First time at W.S.S. Saturday afternoon there was no wait. Two friendly waitresses greeted me. First I was going to do take out but since it was not crowded. I decided to sit and take my time to enjoy it fresh and hot. The smoke turkey was best part of the meal. Favorable and good portions. The grill chicken was juicy and good. The Mac and cheese was the best of the sides. The yams my least favorite. The baked beans was so so as was the collard greens. The Wilson secret sauce was really good best mgreat job on the sauce

    Smoked Brisket Platter

Everything went well. The service was friendly and attentive. The whole restaurant is neat, clean, and well designed. We ordered brisket platters and the food was excellent. We are going to put this place on our list of favorite eating establishments. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

I was really excited to try this place after seeing it on TV, but unfortunately, my experience didn't live up to the hype. I placed a phone order and the older woman who answered seemed overwhelmed. She said my order would be ready in 10 minutes -- I told her I wouldn't arrive for 30, and she said "OK" and hung up. Later, I called back to add smoked turkey, and a different woman told me my order had been canceled because I wasn't coming right away. When I asked why no one told me, she claimed I had hung up before they could -- which wasn't true. Despite the confusion, I still placed an order for: * Brisket sandwich * Smoked turkey * Mac and cheese * Potato salad When I arrived, Alanna at the counter was very sweet and polite. She let me know it wasn't ready yet and asked me to wait a few minutes, which was totally fine. Once I got home, the presentation was on point -- everything looked great. But unfortunately, the food didn't deliver: * The **brisket sandwich** had jalapeños (was only told it had peppers -- I'm not a fan of jalapeños), and it came on a plain bun with no sauce on it (though they did include BBQ on the side). * The **mac and cheese** was warm but lacked any real flavor. * The **smoked turkey** was well-seasoned but very dry. * The **potato salad** was bland. I spent $63.80 and really wanted to love it, but the food just wasn't worth it for me. Between the phone order confusion and the underwhelming flavor, I won't be returning.

The food was really tasty. I enjoyed the Brunswick stew the best. It was even better than when I had in low country Ga where it originated. Our cashier was nice enough since we ordered to go and it was our first time. The restaurant was really cute as well with the Pig decor we didn't realize it was a sit down restaurant. I plan to eat in one day. The deserts were good as well a little pricy but tasty.

Brisket, corn bread, collards and baked beans

Best baked beans I have ever had. The collar greens were spicy which I loved. A Havertown favorite spot for sure. Service was great. Interior looks amazing.

Wilson's is only getting 3* from me. I wish I could give more but I simply cannot. Let's start with the good... - The service was great. I don't know the name of the individual working the counter and also running orders of food, but she deserves a raise and a medal. Crushed it. - The sides were really good. I loved the mac & cheese. Quite peppery. The baked beans also had a little heat, which I appreciated. The not so good... - Kind of expensive for what you get, IMO. - The cornbread, despite asking for 'regular' instead of 'sweet' was still too sweet. I like cornbread with absolutely no sugar whatsoever, but this was not that. - I'm not one to complain about comfort and ambiance usually, but man that AC was cranking and blowing right on me. The air was so strong that the curtains were moving and it blew my napkin off the table a couple of times. The really not so good... - The pulled pork was dry and bland. I posted a couple of pictures. I don't see any smoke ring or moisture on this pork. It was kinda bad. I had to drown it in the BBQ sauce (which I really liked, btw) to make it tolerable. If I come back, I will not be getting the pulled pork. I'll check out the brisket next time.

Having visited the South each year for a few years now, I have found some very good traditional BBQ places, so that's my bar for comparison. These guys are pretty strong but 3.5 stars compared to my southern eats spots (round to 4). The prices are high. The portions are okay. The taste is good. I felt a need for salt on a lot. I didn't need sauce, though, because meat flavors were good enough to stand alone. It was decent and worthy for good local BBQ.

The bartenders were well versed in soccer, and many of the patrons were tuned into the game too, but some just came for drinks and food. They have a nice selection of beers handy and the menu had a surprising number of good options. I finally went with the burger and am so glad I did! It was absolutely gorgeous and cooked a perfect medium. My first bite and I knew it was a fresh patty. I asked if they made them in house but they actually get them from Wells, a Philly staple for good meats. Came with an ample portion of shoestring fries which were hot and crisp. Can't wait to head back and try some more of the menu options. If I can tear myself away from the burger anyway...

There are a number of these hot chicken places in the area now, they are coming up like Starbucks and Wawas, about time we got one the main line. My friend loved the medium and won't go higher. Like the other hot chicken places it appears they dry season, which is nice because the sandwich stays crispy on the outside while the interior was juicy and delicious. The cole slaw was crunchy and a nice addition to the sandwich. Fries were hot and tasty, the entire meal travelled well, but it didn't have far to go. They have smoothies on the menu, will try one in the future. And banana pudding for dessert which is a staple at the hot chicken places. Nice addition to the lineup in Ardmore, I hope they will consider staying open later on weekends as an option after a concert at the Music hall.

Our waitress was thoughtful and welcoming, and they even started us off with a free appetizer of banana bread, grapes, and chocolate-filled rolls. What really stood out was how we were treated. The lady with black hair (possibly the owner, if not, she deserves a raise!) was genuinely kind. She took pictures for us, chatted and joked with us, and was consistently attentive. It felt like more than just service--it was hospitality at its finest. Food: (9/10) The food was amazing. The smoked salmon was perfectly cooked inside the eggs and seasoned beautifully nothing bland on the plate. I tried capers for the first time, and the way they worked with the omelet made me a fan for life. The combination of eggs, salmon, and capers was spot on. Major compliments to the chef! Ambiance: (10/10) The restaurant was clean, including the bathroom, which says a lot. In the morning, it had a nice energy customers were eating and chatting, music was playing softly in the background, and the art added to the cozy aesthetic. The space was lively without being overwhelming. Overall: A This place easily made it into my top 5 breakfast restaurants. I'm not usually big on breakfast, but I loved everything about it here. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying everything on the menu.

It was huge and my one kid discovered a love of cheese along with it. My spouse got the Cuban, which is a little dry, but pretty in line with Cuban expectations. I thoroughly enjoyed the pickle burger with double patties, enough meat that I also shared bit of it with the kids. My kid dipped the patty in the pretzel cheese. My spouse had read that it took a while for food to come out, but it came out pretty speedy for us. We also ordered the crab dip, but it came out at the same time as our main course so we didn't eat much. Taking that sucker home. Besides the pretzel, the variety of spaces here are the main highlight. Again, disclaimer being this is coming from someone who didn't come to a brewery to drink beer.
