My initial experience with Malo's occurred one afternoon when I simply wanted chicken fingers...good chicken fingers. So the search and research started. I wanted somewhere close and I wanted the best. First of all, this is not something I ever order; one of those cravings that hit me, and simply nothing else would suffice. It had to be chicken fingers and fries. I couldn't even tell you the last time I had even had chicken fingers and fries. After looking online at tons of suggestions and reviews for places in Delco, I settled on Malo's and I couldn't be happier I did. Since then, we have returned for pizza to give that a shot too, and again...not only pleasantly surprised, but downright blown away. The people running the place and cooking are great. Pleasant on the phone when ordering, extremely helpful and patient, as well as nice and welcoming when you arrive to pick up your food. It appears this has been a family-owned institution in Collingdale for many years now, and for good reason. The place is what would expect from a classic corner store pizza shop with short order Italian favorites, and I wouldn't say stop in to eat there unless you have to, this is more of a order and take home kind of place. What breaks the mold, is the wonderful food; that's what's it's all about anyway though! The pizza "chicken rostina" had a plethora of delicious ingredients and was cooked well, served perfectly hot, and was still steaming when we arrived home. However, the true jewel in the crown of this place is the chicken fingers. I cannot explain in words, regardless of how hard I try, how great these chicken fingers actually are. "Godlike" would be a fitting descriptor, but it's more of something that one simply needs to experience. Optimally thin and perfectly sized cutlets, seasoned with love, and just ever so lightly breaded that a paper thin crust encapsulates the juicy chicken inside. Laid over a bed of your choice of French fry type, for a very reasonable price considering how good they are, served so hot, that when I got them home my first time, it was still like they had just been pulled from the fryer. Best part, they are not sad and rubbery, or soggy and greasy, just crispy and juicy, golden filets of wonder that even after you have five, regardless of how full you are, entice you to want more. There are many delicious reasons to give Malo's a shot, but number one on that list is the chicken finger platter. You simply cannot strike out with that. If you live in lower Delco, this place should be a regular order or delivery spot for you, and if it isn't, you're probably doing food wrong. If you haven't been here yet, I highly recommend you get there and put them to the test, and blame me if you don't agree. Though, I think it will be very hard for you to try and prove me wrong...unless of course you just don't like living a life full of flavor. read more

I hit up Malo's for a to-go order and was happy with the pizza and my visit. Parking is on street and can be a little tough. You'll probably find spots on the side streets rather than right on MacDade Blvd. The staff inside looked to be all family and were very nice. The front area was a bit cluttered, but the kitchen and prep area appeared clean. I ordered one plain cheese pizza and one pepperoni pizza and they were done in about 15 mins. There are a few chairs to wait for your order inside. The bill was around $30 for the two pizzas. Now for the important part, both pizzas smelled great and had a nice round Neapolitan/NY Style appearance. The cheese was fresh and of good quality, there wasn't much if any grease on the plain and the Pepperoni wasn't overly greasy. The crust was soft, but had some crispy bite to it. Sauce was tangy and sweet. Each plain slice stood straight as an arrow, not much flop going on with the Pepperoni either. The co-workers I brought the pizza to enjoyed it and said it was good solid pizza. I agree. I think Malo's is a good safe pick for pizza if your in the area. Thanks guys! read more

Its a shame i have to give this place a bad rating because the customer service seemed very well, but i wish i could give them zero stars instead off 1 star. This was by the one of the worse pizza shops I've ever ate at, Overpriced and bad quality food!!. They gave me old burnt greasy Fries and they tried to hide them by covering them up with cheese and ketchup. The Pizza looked good but it was nasty!! The cheese was very low quality and it tastes fake! It had almost like a American cheese texture with no flavor, no cheese pull at all. Had to pick up lunch for my team yesterday and i found this pizza place with great reviews so decided to give them a try Ordered two large pizzas, one pepperoni and one plain. The pizza had a good flavor and plenty of cheese and pepperoni. Also ordered 2 garden salads. Again good amount for the price. The only reason they lost a star is i had to pay for the paper plates i asked for. Ive never had to do that before at other places.. Food is great, and while it wasn't expensive to buy their plates i will make sure to have our own supplies. Pizza is worth it though. read more

