    Black Garlic Ramen
    Sachin M.

I wanted to explore other ramen options around Gardena and saw that Love Ramen looked interesting. Its a new place thats nestled in a corner of a shopping center. The inside is bright and simple. They had a few tonkotsu ramen options, and I decided to order the black garlic ramen. The dish looked good, but the broth was very mild and a bit watery. The black garlic oil added flavor, but it was ok. The noodles were a bit overcooked, as well as the egg. The chashu pork was juicy and salty. It was marinated in a sweet soy marinade. Overall, this place was ok.

FIVE STARS Ordered takeout and was shocked to find out how good this place is. The portion is great and the flavor is solid. Prices are competitive. Whoever is in the kitchen is a MASTER on the wok. The only minor complaint is that the egg roll was a bit greasy, maybe turning up the fryer temp might help. Dishes ordered: M8. Yaki Shrimp Ramen (Shrimp yakiisoba) M1. Hibachi fried rice A10. House salad A4. Egg Rolls Will definitely return!!

I'd been craving ramen for some time, and I just wanted to try a diff spot, something other than my fave ramen place, so I decided to give Ramen House a shot. Hm where do I start? Let's start from service. Cool and friendly Asian guy greeting, sitting, and serving people. Asked him some questions about the apps, the calamari in specific. Asked him if theirs was the chewy type of the super soft and tender one, couldn't really understand what he said so I ended up ordering it anyway along with tempura shrimp. Unlucky me it was the hella chewy type. Way too chewy, seasoning was too salty as well. They serve it with a sweet sauce I guess to contrast the saltiness. Not a fan. Tempura was quite tasty although they don't use the traditional tempura batter but rather an off the market shelf type of mix. Still good, crunchy and tasty. Served with a mayo and Sriracha sauce. Now let's talk Ramen! Was really rooting for this place since it has 4 stars and a half on Yelp and 5 in Google reviews so I thought to myself ramen must be great right.? Well I'm really sorry to say this so bluntly but their ramen is not good at all. I've tried a lot of different ramen from different places in different cities, and I even know how the broth is made. Sorry but ramen from this place is the worst I've ever had. Yes I finished the whole thing cuz I was starving and had been craving ramen for a while but it really wasn't good. Broth didn't taste like traditional ramen broth, noodles tasted, I don't know, funny?! I don't like sending things back unless they're really inedible or something wrong with them. Think that's why I take it to yelp instead. Really sorry yall, but Yours ramen just wasn't it.

I love that there are so many good ramen places in Gardena and was thrilled to discover Love Ramen House! First off, the ramen is delicious! I had the thin noodle tonkatsu and OMG! the flavor aside from the umami of the pork broth there's something else here that I couldn't place, maybe some 5 spice? whatever it is the broth, the chasu, the fried garlic, and the marinated egg with a jammy yolk just made this ramen so damn fantastic. My friend ordered the karaage bento box and he was raving about the perfect fry that the chicken had while the meat remained tender and juicy. We shared a few appetizers: the seaweed salad, fried egg rolls, and the mixed tempura. We were not disappointed by anything. I gotta add, that the onion tempura at Love Ramen is my favorite. I don't like how onion rings/tempura leave the onion with that sautéed consistency but here, it was crispy. There's just a little bit of everything at Love Ramen: appetizers, ramen, bentos, udon, a few dessert options. Love Ramen is in the same location where Togos used to be years ago. They kept the casual atmosphere by leaving the space open. If you're going to order 'to go' you do so at the counter, otherwise when you walk in you'll be sat at an open table. I need to get better at asking for names because the server was just great. So friendly, so attentive, so welcoming. Unlike other ramen places in the area Love Ramen didn't attempt to recreate the traditional ramen house feel with dark wood accents, this place is super casual and I love that. This place is a must and I can't wait to come back once things get nice and cold, nice and gloomy but no matter the weather I'll definitely be back and you should go to Love Ramen too!

    Inside- harsh lights

The food here was delicious- I ordered the seaweed salad and spicy miso ramen. The flavors were great and the portions were pretty big. The pork in the ramen had a BBQ flavor which was somewhat unexpected, but I liked it. The service was prompt, friendly, and minimal. I would take away one star for the atmosphere. They have harsh fluorescent lighting and blaring pop music, and it all feels like a sensory assault. Next time I'd get my food to go because it wasn't comfortable to sit and eat there with all the bright lights and noise. It does seem like they're going for more of a fast food vibe, but I think they'd get more tips if they switched to gentle lighting and softer music, making it a more relaxed dining experience. Also, I got matcha tiramisu which had a good flavor, but it was still partially frozen when I ate it at home. Overall, I liked the food and would go here again- they just need some fine tuning to make it a great experience rather than just "good".

