Do the math and that's four generations served by one store. My uncle's new wife won't let me use her name in the review and got mad and yelled at me about it. So, let's call her Mandice. Not because she has massively huge man-feet, but it's just a random name. Right? Point is, that there were shoes that fit those gunboats...and looked great, to boot (see what I did there). She left with a pair of heels, a running shoe and slippers. NR has a new shoe customer, thanks to me (even though she'll never admit it was me). I love the fact that they keep the place clean and orderly. There's a wide variety. The people are very nice to us, but, they do have to pick up the pace at the check out. Upstairs is the food court with more local owned restaurants than your typical mall food court. I like upstairs because my daughter likes to ride the 25¢ rides. There's a JCPenny as the big box store and they have a lot of good housewares and clothes often on sale but that's about as big as it gets. Theres more clothing stores and specialty stores. I did think that there's pretty adequate security in this mall walking around and their numbers are posted up all over to call in case you see something fit for such a call. Parking costs money but it's ridiculously cheap compared to other malls in the country. I paid $2 for maybe under two hours.

The did a great job explaining the brand and how much the brand stands behind their products. They'll repair them imperfectly for free, or repair them perfectly for a fee. Almost as good as the gold-standard Patagonia warranty! They also explained that this the the only Canada Goose store in US! Finally Anchorage is #1 in something that's not embarrassing! The negatives: If you're one of those folks that says the phrase "Patagucci"...you are about to be humbled. And by humbled, I mean pancaked by a drunk dump truck driver! The prices here are out-of-this-world. Want a beanie? Well, in Canada they call 'em toques. But a toque will run you a smooth $125 here. Just about every jacket is around $900. Many are extremely similar to Patagonia jackets that could be had for $250.

After driving around a few more times and each time glimpsing more and more of the store I finally parked in the lot across the street ($5 for two hours in the evening) and went in. The guy working there was sweet and got to chatting with me while I walked around and picked some things out to try on. In the end I got a cute dress, an artsy Alaska sticker for my nalgene, and an Alaskan local brand tunic hoodie. Such great finds in this random corner store near the 5th St Mall and Nordstrom. They offer hemming on pants here and all kinds of deals on jeans, too. If I lived closer I'd definitely be here all the time!
