Such a gem in Pacifica!!!! You can't miss it. It's right off the highway from Pacifica to Half Moon Bay. I've been wanting to try and am grateful we did! Highly y recommending you book beforehand as the place fills up fast. Once you booked, you pre-pay for everything and just come and enjoy your tea on the day of. This place is so cute! It's located near Rockaway beach, a nice area in Pacifica. There are ample parkings in the back of the store. From outside vibes to the indoor decorations with all the tea sets and cute little tables and small mirrors and trinkets on the walls. It reminded me of Bridgeton and Victoria time. I could spend an entire afternoon here looking at all the cute tea set. Because we had our puppy with us, we opted for an outdoor seating which was equally as nice! Large white-and-yellow-striped umbrellas gave us some needed shades as it was a sunny day. Our table was covered with cute table cloth and everything looks neat and clean. We were started with teas first, and each of us got to pick our own tea. My sis picked the Lychee Rose Green as I had my eyes on the Dragon well. Our teas came out fast and were quickly followed by the yummy high tea display. Starting from the bottom, we had Cucumber with Dill Cream Cheese Chicken, Apple, Walnut, Cranberry Salad Cream Cheese with Guava Jam, Pastrami with Cabbage Salad. This was followed by a warm Scone with Clotted Cream & Jam; a toasted Crumpet with butter & Lemon Curd; and a selection from their Sweet Tray! Picked up a lunch order to go, and decided to briefly stay to taste other items. The black currant scone was delicious as were the crumpets, especially with the clotted cream, raspberry preserves and lemon curd. The spiced citrus tea in the beautiful tea cup was full of flavor. The 2 person staff were welcoming and helpful. The lovely owner explained the details of my order when serving it, down to the adorable heat shaped butter on the crumpets. I always feel bad leaving lower reviews, but this one did not meet any of our expectations (there were 5 of us). Maybe we expected more since we really enjoyed Lovejoy's the last couple times we went there (I believe they share the same owner, but I may be mistaken). While we give the buttery and fragrant scones very high marks, and the salad and the crumpets were ok, the sandwiches and desserts were not great. The bread was dry and the filling was skimpy compared to many other high teas we have tried, and the petit fours were plain and seemed store-bought. The crumpets came after the desserts because they forgot to serve them to us (not a big deal and they were very apologetic). For the price, we expected more than one tiny item from the dessert tray. The teas were all lovely, but they were out of their Pacifica Blue tea which we were specifically looking forward to trying. This is the 12th tea service we have tried in the past couple years, and we find that we prefer teas that include an assortment of more deluxe dessert items (like SIP or Rotunda in SF), and sandwiches that are made with a variety of breads such as rolls or mini croissants along with the traditional sliced bread, and with more generous filling. read more

I dropped in one Friday afternoon with my father-in-law and fell in love with this shop. Same owners as the beloved Lovejoy's Attic in SF, same great energy, and amazing tiny store that packs a punch. Staff were lovely, offered genuine advice including recommendations to check out non-affiliated alternate stores! If it wasn't so far from where we live, I'd be here all the time! Group of friend and I made reservation for this unique tea and Felting class to make a mushroom. I have never done this felting before and it wasn't that hard. I was more focus on making it and almost forgot to eat the teatime sandwiches and drink tea. We shared with others at the table. So it important to eat your portion or others will eat your portion. This was a different unique experience. I don't mind doing another one. The tea service is a bit different from a the original tea service without the class in regards to type of sandwiches but other than that it was good to meet new people and chat or not chat is up to you. To sum it up: Experience high tea holiday style in a cozy setting while chatting away and drinking many pots of tea. You get thirsty from all the talking but it's replenished with the tea. :) My girlies and I tried their Christmas Tea Special ($75/pp) which they require it prepaid in advance to reserve our spot. So when we get there, all we do is pick the tea. There are many tea options, and after thinking out loud with the girlies, we decided on White Peach, Peach Bellini, Mango Tango. Doesn't it sound delicious already? My White Peach tea smelled amazing and also tasted like white peach. I probably drank at least 3 pots of that. When the server brings out our teas, she lets us know how long to steep it for. The Peach Bellini tea tastes great but not as flavorful as my White Peach (I may be biased here lol). The other tea was the Mango Tango and after we trying it, even though it says mango, the hibiscus flower taste overpowered the mango taste. Interestingly, after putting some sugar in the tea, the mango flavor came out. I guess it's called Mango Tango for a reason lol Overall, I really liked the many different teas they offered, but the hard part is trying to decide on one. I'm not sure if I can smell the teas before deciding on one and I didn't see an area at the shop that offered that. But I'm glad I chose a great one :) You can also purchase teas after your tea service. The Christmas Tea special started out with a rustic potato soup, which was thick, filling, and