Simple coffee shop right next to lovers point beach. They've got coffee and sandwiches with seasonal specials posted by the front. Plenty of outdoor seating. Can't beat the view, and prices are reasonable especially for the location.

The food is excellent. I'd probably give it a 9 out of 10. I do like the gluten free clam chowder and their fries are so good and different from anywhere else. The view is amazing! Staff is friendly and super helpful and accommodating. I eat here pretty frequently whenever I'm working in the area. At night they have a heated enclosed patio so you can still hear the waves while you dine. Excellent cocktail options. Menu has something for everyone.

I came here to get a drink and food after we went to the beach. The place was crowded and had a few tables but they were allWe ordered the chai latte and grilled cheese.

Cute coffee spot with lots of seating, and stunning views. I've only gotten coffee here, always delicious and to my liking. Friendly service from person taking my order and another one making coffee were both personable.. even shared a few laughed I like to stop here while I'm on my walk.

One of the most delicious double espresso shots ever. Added a pump of caramel sauce and the server was polite and smiled when taking my order. The eating areas were very clean considering it literally sit a few yards from the beach. Not much sand on the floor at all

This place has it all! Great seating and ambiance, friendly staff and amazing sandwiches! For the picky eater there are hot dogs and grilled cheese sandwiches. For the more adventurous pallet there are my favorites the Cuban with ham and spicy sauce and the new vegetarian smash burger made with jackfruit! Full coffee bar as well, for whatever your coffee needs are!

This is by far one of the best places to get a mid day sandwich from. I always go out of my way to stop here when I come to Monterey. 10/10 sandwiches/ paninis are the BEST. Fast service. Fresh food. Customer service is wonderful here as well!

Unfortunately, the only thing good about this place is the ocean view. If not for that they have nothing going for them. We ordered a banana muffin and a strawberry matcha latte. The banana muffin was extremely mushy on the inside and smelled funky, fermented and rotten sour. I had to spit the bite I took out and my friend refused to try it. She did smell it and confirmed it was bad. I've never had a muffin that god awful. So I went back and told them the muffin is bad. They tossed it and offered another selection. So I got the cinnamon roll. They offered to heat it up. I should have known that's a sign that the cinnamon roll was not freshly baked as well. We took a bite and the outside was hard, dry and stale. The inside was okay and soft which is how the entire roll should be. Then I had some strawberry matcha latte and it was like sweet like syrup! I went back to ask for hot water and used up 3/4 of the cup to dilute the matcha latte. Then we used their restroom and it was filthy!! The vent had nasty lint and dirt hanging off of it. There was no ventilation and it was just stuffy. The corner of the bathroom had cobwebs. Whoever owns this place has zero pride in their establishment and could care less about their customers health both in food and hygiene.

Friendly, fast service and pretty average prices. We got an iced vanilla matcha and a hot mocha. Both were phenomenal, so delicious! Not sure why they have poor reviews, I think this place is lovely! Right next to the coast so the views are beautiful. Highly recommend :)

In front of the cafe a beautiful view of the sea . We ordered the Lovers point club, Egg & Ham Croissant and Large Iced Mocha for lunch . The cafe has seating indoor and outdoor..self seating and service Order to the Cashier and pick up the food when the staff call your name. Sandwich and Egg Croissant were Warm and yummy.

Ah, the views is perfect. This cafe is kissed by the fog most mornings. A loving kiss indeed. You can feel the positive vibe. The view us 5 stars, however the hot chocolate is only three stars. It is not easy to meet the 5-star threshold. I do admit I have high expectations. The chocolate should be scalding and almost syrupy. Let's not skimp on that magical cocoa bean that in bygone days only the king could eat/drink. Back to the cafe, it is worth a visit after a short walk along the shore. Great staff.

Located right next to the Lover's Point parking lot, this cute cafe serves up plenty of delectable items, like breakfast sandwiches, crab salad panini, chocolate chip muffins, hot cocoa, and various coffee beverages. I got the croissant egg sandwich with bacon, and an iced mocha. Everything was made fresh and yummy, I even watched the bacon sizzle on the grill. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating, with tabletops that actually light up with scenes of the ocean, and the actual ocean outside as a beautiful backdrop to this awesome spot. And the staff was friendly, adding to the bright and welcoming atmosphere.

