We checked out of the hotel and wanted to kill some time between brewery visits, so we stopped here because it looked interesting. This mall is massive and has a lot of cool stores. We thought it was neat that they have an ice skating rink right in the middle, and the food court is conveniently located next to it. I absolutely loved the painted moose featured in the pictures. Overall, we highly recommend stopping by if you need to replace something you left behind or if you're looking for a unique gift. Even if you're just passing through, it's a fun place to spend a couple of hours. There is also plenty of parking! read more

Definitely the best mall in Anchorage. Plenty of parking, plenty of entrances, adequate toilets. But for a mall this large, the food court is so small, its a disgrace, and not very well mapped for people with disabilities or children. But there are other things that make it unique. It has a ice rink, gym with a pool, movie theater, food at either end (although limited) a Dave and Busters (which i hate, but some people love, sooo.... ) and a variety of stores for all people. But its definitely lacking. For starters, no big box store like Macy's or Nordstroms. So if you're doing major shopping... eh, plan ahead. But I love that they host native craft shows here, which ARE AMAZING. so its a toss up. read more

The heat in my room did not work correctly. I was not able to control the temperature, it was either too hot or too cold. The sink did not drain. The toilet was clogged when I flushed it the first time. The biggest issue for me was dealing with the male working at the front desk in the evening. He was rude and treated everyone in my group with disrespect. We can tolerate a lot, but no one enjoys being treated with disrespect. My company booked the hotel for myself and 12 other colleagues. We all will ensure to not stay here again! read more

I'm not sure what happened, but yelp HQ claims that this review originally appeared under "go! Calendars, toys, and games. HQ is incorrect, and should listen to people who actually live in Anchorage. It appears as if go! Has claimed them all page as its own and change the name or something? And now is getting all the reviews for the actual mall removed. ( Seriously, go to their Yelp page and look at all the reviews that are actually for the mall, I highly doubt dozens of people may be the exact same mistake I did and reviewed the wrong place) Anyway, here is my original review for the mall: If I could use a short phrase to describe this place it would be "sadness and zombies". Sadness: you can tell this was once a happenin' place, a state-of-the-art facility. A light on the hill. Now? Nothing has changed, while the world around it has changed dramatically. You can feel the hope this place once had for the future and you can feel the sadness of the future that was never realized. Zombies: It looks like the set of a Dawn of the Dead movie. Old hallways, old stores, weird nooks and crannies. Maybe this should be turned into a massive laser tag park or "zombie experience"? There are some gems in here (Perfect Cup), but mostly it's old tarnished places that you're probably better served by elsewhere. It makes the downtown mall look like something out of the Jetsons. read more

I'm giving this mall 3 stars based on what we have for a choice in Alaska. I'm fully aware this is not like other high class malls you see in the lower 48. I think this one is better than the 5th ave. It depends what you're looking for. I feel it is much better than previous years and they are trying to update the feel and they are consistently getting new tenants. 2022 they are putting in Starbucks, rumble boxing, and the cAKe studio. Selfie world is new, oil and vinegar has moved out of 5th and is now across from icing and Cinnabon is new. 2 auntie Anne's which is what I get, otherwise food supply is short. Chilis, Olive Garden, Cinnabon, nestle toll house, mrs fields cookies, subway, phillycheasesteaks, fruit land smoothies, and a few Asian/sushi places. Round table pizza, baskin robins. A few others I'm spacing on. I'm still wondering what they are going to put where the old forever 21 was. Right now it's a weekend market space. Box lunch and auntie Anne's is why I come. The game store is good I had all types of games if you need gift ideas. Once in a blue moose will get you everything Alaskan, I always check if they have fireweed licorice=the best!! Everything seems to be moving out of 5th ave and coming here. It's not the most fanciest place but they have remodeled the north end. The south end is still the same as it was 20 years ago. There's plenty of benches and plants around to make it inviting. Not big but it's what we got in AK. read more

