shops for a better leisure destination in the area.

I see so much potential here. This place would make an amazing year-round boutique-y food market and restaurant stall mall. Butchers; fish mongers; international food stores; bakeries; produce stores; tea, coffee and spice shops; and a smattering of international eateries. But instead, this. mall. Is. VACANT. empty. I parked close enough to a door to make it in safely and saw a cart in the hallway and was so excited cause I could not get my walker out of the car to come in. I began pushing it around the mall and was so happy until the 2 female security folks began harassing me. I tried to explain why I was pushing the cart and they didn't have an ounce of empathy and wanted to take the cart from me. when I asked if I could at least push it back toward the door where I was parked, they would not allow it. I felt extremely humiliated and both of them were very mean and angry and were trying to instigate conflict with me, they were bullying me. This saddens me as I have enjoyed past visits but probably will never return again.

The woman working here is a real buzzkill. I am a shopper who doesn't like to be bothered, however--nothing beats a smile and a hello upon walking into a place. She will engage in conversation if you get it started while buying something. Hmmm. I had thought at one time that I may be a regular if only because the wonderful Leanin' Tree greeting cards are carried here. Meh. I get more warmth at the Hallmark store which is in the same mall, and from ordering cards online with Greeting Card Universe, where customizing is free. Both places provide a "Thank you for stopping in!" :-)

You could spend a bit of time here just to see everything and you'd probably still miss things. Nope. I walked in and the lady working there looked up at me from her knitting/crocheting and looked back down. No hello. Nothing. I did a small circle, getting closer to the register to see if I'd still get an acknowledgement. Nothing. I have decided that as I visit stores and shop the Christmas bazaars that if the owners cannot take the time to greet potential customers then they do not deserve my business. A simple "hello" doesn't hurt anyone. It's one word. I would of even taken a wave... Sorry not sorry.
