2.5 stars I've had much stronger coffee even with two shots of espresso so I was surprised with how milky and weak my large white mocha macchiato was at 3 shots. Then for the barista to say "seriously?" and rolling his eyes when I told him that I asked for iced, I understand that was at the situation and of course not at me. After completing the Big Sur 11 miler, I had the biggest headache and needed my caffeine fix. This coffee shop was adjacent to my hotel and literally a few feet away from the exit/entrance. It's a smaller shop with breakfast and various coffees. I got a large hazelnut latte which I enjoyed with an ocean view. Outside the entrance is a skywalk with a terrace and tables where you can sit, enjoy your coffee and admire the view. It was perfect. read more

There's a bench where you can sit down and enjoy your cup of coffee- which is what I did and it was great. The london fog unfortunately was WAY too hot and burned the whole roof of my mouth off. Still tasty, though. Parking is a bit tricky right around the area, mostly meters and paid parking. I was afraid that it was going to be too sweet, but I have to say that it was surprisingly balanced where you definitely still get coffee flavor. Cons I would say are their whole beans don't have a roasting date and the barista i encountered seemed bland/borderline rude. We grabbed ourselves a croissant, chicken salad croissant sandwich, and an iced tea. Portion sizes for the food are tiny, and I guess are justified by the location. I would say that the sandwich and croissant are roughly 1/3 smaller than what you would find at a typical cafe. It appears that the sandwiches are made off-site and prepared in advance. So the croissant was not necessarily the freshest. Nonetheless, the beautiful views and ambience more than made up for the subpar food quality. There aren't many other fast casual options in the Cannery District of Monterey. So if you're looking for a picture perfect location for your afternoon snack or lunch, Tidal Coffee is worth a stop! read more

I ordered the mocha with dark chocolate syrup, which was delicious and well balanced, and my husband got the iced americano with vanilla. They initially gave his drink hot instead of iced, but it was quickly corrected. We were a bit disappointed that they ran out of the PBJ sandwiches we were really looking forward to trying. This is such a cute coffee shop right off Cannery Row. They have a decent selection of breakfast options such as pastries, breakfast sandwich, and even breakfast burritos. The coffee menu here is robust as well. I went with my classic cold brew with a splash of almond milk and a half pump of hazelnut syrup. When I first looked at the cold brew through the sunlight, it seemed thin (see my pic) but it had a very bold and rich flavor that I thoroughly enjoyed! The ham and cheese croissant was much larger than I thought it would be and very filling. This was made with actual slices of ham and two pieces of what I believe to be Muenster cheese. This coffee shop has an indoor small indoor seating area and an awesome outdoor seating area that overlooks the ocean. We sat outside and enjoyed the morning sun. Technically this coffee shop is part of Monterey Bay Plaza Hotel and spa. Which means, if you purchased coffee, you're allowed to go inside and enjoy their massive and heated lobby that also overlooks the ocean. As I was walking up to grab my order, a lady cut in front of me and took my drink. I was shocked and irritated because she confirmed with him that it was her drink, and it seemed purposeful. The barista making drinks was so kind and quickly remade me one. Although that put a bit of a damper on the experience, the kindness and quick response from the barista made up for it. The Mexican Mocha was delicious, but was a bit milky for my preference. I thought the price was good for Monterey, and the location is unbeatable. Was driving by and was drawn in by the window sign advertising soup and coffee. But found they had no soup. The inside of the coffee place was pleasant and the view of the ocean was beautiful. However the staff could be friendlier at the register. We ordered Cubano and turkey panini, 1 regular mocha, 1 decaf mocha and cappuccino. The meat in the cubano was mushy and seemed like old meat. The coffee was absolutely amazing and good but the decaf seemed caffeinated. The staff don't call out for our coffees but when I asked if it was for me they said "yeah" very flatly and dismissive. Came in for a quick pick-me-up on a Sunday at around 3:30pm. The space is super cute, and the service is great! We came right around closing so there wasn't too many people inside. We were able to order right away and sat inside to finish our drink and sorbet. The frozen coffee was excellent! Zero sweetness and great consistency (it's basically a coffee frappe). Unfortunately the sorbet wasn't really for us - it was a bit overly sweet and a tad more on the artificial side. In the future I'd be open to trying a different flavor. Delicious coffee!!!!! I would highly recommend. Once we found out about this place, we went every morning on our vacation. Great seating area in and outside. Service was great! Breakfast burrito was good and shareable, also the salsa for the burrito was very good. We had an americano and lavender latte. I did have to add another shot to my lavender latte to make it less milky but I bet I could of asked for less milk. But hey another espresso shot was good with me. Try this place out. read more
