I've been going to Tomizo since they opened. There were a few months after the initial visit that I didn't go and I'll explain in a sec, but since then I come probably twice a month now. Ironically speaking, I do not like Sapporo style ramen. I've never been a fan of Miso ramen, and for some reason Sapporo style is just something I do not enjoy. That being said, everyone I know that does like Sapporo style ramen say it is good. But then, why am I giving this place 5 stars and why do I eat here so often? Tomizo added tsukemen to their menu, and they have the best tsukemen in the area. It's a very rich heavy fatty tsukemen, and it blows away everywhere else's tsukemen in the area. The portions are always extremely generous as well. The most important thing is, they use actual tsukemen noodles, they are fat and thick, while a lot of places near here give you ramen noodles for their tsukemen. The other thing I absolutely love about this place is that they have seasonal ramen, and while I'm not a huge fan of some of them, other times they are just amazing. The current seasonal ramen is a cold cream tonkotsu style, and it is absolutely divine. My partner got it last night and it was so good, I wanted to come back tonight to get an order of it myself. I absolutely hope they decide to add it to their main menu permanently, because a cold ramen dish would be a god send to have readily available. The staff are all wonderful, incredibly attentive, and are all very cheerful and upbeat. The music variation changes quite a bit. Sometimes it'll be vocaloid heavy, other times it'll be very late 90s sounds of Tokyo (Fantastic Plastic Machine, Pizzicato Five), or sometimes an early 2000s jpop play list. As someone a little older I don't think there's ever been a time I didn't enjoy the music being played. They also always have dodgers games (reruns during the offseason) playing on a tv for the local fans. The only real bad thing about Tomizo is the parking lot is tiny and shared with a sushi place that can get busy. So parking can be difficult sometimes. read more

The last time I came was sometime last year. I used to love the food here. Things to note that have changed. The spice levels are now serious lol, they pour less broth, and the fried rice changed. They skimped out on the meat in the fried rice and the flavor and texture has changed. Different physical menus to, not that it matters all that much. I give it a 2 now only because I am comparing this place to what it used to be... read more

Ramen taste so good. I come here late at night after my night class. Tomizo ramen is great because they open until very late and it's quiet. I get to have warm, delicious ramen and decompress myself. Staff is always welcoming as well. My recommendation is spicy miso Ramen, Karaage chicken with Yuzu mayo. read more

It's soooooo good!! The portion size and customer service is also a plus. There was a group of 3 sitting at the bar and a table was open and the waiter had them to go sit at the table to open up more spots at the bar. I appreciated that as a solo diner. read more

Tomizo Ramen was so good. The server was nice and welcoming. Tried the Taco Tuesday curry chasu tacos (2 for $5). Cheesy with a nice kick and rich flavor. Got the miso ramen with mild spice, comforting and satisfying with a perfect soft-boiled egg. Also tried the special Tomizo ramen (only 5 serves a day). Strong garlic, rich broth, and thick noodles. The gyoza was good too, especially in the tartar sauce. read more

They're open late! Thank goodness for late night joints. A long day at work equals trying to find dinner with a hope and a smile! We've ordered delivery in the past. This was our first dine-in experience. We weren't the only ones eating a late dinner! We ordered to share: Chicken nanban. They serve it with a tartar sauce of sorts. The flavor is ok but they are a bit heavy handed. Gyoza. Also ok. Also served with the tartar sauce. Also a bit heavy-handed. Next time I will request the Tatar sauce on the side. Spicy miso ramen. We enjoyed it. It was a rainy night and the broth was warm and flavorful. Enjoy! read more

We came through on a Tuesday. It was very empty only a few people throughout. I got the spicy miso ramen level 1 (was just mild) the charsiu was very tender. The karaage with the curry sauce was awesome! I would love to try to make that myself one day. The special ramen which they serve only 5 per day was very veggie heavy. Personally I wouldn't have gotten it again. But it is very filling so to each their own. The restaurant was small maybe around 25-30 people seating. The service was very good. The waitress was attentive and checked in a lot. I do think we got overcharged since before a certain time it's a free side if you order 2 ramens. But I guess it'll just take a little more time to come back read more

The ramen was okay--nothing particularly special, but still decent enough for a quick meal. The service was pretty slow, likely because they seemed short-staffed. The place is also on the smaller side, so it can feel a little cramped when it gets busy. That said, the ambiance is cool and gives the restaurant some character. Overall, it's an average ramen spot with a nice vibe, but the food and service didn't really stand out. read more

This place is small You write your name on a list and as people leave they come out check the list and call for you to come in to eat. When we showed up it was full so we waited maybe 20minutes. Service once inside was fast they don't have too big of a menu. Ramen was delicious we added corn aand an egg to the spicy one. Shrimp tempura was perfect The shu mai was interesting, had maybe some rice inside and was sweet which was new to me. I normally love a shrimp shumai. karaage was good pieces were big and not fully coated in the crumbs. Also not picture fried rice it was good. Would definitely come back for the ramen read more

Second time here with the same friend. We came a few years ago. Food was decent. Broth felt saltier than I remember. Price has increased admittedly along with the rest of the restaurants in the area. I remember this was a good value and had a flavorful profile. This time, the egg roll appetizer was mid, friend ordered the dipping noodles -- broth looked more oil than soup base. I had the signature miso ramen with extra chashu and some additional veggies. Quick turnaround on tables. Steady influx of people while we were dining there. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE this ramen spot!!! I always order the Spicy Miso Ramen and add egg! The food's freshness and great taste makes me feel like I'm dining in Japan (just wish I could get Saki to go lol). They don't open til 5pm which works bcuz after a long day of work, we like to treat ourselves instead of cooking lol. We haven't sat down to dine in. Maybe one day we will have to try. The staff is always friendly and helpful if you have questions about the menu. Enjoy!! read more