comforting, especially on a cold day. From my photo, you can see the bread that the soup comes with had a heart-shaped butter. So cute! Then came the sandwiches, salad, and clotted cream and jam for the scones in a 3-tier stand. The sandwiches were: 1) Cucumber with dill and cream cheese; 2) ham and mincemeat; 3) goat cheese w/ persimmon and hot honey; 4) smoked salmon with cream cheese/capers and lemon slice on top; and 5) Turkey and cranberry (sorry if I made a mistake; I inhaled that one lol) Each were unique, but we all agreed the open face sandwich with goat cheese and persimmon was our favorite! We then each had a scone and we got to choose our flavors: either lemon/ginger, black currant, honey apricot, or pecans. My black currant scone was warm and paired perfectly with clotted cream and gooseberry jam. We were also able to ask for more cream and jam if needed. The end dessert was a sticky pudding that was very sweet with caramel sauce, I believe. My tooth was actually aching from how sweet the pudding was after a few bites. This place actually sends us the menu ahead of time so we know what to expect to eat, so even though I knew sticky pudding was going to be the dessert item (and in theme with holiday tea), I would have preferred some classic high tea desserts such as petit-fours, macaroons, shortbread cookies, etc, especially for the price of the holiday tea. And unfortunately, we are unable to add any additional items into our tea special (like an extra sandwich or other desserts). Overall, experiencing a holiday tea special is a must, especially if you're a sit and chat, sip and chew, kind of person. It will be pricey, but that's the uniqueness of it. We celebrate all important occasions at Lovey's Tea Shoppe. The ambiance, the food, the service from the owner and her staff is exceptional. We had the Queen's Tea and honestly the endless pot of tea for each of the Queen's Tea was wonderful because we tried each other's tea and the teapots were refilled so we could drink to our heart's content . For dessert, I had the Red Velvet Truffle and the other two had their choice of petit fours, one lemon and one chocolate. We visited Lovey's Tea Shoppe on a Saturday, as walk-ins. The space was small and cozy, with half being a seating area and half a gift shop selling china, packaged foods, jewelry, etc. I liked the floral wallpaper and gold-framed art and mirrors - really fitting for a British tea shop. We were seated right away, given menus, and told to come back up to order at the counter. Unfortunately, they didn't have tea stands available - those are only for the pre-booked afternoon teas. However, all the items on them were seemingly available, which was a bit confusing. My friend and I both ordered Tea Trays, which included 2 Tea Sandwich selections, 1 Warm Scone served with clotted cream and preserves, dessert, and a choice of tea. Most of the Tea Sandwiches that day included ham, so I chose Cucumber Tea Sandwiches, a Black Currant Scone, Macarons for dessert, and Black Vanilla Lavender Tea. The tea came out first, and was surprisingly served in paper to-go cups. When I asked if we could get some tea cups, our server pointed to a bin where we could choose our own. Despite the presentation, the Black Vanilla Lavender Tea was super tasty! The food items came out on plastic trays, which could've been cuter. The Cucumber Tea Sandwiches were very standard - white bread, pretty generous portion size. The best items were easily the scones! They were warm and not dry at all, and I loved the clotted cream. I believe mine came with raspberry or strawberry preserves, but my friend's came with lemon curd, which looked amazing. I wish we got to choose! Lovey's Tea Shoppe is a cute little British tea house, literally a standalone house at the charming seaside town of Pacifica. It's on the side of Pacific Coast Highway 1. Don't drive too fast or you'll miss it. It's always a lovely drive for us. There's limited parking in front but plenty more in the back. We usually get the LOVEY'S TRAY, which includes 2 Tea Sandwiches; 1 Warm Scone with Clotted Cream & Jam, a Petit Four or Truffle plus your choice of Tea $26.50, but everything is sold À la carte as well. Honestly the tea sandwiches are a bit dry and bare, but the scones are FANTASTIC. With the Clotted Cream & Jam on mismatched China, it instantly reminds me of the classic tea room I visited in English. Such a fun way to celebrate your birthday with a High Tea. We had spent my last birthday in Ashland Oregon and went to Loveys Tea Shoppe up there and had a fantastic time so were so excited to find another one in Half Moon Bay Area. We each got our own pot of tea-you choose flavor from a wide variety. Assorted finger sandwiches, salad, scones and crumpets are the main meal. A quaint little old fashioned British tea shop off the highway that's a definite stop if you're on a road-trip. Reservations are recommended but not required and walk ins are welcome if they' have space. We had their tea sandwich platter with a couple of other extras and deliciousness was in full effect! They have a nice selection of teas and some flavors I haven't seen before so now it's an excuse to come back. I visited this tea shop with my daughter on Sunday as a walk-in. Typically, walk-in seating is outside, but they had a small table for two available inside, tucked in the corner, while they prepared the other tables. We were informed that we had an hour before a reserved party arrived, which we agreed to. Upon entering, we were directed to review the menu at the counter and place our order upfront. I ordered tea and added extra macarons for my daughter. After we