First time customer. We wanted to try somewhere new. Rarely is pizza inedible. This was one of those rarities. The dough looked cooked but the top side tasted uncooked. The cheese was strong and pungent and very thick and just laid there heavy on top of the dough under blobs of sauce that was bitter but bland. I tried to eat it but it made me queasy. It seems that this place either has very low or absolutely no standards. I was desperate and in a rush and the first thing you see walking in aside from dingy place itself are the ready slices that looked like they'd been sitting out for days, grey stale looking cheese and one with half of the crust gone. I asked for fresh slices and would've had to wait so I foolishly ordered a chicken caesar wrap. Lettuce was soggy and brownish yellow. Straight in the garbage $11 down the drain. I am DISAPPOINTED. I was craving a good cheesesteak today, literally 30 mins ago. In my 40 years of living in Philly, this is the worst cheesesteak I've ever had the unfortunate luck to try. I picked it up 10 mins after ordering it. I live about a minute away... so it should not be soggy when I open the wrap. The freakin thing was soaked in oil(?). The worst part is, it was the blandest and most flavorless cheesesteak I've ever had. If you're going to make it woth Whiz... use the real thing. The wings... they were salty. I've done fast food and fried takeouts in the past. The wings are just Wing Dings they sell at the Restaurant Depot. And the sauce... not sweet at all. I like this cheesesteak. At the recommendation of the nice young man behind the counter I got the mega cheesesteak. It came with fried onions, mushrooms, pepperoni, extra cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. It also came at the cost of $12.95. I'm starting to see why people get mad at me for complaining about $12 cheesesteaks. This Cheesesteak had a lot of flavor. I don't know if it was the pepperoni or the extra cheese but this Cheesesteak has a lot of flavor. The meat was a thicker slice and worked perfectly with the extra cheese and pepperoni. The roll was good but the fried onions and mushrooms got a little lost. This was a good cheesesteak. read more

First of all I've never eaten here. I live up the street and this place looks so dirty from the outside. I love pizza but i will never try here. The windows are filthy. They were shut down for a health code violation a while back, and guess what? There is a sign on their door, shut down again, for health code violations since end of january. I logged onto Yelp for the first time in months to make this post. I am not a big yelper. But it needs to be stated how good this particular pizza is that is not on the menu but they'll make it for you if asked. It's called the Indian Style Spicy Chicken Kheema Pizza. It's the best pizza I've had in my 20 years living in this area. No sauce, just spicy chicken, onions and Indian flavors that I can't identify. So so so good. Also, in general, these guys have really stepped up their game in the last year. Good specials that change every week, sent via text, and good creative menu experimentation, like this item here. Good pizza, convenient location, and friendly staff - all the makings of a great neighborhood pizza place. You gotta love the local pizza place. Lovecchio's is the quintessential mom-and-pop pizza parlor, conveniently located right next to a beer distributor. Ordering through Yelp's EAT24 App, I was able to pick up the pizza is approximately 20 minutes during dinner hours. The parking lot is really small, and backing out you need to turn in the street, so keep your eyes peeled for traffic coming from both directions. The pizza itself was very good - my girlfriend and I got the 16" Hawaiian Pizza and added hot peppers all for around $20. I paid for the whole thing through the app and picked it up from a very jokey staff. The pizza was really good - solid crust, lots of toppings, and the right amount of pizza sauce. My only complaint was the crust was a bit soggy in the center. Of course I'm nitpicking as the pizza was still delicious. Overall, I plan on coming here as often as I can as my go-to for pizza. read more

Lovecchio's is pretty standard pizza. Greasy, filling, chewy crust, big slices, ample red sauce... everything you'd expect from a go-to pizza place. The staff is pretty friendly, and once when their credit card machine wasn't working they gave me $1 off because I went to get cash. As others have said it's right next to a beer distributor, so if you're looking for pizza and beer you really can't go wrong. Overall this is not the kind of gourmet pizza place you go for specialty artichoke-mushroom-goat-cheese combinations, but it's a place you find yourself gravitating towards for an easy take-home dinner option. If you save 10 of the cut-out coupons on the boxes you get a free pizza, which I have yet to accomplish. Too bad I still can't pronounce "Lovecchio's." read more

