When I was there a local oyster farmer was giving people the products they had pre-ordered. Great for gift shopping for both local and tourist alike. Be sure to pick up an Alaskan Naturemade magazine for some great recipes and insight to the area.

We pulled up and I got excited before I even walked in. Keep your empty cleaned out bottles and jars because ladies and gentlemen we can now buy bulk item with out all the plastic from the big stores. They also have empty jars for $.50 if you need them. They have everything from raw nuts, fruit, vegetables, shampoo and toothpaste tablets. We walked around and looked and then decided on a few items We got small jars of a shea butter lotion, amazing! Also picked up some lip balms I believe we got three different ones. Also Amazing! I picked up some wheat berries so I can mill some flour for bread. Speaking of bread, they also sell bread made locally. They sell cookies and coffee made with beans and syrups they sell. We left with a bunch of goodies to try and takes about our next trip and what we will get. I'm changing our eating habits this year. We are making everything at home. No fast food all home cooked. Well except today when we had to eat, but we choose well with our food. lol we are eating clean now so if your looking to change your eating habits, or want to get away from all the plastic and buy local, stop in and have a look. You never know you may just see something and keep coming back for more.

I've been hunting now for weeks for Apple Cider, and it's out of stock at Dimond and the Business Center. And I never knew this prior to shopping at Costco - cases of Bush's Baked Beans are a seasonal item, so now I buy multiples of those. But what I find most aggravating about Costco these days, is the lack of seating in the food court. They have these tall tables you stand up at, maybe 4 of them, and very few of the picnic style tables. Unfortunately for me, by the time I have done my shopping, and get to the food court, I'm in excruciating agony with my back, and feel like I will collapse if I do not sit down immediately. But because there are so few tables to sit at, I have to wait till someone is done. And often, when they're done, they will sit doomscrolling on their phone. And let's also insert at this point, my distress at them removing the deeply beloved Churro from their menu. I'm not the only one deeply distressed by this. I really think you could do some dining table rearrangement Costco, for us people whose backs really hurt, (but not quite enough to get on one of those disabled person carts) As always, kudos for the $1.50 hot dog and soda, but are you ever bringing back the diced onions/sauerkraut?

They accepted my return with no issues despite one bottle being opened and the return process was quick. There were a few sections of live plants, including flowers, shrubs, trees and edible plants. These areas seemed to be very bustling especially in the front. But they're a somewhat good deal but the selection of edible small plants feels a little more limited. Lots of sample guys out and they were lovely with good samples. No cart shortages in the front. The self checkout line was pretty long but it went by fast with pre scan and I was directed to an additional checkout they opened up which left me feeling like a VIP.

I walk through the store to grab a rotisserie chicken, and BAM! I see something I didn't even know I needed in my life! Then $300-$500 later our household is set for the next year on trash bags. However, ever with all the great deals, I can never justify paying $35 for TP. The best thing about Costco, is you can go to any one in the nation! My favorite hub was Seattle, it was 4 times the size of our puny anchorage locations, totally makes me jealous, the sheer amount of savings im missing out on because we are isolated in Alaska, and never get the really cool stuff, BOO. Additionally, I have moved to Big Lake, and its over 52 miles to our nearest Costco. Why can we not open a Costco in WASILLA!!! We deserve to have deals too here in District 12!