Excellent pasta! We were craving some homemade spaghetti and meatballs on a Sunday evening, and didn't have the time or energy to make it. We decided to let Yelp find us some nearby. After reading the reviews, I trusted that the food here seemed good, but no one had written about the pasta dishes. We gave it a try and were not disappointed. The sauce was delicious and the meatballs tasted like homemade from fresh ground beef. Everything was nicely seasoned, and you get a yummy piece of garlic bread and a side salad for under $10! The portions were enough that the two of us could have shared, but we look forward to the leftovers for lunch tomorrow. I can't wait to try their other dishes and the pizza!!! Unfortunately I cannot review their food because I never got my order. I ordered through their website, not a third party delivery service, directly through them. After putting the order through, I called to confirm and they told me they did not have my order. I checked my account and I was charged for the order, over $85. When I told the owner this, he proceeded to tell me that means the charge didn't go through and was no further assistance. I normally dont trust the ratings until a certain amount of people have left reviews, so when i saw only 18 were interested in this place i was skeptical. I started reading and noticed all 18 people were talking about the chicken tenders so that's what i ordered. They were fresh, seasoned, perfectly crispy and homemade. I ordered an inside out pizza deep fried. There was a hole in the end of it and the entire seem where they folded the pizza wasn't sealed. When it got delivered there was nothing inside, just an empty picket if dough. I called to complain n ask them to pick it up and they said it was made w a pound of cheese, no apology just "thats how we make it" sorry but the same thing w actually toppings inside is only $4 at most other store and they charge almost $8. Had a Hawaiian sandwich from here today, wow! Grilled chicken, ham, pineapple and LTO, flawless! The roll came toasted, but did not get messy and flake everywhere. Plenty of pineapple for flavor, juicy chicken and loads of ham. The meal came with steak fries as well, so cool that people still serve the best fries. Down this way on business and wanted to find good local pizza. Read the reviews and decided to give this one a shot. Very glad I did. Ordered a small 10 inch plain for the road. 10 minutes later I was walking out the door with a very fresh pizza. It looks good smells good and tasted outstanding. Crispy on the bottom just the right amount of chewy and airiness in the crust. I'm surprised there aren't more reviews on here and I have to type in the name to search on yelp, they should be at the top of the list. I usually order the steak calzone or steak strombolli with ricotta added the pizza is also excellent, besides the food being top shelf the owner is always there working and always remembers me which doesn't happen enough any more. The only time I've seen them closed was for the death of their father and they had to travel otherwise 7 days a week they are there. They also have an app that is well thought out and I always use it to order, even special orders are made easy and always correct. I definitely recommend this establishment for your next craving as a matter of fact I'm going to place an order right now because I've made myself hungry thinking about it. I feel like this area is lacking in Pizza/hoagie places that also sells delicious pasta & this place fits the bill. The owners are really nice and they make the pasta fresh. Oh and the garlic bread is AMAZING. There are tables inside and some street parking surrounding the place. Oh and they also deliver. If you like shrimp and pasta, you'll be in heaven. I love that you can pick your own pasta too. I've sampled every shrimp pasta dish except the scampi, not a big garlic fan. Each one came with six true jumbo shrimp perfectly cooked. Pasta is also cooked well - not overcooked. Sauces are great, very fresh tasting. Tried the wings tonight for first time - the mild sauce is truly mild, which is exactly what I wanted. Could only eat 4 of the 10 wings and half of the Shrimp Concodara. Future lunches! We live near this place and when ordering pizza, this is the place the kids want to order from. I am not a fan of pizza and typically order a salad or chicken fingers. The price is good and the delivery is quick. On dish that makes them unique is the Luigi Chicken (wrap, sandwich or on a salad). The flavor is good and the portions large. Before you judge my review...please read the whole thing. First of all their food is fantastic. Delicious. I'm currently debating about ordering right now. Here's why only two stars. Customer service. Friendly on the phone. But both times I ordered I specifically said NO OREGANO. I always do. Not on my hoagie. It ruins it for me. Both times there was oregano on my hoagie and no where was I written on the ticket, even though the second time I told the girl I received I incorrectly the last time I ordered. I worked in the food industry for years 2 of which was in a pizzeria. She should have made sure it was on the ticket. Also delivery time was over an hour on a Saturday morning which made me miss my lunch window. Friday night order took 40 minutes. So I'm torn folks. I got the old Italian hoagie both times. Great sandwich...prosciutto on anything makes it better. The Italian wedding soup is the best I've had maybe ever. I may give in an order again. read more

My family and I have supported this restaurant for 9 plus years and we were recently told they will no longer deliver to our home, because his driver says "we dont tip", but yet they charge a delivery fee and the driver/owner never ask or informed us.... which is no problem. However,I tried to have a postive dialogue and the owner sided with his driver. He never offered to accommodate us for our loyalty and how we speak nothing but postively to others about his food . At the very least he could have said" please tip my driver the next time"... he flat out said no! Not a good business move when you have such loyal customers that you know about just based on their address alone... further more since when is a gratuity mandatory!