I ordered delivery through GrubHub and my order came hot and fresh about 35 minutes sooner than GrubHub expected which is a major plus. The only negative on delivery was the nasty comment that "Ew....You look like you're having a rough day." Yes, I'm at home sick from the flu and it's none of your business to comment on me coming to the door in pajamas and a sweatshirt. You got a 25% tip regardless of whether you were tardy or not. It was extremely unprofessional. I ordered a Chicken Parmesan Platter which came nice and hot, but it was made with prefrozen chicken fingers. It's hard to justify a $16.95 price tag with 2 prefrozen chicken fingers, sauce, cheese and a handful of pasta. The garlic roll was quite good, but the salad was included with the chicken parm on delivery so the heat completely wilted the salad and rendered it inedible. It had been years since I had ordered from Lovecchio's so I decided to order a pizza the other night after it popped up as an option on Yelp. The ordering process on Yelp is super easy, so I am happy that they offer that option. It took about an hour and 10 minutes for my medium pizza with pepperoni to arrive, and when it did, it was room temperature and did not have the quality that I remembered. I was disappointed in the size of the pie for $10.50, but I was appreciative of the amount of pepperoni on the pie for its size (silver lining?). Cheese and sauce were fine, but I probably won't be ordering again because of the other quality options in the area. read more

Because I'm both car-less and lazy, this review only pertains to my experience with delivery. I've ordered Lovecchio's pizza by way of GrubHub on a number of occasions. The delivery guys have always been friendly and good-humored, even with my inability to provide useful directions to the entryway of my apartment complex, which typically results in the unlucky employee taking a labyrinthine journey around the building. The food has always arrived rapidly, in a fresh and piping hot state - to the point I'm almost convinced they've built ovens into their cars so they can hang outside your dwelling and cook your order there. There's clearly no other logical explanation. Pizza is the usual semi-greasy, thin crust type you'd expect from a local, no-frills pizza joint. While I've had pizza I've enjoyed more from other pizza places, Lovecchio's is overall a solid choice for a quick and satisfying delivery pizza on the Main Line. read more

They have chicken wings, fries, burgers, Philly cheesesteak, pasta dishes, sandwiches, etc, etc. we got their pepperoni pizza and another pizza with green peppers and sausage. I ordered a chef salad that per every online menu was a chef salad with ham, turkey, roast beef, provolone cheese, cucumbers etc. What I got was a salad with ham, onions, olives(???) and sweet peppers. I called and was told that I must have had an 'old menu' because their chef salad only had ham now. I called back after looking online and seeing every current menu was clearly what I had ordered. I'm torn about this place. On the one hand, it brings back memories and occupies this rare spot in my mind where I can think about something related to high school and not suddenly become deeply depressed. My current relationship to the business stands with it being my favorite local pizza place, with some of the best topping combinations and quickest delivery around. Once an order came with pizza not how my mom wanted it, so I called to complain and they came right back soon after with a free replacement to make her happy. They also have coupons on (some of) their boxes...if I ever collect ten of them I can get a free pizza. On the other hand, I feel a bit like I'm cheating on the place my family always orders from, which they prefer but I do not particularly enjoy. Also, I feel disappointed in myself AND the business, because I still stick with Lovecchio's through their seeming disdain and spitefulness - some nights I have called for delivery and I can hear the person pick up the phone and hang it up again. I'm not sure if they don't want business, if they're too busy, if the phone slipped...but I called back and it happened again. And then I called back to no answer. And then I called back a while later and they answered like nothing had ever happened. Also, another time I called and they were out of ingredients for one style of pizza (sausage - how do you run out of sausage?!). And finally, I drove by the location on my way home around 9pm one night they were supposed to still be open and they were shut; not sure if they closed early or were never open that day...