I guess it's no secret anyway, best brunch i've had in years…read more The metropolitan bay area is known for the world-class food and renowned cuisines, but we have so much to learn from a quaint and unassuming cafe in a small coastal town. Situated on a cute corner away from the madness of the wharf, we found plenty of parking right outside, got seated immediately, and got a great corner booth between the window and the fireplace. Ambiance: The decor was homely but stately. It was certainly busy but the workers were on it with the bevs and ordering. It was quietly bustling but the dining experience was anything but. It felt like I was having Christmas morning at my really rich but super down-to-earth aunt's lake house who is married to the senator of vermont and im in the running as her favorite niece. (im just talking out of my butt here. i have no clue what that feeling's like but i THINK this is close) Ordered: - Crabcake benedict to share: BEST. BENEDICT. Lots of variations here. Croissant, crabcake, poached egg, hollandaise, added avocados, comes with potatoes on the side. The croissant was a welcomed substitute, crabcakes light, hollandaise warm and classic. The crossaint was still warm and flakey, didnt get soggy by the sauces. the crabcake fresh, light, and unbattered. the potatoes were sweet, al-dente, and seasoned to perfection. No notes! - Crabcake to share: just extra crabcakes here but it also comes with a beautiful salad that was thoughtfully complimentary. Crisp and young arugula topped with feta, caramelized onions, and dressed with a light vinaigrette that wasn't tart. The salad really changed what i thought a side salad can be. yom. - Fresh squeezed orange juice: Not too sweet, not a tinge of sour, flavorful, light but not watery, not pulpy, and a generous portion. Definitely made my morning. - Cappuccino: Very full-bodied, foamy, not too sweet. Though I personally would perfer a touch more sweetness but a very personal preference and would like simple syrup to adjust. Perfect for my partner who ordered it and is watching his glucose level. Compared to the Bay Area's over-the-top fusion brunches and long waitlists of bottomless lychee mimosas, the Red House Cafe's attention to detail and commitment to quality was really grounding. I will definitely be adding this hot spot to my itinerary anytime i'm driving past the coast.

The fun artwork and paintings throughout the restaurant added so much personality and made the space even more enjoyable. We started with the duck pâté and bread. The pâté was silky smooth with just a hint of sweetness, paired perfectly with the toasted bread. It literally melted in your mouth. The octopus with bean and honey sauce was another standout. The sauce complemented the octopus beautifully. The octopus itself was incredibly tender and soft -- not chewy at all -- and honestly reminded me of some amazing octopus I had while visiting Portugal. The mussels came in a very generous portion, and the tomato sauce was so good you could drink it by itself. For our mains, we had the sea scallops and the seared tuna, and both dishes were excellent. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtful, and well executed. The coffee and tea cups were the Bodum brand, great quality, double-lined, and they kept the drinks warm while still being comfortable to hold. Definitely a memorable dinner in Pacific Grove, and I'd gladly come back again.

The inside has a rustic, laid-back vibe to it. Our waiter was attentive and nice - he did forget our two glasses of wine until we reminded him when our entrees came out. They did comp the wines at the end though, which was nice. As for food, we got the mussels and octopus to start. The mussels were cooked well and the broth was good. Liked the sourdough accompaniment a lot, especially dipped in the sauce/broth. The octopus was very interesting as well with the black bean honey sauce. Sweet yet had a sort of earthy/nuttiness to it. It had a very Asian influence to it, compared to the typical Italian or Greek method of preparing octopus. For entrees we got the seared duck breast and sea scallops. Scallops were a tad salty but were cooked well and had a buttery taste. I appreciated all the veggies it came with and made the dish very clean-tasting. Duck breast was very soft and easy to cut. Polenta was cooked well too and the chard gave a nice touch of green to the dish. The entire dish felt very comforting. We finished off with the apple cake and chocolate pot. Both were tasty, although the apple cake was a bit better. I enjoyed the ice cream and the cake had crispy edges and soft inside. Chocolate pot was smooth and easy to eat, and wasn't overly rich.

The trout appetizer was tasty... The cracker it was served on was super hard and a bit hard to chew. So... I skipped that and didn't feel I was missing anything. The crab salad was filled with chunks of crab! It was lightly dressed to let the crab shine. Our mains were quite tasty and perfectly prepared. As we are walking to our car, one of the workers comes out running to us and asked us to pay for the drinks that we didn't even fully drink, we had taken a few sips when we saw the roach. We went back in and spoke to the supervisor on duty and told him we weren't paying for something that we didn't drink and he continued to insist we pay for it. The audacity these people had to even ask us to pay for two drinks that were barely touched after having a roach crawling through their restaurant is ridiculous. We didn't want to cause any trouble with the existing customers that the business had which is why we left quietly the first time, but for them to chase after us as we are leaving demanding we pay for two drinks was shocking considering the situation. This picture of the roach doesn't even do justice to how big it was. It almost seemed so normal to the staff with the presence of a roach.
