Since then, PetSmart, Kohl's, Sports Authority, Best Buy, and Lowe's have opened in this center. Everything and anything you need for gadgets, food, electronics, home textiles and more! Red Robin smartened up and moved across the street from Northway. I haven't been to the movie theater yet, but it's the only IMAX in the whole state.

We thought it was neat that they have an ice skating rink right in the middle, and the food court is conveniently located next to it. I absolutely loved the painted moose featured in the pictures. Overall, we highly recommend stopping by if you need to replace something you left behind or if you're looking for a unique gift. But there are other things that make it unique. It has a ice rink, gym with a pool, movie theater, food at either end (although limited) a Dave and Busters (which i hate, but some people love, sooo.... ) and a variety of stores for all people. But its definitely lacking. For starters, no big box store like Macy's or Nordstroms. So if you're doing major shopping... eh, plan ahead. Overall, this mall sucks giant donkey balls, but there are a handful of stores I go here specifically for. But especially since the shitty Carrs closed and the Sears has been sliced in half, the mall has pretty much imploded. I do like their "farmer's market" on Wednesdays and Saturdays when the weather is inclement. And since this mall is very centrally located and has ample parking, sometimes I pop in on my way home from work. But no doubt, if this was in an out of the way location for me, I absolutely would not go here. Honestly, they should just raze this whole place and start over since it's such a prime location. Good things about this place: Creative Chaos and Lemon Tree Gifts - literally two of my favorite chick gift stores in all of Anchorage. I parked close enough to a door to make it in safely and saw a cart in the hallway and was so excited cause I could not get my walker out of the car to come in. I began pushing it around the mall and was so happy until the 2 female security folks began harassing me. I tried to explain why I was pushing the cart and they didn't have an ounce of empathy and wanted to take the cart from me. when I asked if I could at least push it back toward the door where I was parked, they would not allow it. I felt extremely humiliated and both of them were very mean and angry and were trying to instigate conflict with me, they were bullying me. This saddens me as I have enjoyed past visits but probably will never return again.

Cheese in my opinion as a kid), Safeway (before it merged with Carrs), and the original Orange Julius among others drew large crowds on the weekends. Now this place has the look of a post-apocalyptic zombie film with its dark, dimly lit corridors, empty storefronts, and drugged-out deadbeats off the street wandering aimlessly in the halls or sitting on the benches with blank stares. Actual shoppers are a rare sight in the hallways unless you go to larger stores like Carrs or the Burlington Coat Factory. There are some bright spots in the mall like Planet Fitness (which is a lot larger than the midtown location), Excalibur Sports behind the gym which is a great place to buy pro sports items like jerseys, flags, as well as tickets to sporting events anywhere in the country, and Hood Wings down the hallway which has a good selection of chicken wings on their menu if the craving hits. However, I can't shake the feeling that all these businesses are on borrowed time if the property owners won't make any effort to improve the mall and renovate it to attract new businesses and ultimately improve this part of town in the long run. Shoppers and diners are better off visiting the newer shopping center across the Glenn Highway next to Bass Pro Shops for a better leisure destination in the area.

This mall has had many different stores come and go, but is primarily an extension of UAA and a couple of odds and ends type stores. Back in the day there used to be only a couple of theaters, and I would come here for some cinematic adventure. I got my first hamster in the animal store that used to have a pond with a bridge outside the entrance (hamster died pretty soon after, and it wasn't my fault). There was a popular clothing store that has long left this physical plane, as well as bookstores, new age crystal store, a bead supply store, and The Cauldron restaurant. I come here every few months for beauty torture treatments, but I still can picture the way it was before the big change and the facelift Sadler's gave the main entrance. I would give it more stars if I was a frequent visitor, like the many walkers or students trying to pay their fees.

It says something that my uncle, daughter and grand daughter all walked out with new clothes. I even found a couple of sweatshirts to bum around in. Do the math and that's four generations served by one store. My uncle's new wife won't let me use her name in the review and got mad and yelled at me about it. So, let's call her Mandice. Not because she has massively huge man-feet, but it's just a random name. Right? Point is, that there were shoes that fit those gunboats...and looked great, to boot (see what I did there). She left with a pair of heels, a running shoe and slippers. NR has a new shoe customer, thanks to me (even though she'll never admit it was me).
