I had a great experience during my visit. The coffee was fresh, smooth, and exactly what I needed while exploring Cannery Row. The staff was welcoming, and my order was made quickly even though it was busy. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it a nice place to relax for a few minutes before heading back out. I also loved the location it's just steps from the waterfront, so it was the perfect stop while walking around and taking in the beautiful views. If you're in the area and looking for a good cup of coffee with friendly service, this is definitely worth a visit. I would happily come back the next time I'm in Monterey.
Tidal Coffee is a really nice location and has great service. Think Starbucks, but significantly nicer. The coffee and tea drinks are numerous, we had a mocha along with chai tea, both were quite pleasant. The star, however, was the fresh fruit platter, the fruit was freshly cut and tasted farm fresh. There is a nice seating area with tables, if you prefer open air, next to the shop or you can wander a few steps and enjoy your coffee looking out at the Monterey Bay.
I was so happy to find a coffee shop within walking distance of our hotel because it made grabbing a morning drink so convenient. I ordered the iced matcha latte with oat milk, and it honestly exceeded my expectations. The sweetness was just right and not overly sugary. The ratio of ice to drink was perfect, so it didn't get watered down too quickly. The matcha itself had a smooth, earthy flavor that tasted fresh and authentic while still being well balanced and creamy with the oat milk. If you're a matcha fan looking for a refreshing drink that isn't overly sweet, I'd definitely recommend stopping by and giving this one a try!
I decided to try one of their specials which was a white strawberry mocha. I was afraid that it was going to be too sweet, but I have to say that it was surprisingly balanced where you definitely still get coffee flavor. Other pros are that it is located in a nice little area overlooking the water and they have outdoor seating. Cons I would say are their whole beans don't have a roasting date and the barista i encountered seemed bland/borderline rude. I walked over but parking seems to be street meter parking that could be a little rough on availability.
Great little coffee shop with delicious drinks, pastries, and easy-to-grab food. It's cute and cozy inside with limited seating, but the outdoor patio overlooking the ocean is fantastic. I got a hot chocolate for my toddler at kid temp (thank the staff for suggesting that!) and a london fog for myself. The london fog unfortunately was WAY too hot and burned the whole roof of my mouth off. Still tasty, though. Parking is a bit tricky right around the area, mostly meters and paid parking. There is also no restroom. You'll have to duck into the hotel next door.
We went to Tidal Coffee after eating at Schooners and the vibes were great. Drinking coffee with the water front view is just amazing! There's a bench where you can sit down and enjoy your cup of coffee- which is what I did and it was great. Service was nice and quick; I got a small iced vanilla latte and it was a little too milky for my liking, but maybe that's because it only had one shot. Next time I will ask for two shots and I think it'll be better!
Located next to the Monterey Plaza Hotel, Tidal Coffee offers a quick refreshing drink and food stop with beautiful views of the Monterey Bay. I recently came here looking for a lunch spot to grab a light snack and drink. This cafe is conveniently located towards the back of the hotel, offering beautiful views of the bay from its expensive patio with plenty of outdoor dining spaces. We grabbed ourselves a croissant, chicken salad croissant sandwich, and an iced tea. Portion sizes for the food are tiny, and I guess are justified by the location. I would say that the sandwich and croissant are roughly 1/3 smaller than what you would find at a typical cafe. It appears that the sandwiches are made off-site and prepared in advance. So the croissant was not necessarily the freshest. Nonetheless, the beautiful views and ambience more than made up for the subpar food quality. There aren't many other fast casual options in the Cannery District of Monterey. So if you're looking for a picture perfect location for your afternoon snack or lunch, Tidal Coffee is worth a stop!
Walked over from the Main Street in Monterey since we were just strolling in the area. They have an extensive menu and sell a lot of local goods. The matcha tasted like milk, which isn't a bad thing if you don't like the taste of matcha? Service was good. Ambience was nice since it was by the water. Not a lot of indoor seating, but a good amount outside
One of my favorite coffee stops in the Monterey area! I've visited here with every visit to California and it does not disappoint. This time around I got a breakfast sandwich which was really tasty! The coffee is very good and I like the variety in their fun monthly menu. Lots of employees there to keep the line moving. And don't forget to sit outfit and enjoy the amazing views.
Service -3.5/5 Ambiance- 4/5 It's atmosphere pays homage to John Steinbeck like a few other places on Cannery Row. Food- 3.5/5 The matcha tea was standard but the breakfast burrito, although lukewarm, was pretty good!
Tidal Coffee is in a great location and overall worth a visit. I ordered the mocha with dark chocolate syrup, which was delicious and well balanced, and my husband got the iced americano with vanilla. They initially gave his drink hot instead of iced, but it was quickly corrected. We were a bit disappointed that they ran out of the PBJ sandwiches we were really looking forward to trying. Aside from that small hiccup, the coffee was great and we'd definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

