We got the e-bikes and the host had us try a few e-bikes with different height and different battery propulsion system. They also had a large selection of "hybrid" bikes which do not have an electric assist. We did not try those , but the customers returning the bikes at the end of their rentals seemed happy. They have a nice and warm indoor tryout/practice area to get comfortable with the bike before renting them out. They also have restrooms and water including water bottle for purchase and a water fountain. They were very patient with us and other customers while we were trying the bikes. They explained the bike trails (including the highlights, some tips form wildlife sighting and the parts to be careful in) and suggested us some of the routes that we can take. I would consider this rental location above others as this is larger, is located nearest to the start of the coastal trail and had a large selection of bikes.

Store was clean, had a great open area to test ride and staff adjusted seats for comfort.

One of the absolute best car rental specialists I've ever dealt with. And I do lots of car rentals all over the world. She is a professional, patient, pleasant, sweet, and really deserves to be in the position of customer service because she's phenomenal. I booked in advance and got an excellent deal and Marina gave me a great car that was fitting for my exact needs. I've lived in Anchorage, Alaska for 60 years I've driven on the ice and the snow since I was 14 Our cars broke down so I needed a rental I rented at RAV4 "or similar" on the Internet When I get down there, the car given to me some Subaru cross track I thought all Subarus four-wheel-drive it's not what I really wanted but I figured big four-wheel-drive. It would work. NOT! Worse car on ice on the planet. Within 10 minutes I've done two 360s going down international Airport Road I thought maybe it was me Later on, it did another 360 spinning out going down northern lights I got out and looked at the tires Summer tires no studs! WTF!!! I thought what the fuck!!! I have more experience than 99.9% of the drivers in Anchorage And I found this car virtually undrivable I managed to get back to Avis At the airport And returned it I was given a different car To find out that snow, tires and studs are an extra expense! Not joking. Safety is extra!! Let me repeat that In Anchorage, Alaska, and the winter when it's snowing and slushy studs and winter tires are extra!! Are you absolutely fucking kidding me!! Worst financial customer service decision on a planet earth!! Clearly, putting safety second I cannot express in writing how irritated I am Good customer service at a bare minimum would've been to let me know that the car that i took driving has summer tires with no studs And that winter tires were out an option that was extra. Before I left!! I've also noticed lately that even though I am an Avis member That the prices are the same, Wether or not a login as a member or just online as an average person There's no benefit whatsoever for being an Avis member It's a waste.

    Wife and I made a reservation last year, but had to post pone it due to the covid outbreak. Ron was…read moresuper helpful in moving our reservation for the following July. We finally got to Anchorage and Ron couldn't have made the check in process better. We arrived, the jeep was waiting for us, paperwork was ready to go. After a brief conversation wife and I were on our way within 45 min, that's including them going over the process of how everything works. We spent 10 days going from Seward, to Whittier, to Denali, to Hatcher's pass, to Palmer and back...1,009 miles. When we returned the vehicle the check out process was super easy, again Ron even drove us to our hotel. This definitely was a trip full of memories and our 1st trip to Alaska. We thank you Ron for making it an easy and a pleasant experience for us.

BUT we had so many small little problems with the jeep that it didn't make the whole Alaska experience awesome. John was great, he was super helpful and kind, really nothing to say about him, but Ron was another thing. We called him to tell him we had problems with the car and his response was pretty rude tbh, (I'm paying for the car to be working, right?) and his response was: if you don't want it we don't have another car, you can come back here but i don't promise anything, because we don't have more vehicles, So that's what you get. (like the car was for free). Our radio was broken, we even went to buy some aux cables because maybe it was just the radio, but no, the whole thing was damaged, so we had to buy a new speaker because a roadtrip without music? No fun! One of the windows had so much noise coming in, I don't know if they didn't seal it properly, but it was the most annoying part of the whole jeep, it was super LOUD, and the best of it all, they said it wasn't their fault, that it was "jeeps fault". If you are providing a service you have to make sure everything is perfect and works well, that's the minimum as a company. The right blinker on the front side was broken, the windshield had cracks, the lights on the tent and the sockets in the car weren't working. When we returned the car, we talked about all of these things and we ask for a discount or money back, and they gave as a 50 dollar bill, at that moment I didn't know if I had to laugh or cry. Just to make sure, we returned the car, EXTRA CLEAN, inside and outside, it's really nice that they give and provide utensils, pots, pillows and chairs (even tho one of the chair was broken) and we didn't fill the gas completely about 3/4 and the guy said it was alright because all of the things that happened and he dropped us in the airport. As I said before, you can't blame third parties when you are PROVIDING a service. It's your RESPONSIBILITY as a company to deliver and have good quality cars (in this case) we booked our jeep months in advance, so it wasn't a last minute thing, for that we expected a superb car with no issues. I hope they can fix those issues so nobody else has to deal with that :)
