I've shopped Home Depot for many yrs at the Abbott location in Anchorage. This past weekend my sump pump went out. Crawlspace flooded over 2 feet of water. I went to home depot to get flex hose,clamps and duct tape. I had to borrow a pump. The ladies helping me asked if I were buying a pump and I had to explain that I couldn't afford one at the time. Had to wait till payday. Fixed income so you just do what you can and make the best of it. The conversation went on a little, I just felt broken. I got my stuff with everyone helping me and then one of the ladies told me to go to customer service to check out. Those sales ladies had gone and got me a sump pump. There are still kind, caring, people in this world and Home Depot has some angels working in their stores. I can't say thank you enough. If you need something and it's here yes... go inside and get it. If you need help lifting an item and there isn't anyone available because no men are around and no women want to help you because they are women, you're sh*t outta luck. Now, if you do curbside pickup and no one comes out after 20 minutes and you decide call and no one answers then you decide to go in and you tell them that you've been waiting for 20 minutes and there are three people around talking and they say they haven't recorded a notice there was curbside but then one of the guys says your name without you telling them who you are.... Then they say sorry, it's been a hectic busy day but there were three of the day sending around laughing and talking... you're sh*t outta luck. Literally, it's how it is here. I returned a big purchase because the lack of empathy this company has on its customers. Only reason I decided to come here for this small purchase of $400 was the no financing coupon which makes it a good deal out of pocket without gaining interest. read more

Admittedly, we don't shop at Home Depot often because of the lack of customer service and they don't honor the veteran discount on all items, like lumber construction material. With that being said, they were the only one in town to have tool I wanted to gift my husband, so HD was my only option. I worked my way through town and the south side store finally had it in stock. North store didn't have it according to their app, but I wanted to just check, sometimes the numbers are wrong... they were not. Tudor store said they had one in stock and when I arrived, nothing on the shelves. I was unable to find anyone to see if it was up on the steel but no luck, so I headed to Abbott, where the app said there were three in stock. I made my way back and found one, on the bottom. There was a sign stating to ask for assistance to purchase, however there was no one to be found. So I took it upon myself to get the gigantic box into my cart and head to the checkout. This was indeed the nice part of the visit. I went to self checkout and asked the young man if he could attach the veteran discount at that register, which he did. That made checkout pretty fast and out the door I went. A little bit of a bummer that he didn't offer to get someone to help me load it into my truck, but I managed. All in all, a decent visit, but the lack of being able to find someone to assist is still a problem there... it's that sort of 'it is what it is' situations that we've come to expect. read more

Well... maybe at one time the employees fled when you approached them to ask questions.. but I think maybe someone read all these reviews to them.. LOL. Every single time I head over there, regardless of what I'm shopping for, they are incredibly helpful! And BTW.. if you happen to be perusing the website for items on Home Depot and it says they don't ship up here... that is bull hockey. They will bend over backwards to not only ensure you receive whatever they're able to buy in the Lower-48, but they ship in a super timely manner. So KUDOS to all the improvements that have been made! read more

Love the store because of its great selection of home improvements and the other helpful associates here. Been coming to this store for years and just this time been treated rudely. Girl at Paint Department working Tuesday night approximately 7:45pm June 18, 2019 was the worst! Probably tired maybe but such a turd. We politely asked her where we can find an item and she rudely answered "what do you mean?! It's right there!!!" Then rolled her beautiful eyes. Please have a talk with this person because she clearly forgot she needs to be nice and help customers as part of her job description. As of June 19, 2019 Customer Care has respond to the issue. They are not helpful at all and not knowledgeable on their products! As well as don't seem to want to help instead try to avoid people.

Home Depot is a good store overall, but this location needs some serious help with their customer service.

I am pretty disappointed in the fact home depot has quit stocking alot of items like universal hotsurface ignitors..a common part to be replaced in Alaska and the incompetence of employees that think it is acceptable for said appliances to be down for weeks. Also a very limited selection of tool they have quit carrying. Seems like they want people to shop amazon instead. read more

Terrible customer service. Every employee I've spoken to here has had an attitude and didn't seem like they wanted to help. I understand to have one maybe two disgruntled employees but it was literally everyone working the floor. Such a shame and I hope management addresses it. read more

Home remodeling makes me happy. This location has a lot to offer. The staff is so great and always willing to help. It was fun this last time I was here as there was a workshop going on to teach people some remodeling tricks. There was even a guy dressed up in the Home Depot mascot, Homer, which was fun to see everyone get into a frenzy to take a selfie with him. Great way form Home Depot to promote itself on social media! There is a huge selection of items here that make your weekend projects easy to complete. read more

I love this Home Depot! I wanted to get new keys and locks and was in the process of getting new ones. As I was talking to the key man he asked if there were anything wrong with my locks. I said no but wanted new keys. Well wouldn't you know you can get your old locks rekeyed to new keys as long as they are of the same make! It's usually $5 a lock but at this location it's free because Lester used to be a locksmith and really enjoys that aspect of his job. I was so happy and the service was so fast when I brought in my locks. I also bought a bucket and stud finder as I'm on the lookout. Will come to this location again. Thanks Lester! read more

I have purchased carpet and decided to hire home depot to install it. The measuring tech came and took measurements and then we proceeded to wait another 3 weeks for it to arrive and get it installed. Upon installation day, we discovered the measuring tech took incorrect measurements. The home depot carpet installer had already ripped out our old carpet and placed tack strips throughout our home and told us it would be another 3 weeks till the rest of the carpet would come in. I have a baby and a 4 year old son whos feet are now riddled with puncture marks on their feet and knees. read more

recently purchased a new oven to replace a 40-year old oven and opted for home depot's installation. in anticipation of installation issues (connector adapters, etc.), we informed the sales rep that the oven being replaced was ancient. we received the delivery on 8/25, and surprise surprise, the driver-slash-installer came unprepared with zero parts and informed us to call home depot back to reschedule the installation once we had the one adapter that didn't come with the gas line we purchased. the driver was unwilling to return later in the day after we offered to go out and immediately purchase the part needed. home depot was unable to schedule the installation until 8/28, three days without use of a major kitchen appliance left in the middle of our kitchen. on 8/28, the installers had no idea what they were there to do (even though their copy of our invoice clearly had "hook up" written at the bottom) and failed to install the oven flush against the wall (there's a 3" gap between the oven and the wall). i'd say take your business to their major competitor, but i'm afraid they are about as good as installing appliances as the home depot. three days with an uninstalled oven taking up space in our kitchen.. i guess it's a good thing i don't have to feed children. read more

I spent way too much time researching how to write a review on their website.
