I have driven by this Cocco's location numerous times over the years, so in the past couple of…read moremonths I finally stopped in twice for lunch. There are several parking spots on their lot and I didn't have a problem parking either time. On the first visit I tried their Old Fashioned Hoagie - Sharp provolone, prosciutto, capicola, pepper ham, salami with hot peppers. With those kind of ingredients I was expecting a great experience, but sadly the sandwich was underwhelming. There was an off taste with the meats and the sharp provolone was very weak. The roll was decent. The lady who took my order gave me the "everything's good here" line so I went with what looked good on the menu. On my second visit I had a much better experience. The guy who took my order recommended their burger and gave me a little history of Cocco's, as there are several in this area of DELCO. There are a couple locations that are run by the original owner and this location was the first, opening in 1978. The location in Primos PA, not too far away has a gelataria attached. The other locations are "franchises" that buy freshly made rolls, dough and cheese from the owner. The 8oz never frozen burger came on a fresh, daily made roll. I had him throw on cheese and hot peppers with a small order of crinkle cut fries and in 10 minutes I had my lunch. With a bottle of water I was a little over $10. The bun was fresh and delicious, the meat itself could have been seasoned a bit more, but the hot peppers helped perk it up a bit. It was big burger and the cheese he used was excellent and really helped bring the sandwich together. Overall I think the people running this location are very nice and have a good offering for a great price. Give them a try if your in the area.

The plain was average Neapolitan style pie, little on the greasy side but decent and edible. The Sicilian had a nice thickness, crispy solid crust and the sauce was a little sweet. The cheese was stringy and fresh. A decent average Sicilian. Could use a bit more flavor in the sauce, but I definitely didn't push any slices away. I would repeat a pizza order from here if closer options weren't better.

Last night, I had the pleasure of indulging in two of their signature offerings: the Motown Pizza and the Greek Detroit Style Pizza. Spoiler alert: both left a lasting impression! Motown Pizza: First up was the Motown Pizza, a delightful homage to the Detroit-style pizza that's been making waves. The thick, rectangular crust was a sight to behold, perfectly golden and crisp on the edges while remaining fluffy and airy in the center. Each bite offered a satisfying crunch that's hard to resist. Topped generously with a rich, tangy tomato sauce that has just the right amount of sweetness, the flavor profile was elevated with a blend of savory spices. The cheese--oh, the cheese! A blend created a gooey, stretchy experience that paired harmoniously with the sauce. To top it off, the pepperoni was perfectly placed, slightly crispy around the edges and bursting with flavor. Overall, the Motown Pizza is a symphony of textures and tastes that will have you singing its praises long after the last slice. Greek Detroit Style Pizza: Next, I ventured into the Greek Detroit Style Pizza, which was nothing short of a culinary revelation. This pizza took the classic Detroit style and infused it with vibrant Mediterranean flavors. The crust maintained that same delightful crunch, but the addition of olive oil gave it an extra layer of richness. The toppings were a feast for the eyes and the palate. A generous layer of feta cheese added a creamy tang, while Kalamata olives brought a briny punch that contrasted beautifully with the sweetness of the tomato sauce. Fresh red onions rounded out the toppings, providing a refreshing crunch that made each bite feel light yet satisfying. What truly stood out was the balance of flavors. The Greek spices harmonized with the traditional pizza elements, creating a unique fusion that's hard to find elsewhere. It's the kind of pizza that makes you rethink your typical toppings and inspires a desire for more adventurous pairings. Final Thoughts: Rating 5/5 Pricing for the pizzas were very inexpensive and the quality was outstanding. Icon Pizza in Springfield, PA, has truly elevated the pizza game with their Motown and Greek Detroit Style Pizzas.