With no schedule on a Friday morning, I decided to get something for breakfast. A short walk from my hotel on the less busy side of Cannery Row, I walked in a little after 9 am. A few people were waiting to order and more customers walked in as I studied the menu. I jumped into the line and after a short wait, placed my order. Rather than carrying my breakfast and beverage back to my hotel, I decided to enjoy the sights and sounds from their outdoor dining area. The expediter called my name and I shortly brought my purchases to a table facing the bay. Five stars for the location alone. Huge patio overlooking the bay. I ordered a raspberry iced latte. Not too sweet but I wish I could taste the coffee a little more. I should have asked if their syrups are made in house and/or the brands. I did not get a chance to try any food items but they sounded delicious! Service was very kind, casual, and patient! Their website is awesome by the way! Very coastal zen. read more
2.5 stars I've had much stronger coffee even with two shots of espresso so I was surprised with how milky and weak my large white mocha macchiato was at 3 shots. It took the cashier a while to type in my order in the system which is fine but I was surprised that the order was put in for hot instead of iced. Then for the barista to say "seriously?" and rolling his eyes when I told him that I asked for iced, I understand that was at the situation and of course not at me. All that, only for the coffee to not be good anyways. Disappointed and cannot recommend this place. read more

View from the dog friendly, outdoor seating area can't be beat on a sunny day. For Monterey area, the prices for coffee, snacks and food were very reasonable. Technically, you don't have to buy anything here to enjoy the public tables outside but we would like to support the local business. Bathrooms are available inside the hotel, downstairs from the lobby. Enjoy! read more

This is such a cute coffee shop right off Cannery Row. They have a decent selection of breakfast options such as pastries, breakfast sandwich, and even breakfast burritos. The coffee menu here is robust as well. I went with my classic cold brew with a splash of almond milk and a half pump of hazelnut syrup. When I first looked at the cold brew through the sunlight, it seemed thin (see my pic) but it had a very bold and rich flavor that I thoroughly enjoyed! The ham and cheese croissant was much larger than I thought it would be and very filling. This was made with actual slices of ham and two pieces of what I believe to be Muenster cheese. This coffee shop has an indoor small indoor seating area and an awesome outdoor seating area that overlooks the ocean. We sat outside and enjoyed the morning sun. Technically this coffee shop is part of Monterey Bay Plaza Hotel and spa. Which means, if you purchased coffee, you're allowed to go inside and enjoy their massive and heated lobby that also overlooks the ocean. Pro Tip: Stop at Tidal Coffee right before you take the scenic 17 Mile Drive tour of Pebble Beach. read more
Conveniently located at the Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa, Tidal opens early for the area and stays open until around 4. A good option if you have an early morning tour and need a quick bite and coffee on the go. The staff were always friendly and helpful as well. read more

I got a Dirty Oat Chai and my sister got an Almond Milk Latte. Chai was yummy, it wasn't too sweet (which I like) and had a spicy kick. Nothing special but they were good. Service was okay. Line moved quick but we weren't greeted and when it was our turn to order we didn't get a hello or a what would you like. Just stood there awkwardly while the barista stared at me with a blank face. I didn't know if I should just start ordering or wait for her to say something.. it was just a weird experience read more

Was driving by and was drawn in by the window sign advertising soup and coffee. But found they had no soup. The inside of the coffee place was pleasant and the view of the ocean was beautiful. However the staff could be friendlier at the register. We ordered Cubano and turkey panini, 1 regular mocha, 1 decaf mocha and cappuccino. The meat in the cubano was mushy and seemed like old meat. The coffee was absolutely amazing and good but the decaf seemed caffeinated. The staff don't call out for our coffees but when I asked if it was for me they said "yeah" very flatly and dismissive. Our bill was almost $80 not so sure it's worth it. read more
Came in for a quick pick-me-up on a Sunday at around 3:30pm. The space is super cute, and the service is great! We came right around closing so there wasn't too many people inside. We were able to order right away and sat inside to finish our drink and sorbet. The frozen coffee was excellent! Zero sweetness and great consistency (it's basically a coffee frappe). Unfortunately the sorbet wasn't really for us - it was a bit overly sweet and a tad more on the artificial side. In the future I'd be open to trying a different flavor. Horrible customer service and zero aura. The location is amazing and the patio vibes are immaculate but the people working have a RBS. Got the matcha latte, make sure to ask for sweetener bc they won't bother to recommend it read more

My bf got the macchiato and that was very good!! On the other hand I got the chai tea latte and didn't really like it since I like my chai to be sweeter. Nice coffee place with excellent views outside and plenty of seating :) read more