sat down, I had to request basic items like napkins, cutlery and a stirrer spoon for tea, which should have been provided without asking. The food was a mixed experience--the sandwiches were just okay, but the scones were tasty. I also expected the service to come on a tiered tray, as it does at Lovejoy's, but that wasn't the case. The most disappointing part? The tea was served in a brown paper cup with a teabag sticking out high enough to poke your eye. When I inquired about this, I was told that walk-ins don't receive a teapot--only those with reservations do. Frankly, I was shocked. This is a tea shop specializing in tea service; presentation should be a priority regardless of seating arrangements (see pic). Throughout our visit, no one checked on us or offered to refill our tea with hot water. The lack of attentiveness and poor service made what was supposed to be a special mother-daughter tea experience memorable for all the wrong reasons. read more

Every time I sink my teeth into one of their scones I wonder why I don't go there more often since it is only two blocks from my house. Went for tea service with a few friends. The atmosphere is shabby but not chic. The mismatched cups, saucers and tea pots are charming. The tea options are excellent with something for every taste. The food was traditional English tea food and rather uninspired. The lemon curd was very good. The rest was ok. The chance to chat and sit and enjoy each other's company in an inrushes manner was delightful. The price of $50/person sans tip seemed a bit steep but that is the Peninsula these days. I have passed by Lovey's Tea Shoppe on Hwy 1 and have wanted to try it for a long time. I finally asked my husband to give me an afternoon tea for 3 for my birthday (with 2 of my friends). We had wonderful time. The food was all small bites. Very scrumptious and definitely satisfying. By the time the last sweet came by, we were so full, but I managed to eat the lemon petit four anyway!!! And besides that - so many teas to choose from. The place settings were lovely. Each one was different. We each got our own pot of tea. We each chose a different tea and had a taste of each other's teas. They were all really good. The service was pleasant and attentive. We got a second fill of water in our tea pots. I drank a lot of tea. After that we bought loose tea to take home. Make your reservations early! I booked more than two weeks in advance for a party of three to celebrate my friend's birthday. Lovey's often hosts themed events, like their St. Patrick's Day Tea or Tarot Reading Tea Service, and those tend to sell out quickly, so definitely keep an eye on their website and reserve early. Lovey's is located right off a main road in Pacifica, so you'll need to pull over carefully to park, and it can feel a little tricky with traffic. The shop itself is quite small, with what looked like only five tables, but it's a cozy, charming space with so much care put into each reservation. The service was kind, thoughtful, and personal. After I made reservations, the hostesses followed up to ask about dietary restrictions and sent us the menu ahead of time. One of my friends is vegetarian, and the other is lactose intolerant, so they made custom substitutions for both. I really appreciated the attention to detail and preparation. Our Tea Service included the following: - Organic spring green salad with balsamic-dijon vinaigrette - Sandwich assortment: cucumber with dill-infused cream cheese, ham and apricot jam with market greens, chicken-apple-walnut-cranberry salad, and smoked salmon with cream cheese and capers. If I could provide more than 5-stars I would! We love this place and made the trek from Visalia to Pacifica to enjoy this out of this world location near Rockaway Beach. The ambiance here is very quaint, like walking into your grandmothers house and you have no idea the kind of adventure you are about to experience. We have been coming here for years, yesterday we joined their flower pressing workshop, this was an absolute wonderful experience to work up an appetite. Flowers that have been dried and pressed into glass create a wonderful keepsake to take home. The staff here were excellent and made us feel right at home; their tea selection is outstanding, their Mint raspberry was decadent and light, and the right amount of chocolate flavor! Their sandwiches we could not wrong, all their finger food are made and served with tea. They also offer iced teas if hot tea is not your thing; we loved their Pacifica Blue tea! The service is wonderful, so much attention to detail, a huge shout out to the two ladies that made our family outing here 5-Stars Plus! They knew we might have been late due to traffic and amazingly we made it on time; they still made us feel special along with the groups that kept arriving after us. FINALLY got to swing by after driving by it for years, and already can't wait to go back. First off, the staff was LOVELY. Super helpful with recommendations and very accommodating. The scones were soft and crumbly, raspberry preserves were delicious and the clotted cream was great. We got the cucumber and dill, and salmon and capers sandwiches - both were great. My only gripe was with how the tea is served. I think there's a difference in types of service because I read a few signs talking about times for different service. We got two different types of tea to try but they were served in MASSIVE to go cups. It was hard to accurately portion sugar and milk and it ended up getting cold quickly. Very cute and cozy (read: tiny) tea shop serving high tea in Pacifica. You book a tea time online for Fridays, Saturdays, and