I come here at least once a month, usually for takeout, but this time I decided to dine in. I always order the pork belly burnt ends, brisket, and ribs. The brisket is my favorite; it's always tender with just the right amount of fat. This time I ordered Brisket Fries and they were really good. Loaded with brisket and cheese. The staff is always super friendly. I did have one issue with the food once, not the service, and Ian, who I believe is the manager, immediately made it right. He was very kind and professional. I definitely recommend this restaurant to others.

From start to finish this place is great. We came back a month later and brought new people it was that great! The servers are friendly and fast. Cute small place, reservations highly recommended. They have outside seating. We got the smoked wings again. Friggin delicious. Proper real chicken wing size, good flavor and properly crisp. The Mac and cheese is actually not too bad! I love the green. They got a spice bite that you better not forget about. The beans I like too! Remind me of cowboy beans with the meat. I loved them! Coleslaw is more vinegar based if that's your flavor. The sweet potatoes are delish! The fancy thanksgiving at your boujee aunts house style. Mmmhmm. Sweet potato hush puppies are cake like sweet. I was told asparagus was delish. The ribs are tender and perfectly sauced. Not a ton of fat. Brisket too! Not a lot of fat. They slice you right. I would not recommend their distilled liquors. It's not a heavy pour. So if you enjoy measured pour liquor, have at it. If not, the cost is not worth the 'juice'. As I said, we came back here within a month. Def our spot!

Sat at the bar and had quite a nice dinner. Planned to only stay for drinks and apps but the friendliness of the bartenders kept us for dinner. The fried chicken sandwich was delicious and the fries were superb. I also had an orange juice bourbon drink which was delicious. Also a cloudy hazy ipa also very good. We will be back soon

    Sophie's BBQ -- Smokehouse Trinity

Eh, hard to feel the high reviews based on my $90 takeout. I just returned from southern GA where the BBQ is excellent. Sophie's just doesn't do what they can do down there. Our family had the Smokehouse Trinity and The BBQ Platter, which together let us try brisket, chicken, pulled pork, ribs, mac n cheese, fries and cornbread. The philosophy seems to be more about pumping sugar into/onto everything than getting flavor in the meat. "Cornbread" is more of a corn poundcake with cinnamon bun drizzle. Yes, making cake and calling it bread feels like a decadent bread, but it's a marketed hybrid cake enabling you to get fat. Mac n cheese is very tasty. That said, it is made simple, from inexpensive noodles, cheese and butter. A lone side of it is $10 and if the lone side is the same as a regular side, it is very overpriced for the portion. My 7yo ate it by himself as a fraction of his dinner. Handcut fries were also tasty, but cut too thin for my liking because most were extremely crispy. I could have eaten a bag of potato chips for a close enough taste, and for far less money. I've said this in other BBQ reviews and I'll say it again, it's a faux pas to me to serve BBQ sauced. If your meat can stand alone, it's good BBQ. I don't like to add sauce (sugar) to my meat. Please don't assume I want 1000 calories dumped on my protein, and if you need sauce for flavor, the meat isn't good enough. Chicken was the best of the meats, IMO. I pulled the skin (and sauce) off and the meat was juicy and had the most amount of smoke that anything had. I will say it was not "smoky" compared to southern BBQ, but it had some smoke while the other meats didn't really have any. Ribs had an unpleasant chewy-hamy texture and tasted okay but again I was forced to eat sauce, and that didn't let me really taste the meat. The below meats actually did not come sauced: Pulled pork was okay. Not smoky, not bad per se, but not memorable either. Brisket bark had too much flavor and the meat had too little, so you needed the sauce to cover up the distracting contrast. Not worth the price for that. The taste of the sauce? Tasted like Diabetes. In comparison to parts of the country who perfect BBQ, Sophie's didn't hold their own. They did a lot that was tasty but the prices were steep compared to BBQ joints I frequent where they do it better, give you more, and charge less.

My husband and I come here frequently for many reasons! The smoked chicken wings are a must! So crispy and flavorful! The classic meat platters are crazy good, but the icing on the cake is the fun plays on things like a Philly cheese steak made with brisket!