Food was delicious! Welcomed with a smile. The restaurant was clean and they have restrooms. Found my new favorite spot!

    What we ordered

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING So obsessed with the delicious food!! The broth was absolutely rich and tasted so clean and crisp, the chicken was such high quality! Absolutely LOVED the pickled(in soy sauce?) hard boiled eggs! They tasted so sweet and I was pleasantly surprised as I'm not one to try new things(first time having them!) I took my bfs(he's not big on eggs) that's why my bowl has 3 I don't eat seafood, but my bf said the Eel melted in his mouth and the calamari coating/batter wasn't just plain, it was flavorful and well seasoned. I did have some of the cabbage the calamari was on and it was so sweet and crisp! I also tried the macaroni salad which was also delicious! I was pleasantly surprised to find it had soy beans and I'm super huge on food texture so it added a very nice crunch to the macaroni salad that rounded it out perfectly! The staff was so kind and checked in on us twice after giving us our food, once a little after bringing us our order to make sure everything was satisfactory and another time later when we were nearing the end of our meal to make sure we didn't want more drinks which was a perfect opportunity to ask for a box and the check. They were so lovely! I had accidentally skipped the ramen pg on the menu and only saw it after placing my order so after some debate I mustered up the courage to ask if it was too late to change my order because I really wanted to try the chicken ramen and IM SO SO SO GRATEFUL they were happy to accommodate me otherwise I wouldn't have had this amazingly delicious meal! I can't wait to try more! ‍

The pork is so soft it almost melts in your mouth. The broth everything was delicious. Also the service was great no complains here..So glad we decided to give this place a chance. We will definitely come back and recommend to all fam and friends.

Food is great. Ambience is good, Service is superb!!! Definitely worth the visit!!! Will comeback again..

    BUG IN FOOD!!

Got a spicy chicken ramen and find a f-ing bug in my ramen my goodness. I already didn't rly appreciate the cashier/waitress attitude (Asian girl with blonde/brown hair) but I didn't even make that a deal. But a BUG? I tell her and no real sense of urgency just oh is that a fly? You don't have to pay for just this, the ramen. But I must pay for the other foods? Hell no. Then she says we don't have to pay for the bill anymore. she says she will let her manager know, and takes the food. And she never comes back with a manager/nobody comes out to apologize or talk to us. Just says nothing. I don't recommend eating here, I feel disgusted !!!!

Spicy tonkotsu ramen and deep fried wonton for appetizer

The food is very delicious. I had the spicy tonkotsu, perfect spice kick to the broth delicious for this rainy/cold weather. The waitress was very helpful with recommendations and explaining the food since it was my first time trying. Casual location for lunch during work, nice and chill vibe for dinner.

With that disclaimer out of the way, here's my humble opinion of the ramen at Shin-Sen-Gumi Hakata Ramen. It's okay. When I came here yesterday afternoon, I ordered the Hakata Ramen which is basically a tonkotsu style ramen. Every aspect of it is customizable including the broth, noodles, and toppings. I just went with the default options, which i believe they recommend for first timers. On the side, I got a flavored egg, and pork belly. The broth was solid. It was flavorful, and fatty. The noodles were the right firmness as well. However, the chashu pork and pork belly were pretty mediocre. I know this sounds harsh but hear me out. Even after bathing them in the broth, they were dry and not tender. I didn't enjoy the flavored egg either. It was overly boiled and barely marinated. Despite the shortcomings noted above, I'm still giving this place four stars because the service is fantastic. The staff is very nice and provide incredibly fast service. My drink came out in like one minute. The refill came out even faster. They also offer free refills of the noodles.

This place is located in a strip mall so there's plenty of parking. I ordered the extra chashu yatai ramen, which is a shoyu base ramen usually with chicken or fish broth. The chicken flavor was very prominent and the tare was very aromatic. The pieces of chashu was thinly sliced, and I wish there was more slices since it was extra chashu. The wavy thin noodles paired really well with the broth and it reminded me of the bowl I had in Japan. I was extra hungry so I also ordered a fried chicken combo with fried rice and salad. Chicken karaage was seasoned and fried perfectly. The sauce on the salad paired really well with the cabbage. Fried rice was a little soggy but wasn't expecting much. Service was pretty quick and efficient. The staff were all Japanese which added additional authenticity to this ramen shop. Everyone was very friendly.