occasionally on Thursdays or Sundays (depending on time of year). There are usually 2 seatings: 11:00am and 2:00pm. And it's typically $50 for 4 savory tea sandwiches, green salad mix, scone with clotted cream and jam, buttered crumpet, and one sweet from a selection of cookies or mini-cakes--taxes and gratuity included in the $50. The sandwiches are fine--nothing spectacular or particular: a thin slice of roast beef with horseradish mayo, cucumber and cream cheese, cheddar and apple, and I think there was a smoked salmon one. The scone by far was the star--we had a choice of currant or lemon ginger. Warm and very tender, paired perfectly with the clotted cream and raspberry jam. The crumpet was OK--a bit tough and could have risen a bit more. The cookie from the sweets selection was a standard sugar cookie that had cute decorations. Tea selection was pretty extensive. I enjoyed my jasmine green tea, but my companion thought her Darjeeling was a bit weak. The interior is charming, like grandma's parlor with its wallpaper print and ceramic tea ware. It's a quite a small space, which probably could fit about 10-12 people in total. The value is pretty good! Call me hoity toity, but "Queen's Service" without a tiered treat stand or ceramic cups was perplexing, especially considering that they have loads of china for sale in their shop. Are they a thrift store that happens to serve tea? Sandwiches were dainty enough and the petit fours were cute though. It's like an old fashioned tea cup shop with lovely things to buy too. Much to appreciate beyond the worn yet cute esthetic. The food is good, not fancy, not gourmet or like grandma's either. I came here on a hot, sunny Sunday afternoon with my mom. We had just walked from the beach and needed something to cool us down. This place caught my eye and reading the reviews from Yelp got me even more curious. The place is cute and quaint inside and I'm glad we decided to come in. It was great to have some rest from our walk and my mom appreciated the fact that she could sit down. We were greeted at the door when we entered despite the fact that she was busy with guests. The customer service was so nice. The personnel gave suggestions to what would be good and was very accommodating. The berry tea had mint and berries with it. It was very refreshing. Everything came out warm and placed beautifully on a tray. The crumpets are delicious with the fresh lemon curd. The blank currant scones were amazing with the heavy cream and jam. Absolutely everything about this place is a delight, from the ease of online ordering, to the helpfulness of the staff, to the deliciousness of the tea and food. I placed an online order in advance for their tea for one. I chose their ham sandwiches, strawberry and cream cheese sandwiches, and chocolate tea. I indicated to warm up my scone and tea. The shop was easy to find with ample parking. There was a bit of a wait to pick up my order as the shop was a bit busy. When my order was brought out beautifully wrapped on a tea tray with dried flowers, I was flummoxed. I am used to take out orders being thrown haphazardly into a bag, and was planning to just eat said bag food in my car. This was a whole presentation. The shop assistant noticed my flabbergasted state and gently walked me through how to best set up my tea, indicating that future orders could be bagged if needed. But at this point, I was all in. Being from out of town, I took my tea to a nearby beach, set up shop on a small cliff, and enjoyed a transcendent experience of tea by the sea. In my reverie, I'd forgotten to grab a fork and so I didn't get to enjoy the salad. But everything else was an absolute delight. In particular, I am still dreaming about my scone. Cute lil tea shop. Chestnut tea was so good! Literally smells like milk tea without the sugar. Who knew English tea could be better than the boba shop/Asian tea. The little sandwiches were nice to snack on. Def a cute place to go with your friends/live out ur tea time fantasies without being super Bougie. Service was standard -- I wish the tea was served in some tea ware but am glad I got a full big cup with their current layout. read more

My bestie and I had our afternoon tea here back in late September, and it was a lovely experience. She knew that I had Lovey's bookmarked for awhile, but haven't gotten the chance to try them out yet. So she made a reservation for us with ordering ahead the items that we were going to have. I chose the rose tea which was pretty lovely tasting. I remember she got coffee instead of tea that day. Upon arriving there, I really need to use the restroom so the lady gave me the key and told me direction of the restroom. It's so cute inside there! And clean too! Our tea set was served in a silver plastic-y but elegant platter. It's supposed to be like a one time used type of dishware, but I took it home anyways because I thought maybe my mom would want to reuse it. ? Lol Service was friendly and attentive. Stopped in for tea and was disappointed at the disposable cups and tray of stodgy tea sandwiches. We thought it strange that we had to have reservations to get real teacups and a real pot of tea. Such a tacky arrangement for paying customers and makes no sense. I mean spending more than 50 bucks for paper cups. The proprietors obviously have no sense of ambience which is dismal cause the place has potential. The scones are perfect and delicious, the tea was tasty and better than most. Not sure I would stop in again, not memorable enough. Lastly, again for ambience the staff might want to rethink their wardrobe. Jeans and t-shirts really distracted from the English tea theme. read more