I did a pickup order. Food was hot and packed nicely. The portions were pretty good. All the meat was well cooked but My favorite meat is the pork belly burnt ends 10/10. I was a little disappointed in the cornbread. It was dry even after I microwaved it for 30 seconds. Baked beans were a too sweet for me. I will be back for the burnt ends and hope to have a 2nd chance with the corn bread

One of my favorite BBQ spots! The service for takeout is simple, and everyone is so friendly. I've had the brisket, ribs, Cole slaw and greens. It's rare you find BBQ spots where the sides actually taste good! The greens had a nice sweet, smoky flavor which made them wonderful. My only complaint, the cornbread was extremely dry. Overall, if you like good tasting BBQ, give Sophie's a shot!

Great food with great portions. Staff was super attentive and polite. I got the rib sandwich which came with onions and pickles, according to the description while my friends got the brisket cheesesteak and the bbq brisket sandwich. I got to try different sandwiches and they were all good. Hate to say it, but I think the rib sandwich I got was my least favorite. The reason being is I'm not a fan of mayo, and the onion was drenched in it. I wished they included mayo in the description. Fries were so good too.

5 stars every time. My wife and I order 10 wings and half order of brisket once or twice per week. I may go as far as saying the smoked crispy wings with sweet BBQ sauce are the best wings I have ever had . The flavor, tenderness, crispiness, sauce, ..all complement each other so well. The brisket is cooked to perfection each time. Perfect amount of fat and the coffee rub is delicious . Typically we do takeout but have dined in a few times. Cute atmosphere with great service and tasty cocktails crafted with liquor from Four Birds Distillery. Will be back in the summer to sit outside on the patio. Definitely go check out Sophie's! They have a LOT more to offer...these are just my favorites and I'll never stop eating them!!!

You need to come to this place! Been multiple times and the food is always so amazing. Service is always so kind and the indoor and outdoor options are great!

We had an amazing time coming here at an off peak time so we had excellent service and were able to customize the brussel sprouts a bit to meet our needs as we didn't want the spice. The burnt ends were probably the favorite over the spare ribs due to its nice glaze blended with the saltiness of the meat. The spare ribs had a nice seasoning and were cooked, to some it could be more fall off the bone. Would like to visit again.

Pulled Pork Sandwich, with a side of fries and Collard Geeens. Delicious!

Everything about Sophie's B.B.Q. is fantastic. Pound for pound, it isn't the cheapest but by far, one of the best B.B.Q. joints in DELCO. From the service, to the portion sizes and preparation of the product, this place is tops. If you're in Havertown or you live here, make it a point to stop in. You won't be disappointed.

In reality, Hog Face BBQ ran out of food, came with broken equipment, and offered no refund for the trouble they caused. I ended up ordering pizza to feed my wedding guests! Please consider your options carefully if you are planning on using this company, they are not the professionals they would have you believe that they are. Instead of offering any action to help rectify the situation, Hog Face BBQ accused my guests of eating too much, and continually told me that in theory the food they brought should have fed the amount of guests in attendance. I have given the business owner, Matt Wilson, over a month to make this situation right, and he has made no attempt to do so.

Not only did this sham of a company only bring half of what they promised, but what they did provide was cold, sickening and not even close to being enough for the 200 guest which they knew were invited. In some ways it was probably a good thing there wasn't enough food, since a number of people ended up with food poisoning. Mr. Wilson had said that he would be there to see that everything would be wonderful for the new couple. Not only did he not show up until it was time for him to collect the balance due, but he sent three young people who didn't seem to know what the hell they were doing. In fact, they got into an argument among themselves and one of them left. No matter what the excuses were for this disgraceful service, at the very least Mr. Wilson should have been more then willing to refund a good portion of their money and admit that his company screwed up royally. But that never happened. It's too bad that the customer took him at his word and never asked for a written contract, or they would certainly been in small claims court. This was a good lesson for the young couple to learn that there are a lot of people out there that can not be trusted. If anyone out there is anticipating using Hog Face BBQ, please, please rethink your decision.