I came in here on a whim after a few of my coworkers turned me on to a new hobby with Pop! Figurines. Of course, collecting vinyl records will always be my favorite hobby, first and foremost. It's a bummer that this store doesn't carry vinyl with the amount of pop culture merchandise from movies, television, and music displayed all around the store. Otherwise, this would easily be my top destination for novelty shopping. The floor display is a cavernous area with a tremendous variety of items like board games, kids toys, key chains, shirt buttons, stationary, and the aforementioned Pop! Figurines, not just calendars like their namesake. All the items are promotional pieces from every aspect of the entertainment world. I found a couple of Pop! Figurines that featured Cliff Clavin from the TV show Cheers and Al Bundy from Married with Children, a hilarious piece that shows him with a TV remote in one hand and the other in his pants. I am looking to start a 1980's collection and they have plenty of pieces from that era including John McClane from Die Hard, Prince Akeem, Eddie Murphy's character from Coming to America, Vince Neil of Motley Crue, Billy Idol with his trademark sleeveless red vest along with characters from recent movies, video games, TV shows like Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, and even fighters from UFC! The employees here are friendly and fun to converse with especially with their extensive knowledge of all things video games, the Marvel universe, and Japanese anime. It's probably a good thing that they are not knowledgeable on vinyl records or I may never leave. The only reason I am giving this establishment four stars rather than five is that they are more on the pricier side. It would be more ideal to shop here on payday or if you want to treat yourself or someone else. This place was seasonal and now they are permanent in their current location year-round. read more

My favorite mall in Anchorage. I don't get how some people can give this a low rating because they consider it "not as good" as the malls down in the Lower 48 or consider it "outdated". Far from it. I can say that this mall has changed dramatically since my childhood in a good way. Yeah sure it's different from what it was 15-20 years ago but, I feel like it's better than ever. Dimond Center is better than what I remember it to be. It was a great place to shop and hang out when I was a kid and it still is. I'm so happy about the Dave and Busters finally filling that big empty space up on the second floor. That area has always been empty for as long as I can remember. I always have a blast when I come here. I have so many good childhood memories of being at this mall with my parents, grandparents, siblings, cousins, aunts, and uncles growing up. It was always such an event coming here once, twice or even three to four times a year as a kid. I'm originally from Valdez and the closest things we had to a mall there was just the few strip malls we had. Now as an adult, I hope to form new memories of coming here when I come to visit family in Alaska in the near future. Such a great place to shop, hang out, eat good food, watch a movie, go ice skating, bowl, play games at Dave and Buster's or just walk around the building to get some exercise. read more

I'm not sure about the negative reviews but I was pretty pleased with this store. When I visited everything was half off. This is a great place to shop at if you're looking for small gifts like calendars, puzzles, and such. Being the puzzle fiend that I am, I was very pleased to find that they had a very nice selection and with lots of pieces! There were also blocks for kids and other types of toys that spark the imagination and encourage little ones to play vs being hooked to a video game or ipad. I look forward to visiting again once I finish my puzzles to see what else I can find. read more

Had a horrible discriminatory experience at the Diamond Center Mall this evening when my 12 year old daughter was denied access and escorted out by a security guard due to her having a task trained medical alert service dog with her. This was in DIRECT violation of the ADA law and a formal complaint has already been lodged. My daughter has a seizure disorder and this dog is professionally task trained to pre-alert to her seizures based on scent. The security guard would not listen at all when I tried to explain. Not all disabilities are visible, and service dogs come in all sizes. Absolutely disgusted and will be seeking further legal action for this abject violation of my daughter's rights. read more

It's in my neck of the woods and I avoid it like the plague unless I need something from Best Buy. It seriously lacks in quality shopping options. That being said.... If I were a teenager I would find a few select stores of interest. The only mall with less to offer in town is the Northway. A few new shops have filled in holes from those that have given up, but it's just not worth my time to walk past the loud aggressive hustlers in the kiosks. Seriously off putting and cheapens the already suffering reputation of this place. read more

The name of the joint says it all. I came in for a possible Christmas gift, and although I left here empty handed I would say it's got a decent assortment of calendars and games. There were many different types of calendars but none suited my fancy. I perused the games, but again didn't see anything I wanted as a gift or for myself. I really want to get "Cards Against Humanity" without online ordering, but this town apparently doesn't sell them. Oh well. Decent shop. I did note the amount of puzzles so I may return as I'm a big Charles Wysocki fan, but I can get those at any Fred Meyer so who knows. read more