Tomizo Ramen is a great ramen spot and easily one of the better options in the area. The broth was rich, well balanced, and clearly simmered with care, not overly salty or heavy. Noodles had a good bite and held up well through the bowl, and the toppings were fresh and well portioned. Service was friendly and efficient, and the space felt comfortable and relaxed without trying too hard. Everything came out hot and quickly, which is exactly what you want with ramen. If you are craving a solid bowl done right, this place delivers. Easy five stars for quality and consistency. read more

This was my first time stopping by and luckily I got there early for dinner to try their limited Tomizo Ramen for $15! It's a garlic shoyu tonkotsu base topped with bean sprouts, cabbage, onions and LOTS of garlic which I loved! It's served with a thick flat noodle, and you can add more toppings like a ramen egg if you like. The broth was SO flavorful and it definitely hit the spot on a cold night. The combination of a shoyu and tonkotsu broth makes it umami rich and delicious. Every bite was packed with flavor and a strong taste of garlic which I loved. I wasn't the biggest fan of the noodles since it reminded more of a pasta noodle, but they were still thick and had a great texture. The other ramens on their menu either have a miso or shoyu base, so I'll check it out next time. Definitely recommend stopping by to try this ramen. read more

I have eaten here several times and enjoy their ramen. The spicy miso and miso broth, which is their signature ramen broth, are good. Their tonkatsu soup is okay. In general, their soup is on the lighter side, but still has enough bold flavors to make the overall dish tasty. read more

Food (5/5): Want ramen but don't live in Little Tokyo? Tomizo ramen is perfect for you. I have only had their Tomizo ramen which they only serve 5 bowls a day. It's super garlicky and a tad bitter from their cabbage. The soup is such a comforting and earthy flavor. The portion size is also gargantuan considering I'm a big eater. I love tsukemen and unfortunately my favorite place in Gardena closed and I'm super excited to try it! Service (5/5): Their food is quick and they are very attentive. I have only been when it hasn't been super busy. Ambiance (5/5): Great for a quick solo bite, to go with a friend, or casual date! Any party bigger than 4 will have issues fitting unless the 5th person is an infant. Price (5/5): Debit & credit card only, FYI! Reasonable prices for great ramen! read more

I'm very dissatisfied with my food . I told the server I wanted my ramen vegan and I repeated myself many times. She then hands me a chicken based ramen and I took a bite and I was in complete disbelief that I really took a bite out of something I do not eat. My stomach is upset. They did apologize but, they didn't cop me for the fact that they made a mistake. read more

Came here for a late Thursday dinner around 9pm and was a little surprised there was a 15-20 minute wait. The seating is pretty limited, so plan ahead if you're coming during peak times. As a tsukemen lover, I had to try their Dipping Ramen. It was solid, but my heart still belongs to other local ramen spots. The broth here was rich and the noodles were deliciously chewy, but it just didn't quite hit the craving for me. My boyfriend ordered the Tomizo Ramen, which is limited to 3 bowls a day. The menu notes it has "a lot of garlic," but that was an understatement. We're talkin' spoonfuls. It overwhelmed the entire dish and made it tough to enjoy. Those who are garlic-obsessed could possibly enjoy it, but it was too much for us. Have to give them bonus points for the Dodger-themed decor. It added a fun, laid-back vibe that made the space feel social and casual. read more

I usually order their noodles, but this time I decided to try their Japanese curry. The flavor was good but there was hardly any chicken in it. First time trying Tomizo and glad we got there early to get a seat because it's not a big restaurant. We ordered their shrimp shumai, chicken karaage and two ramens. The ramens had a unique flavor. I think the broth had a fisher, more seafoody bonito flavor? It was good and their Noodles were really good. Everything was pretty decent. read more

Came here late night on a Friday and it truly is a hole-in-the-wall gem! My sister and I signed up for the waitlist and waited approximately 20-30 minutes to be seated since it's very small inside with limited seating. However, once we got inside, the service was very quick. We got our ramen within 5-10 minutes and it was so delicious! I ordered the scallop miso butter ramen and wow. It was amazingly fragrant and creamy and salty in the best way possible. The corn adds a nice sweetness to balance out all the flavors. The ramen is perfectly chewy and the broth is like a warm hug on a late night. I loved that they gave me a good amount of scallops too and for the price, it was such a deal! Will definitely be returning to try their other ramens as well. read more

Came here around 7:30pm on a weekday night. Tomizo has great reviews and was nearby so decided to eat here. I ordered the Tomizo ramen, which is limited to 5 bowls a night. Two were available but my friend didn't want Tomizo ramen because they can't separate the bean sprouts. The Tomizo ramen is in-my-opinion, mostly veggies and two small meats. If you love veggies, this ramen is great. There's probably same amount of veggies as the noodles. I couldn't finish the ramen but I also should have gotten a different ramen. I enjoy vegetables but wouldn't want to eat veggie ramen. Service is great. Interior is a bit small. I also ordered chashu rice bowl which they forgot to serve me (and they didn't charge me for it). i'm glad because the noodles and veggies were filling. read more

Delicious Ramen with great service! My friend and I went in and both got the Spicy Miso Ramen. I got a level 4 spicy. It wasn't that spicy, but my tolerance is really high. I will get level 5 next time. We got appetizers, definitely recommend the shrimp shumai! Very good! The restaurant is very small. We were the first ones there when it opened, so we got sat right away. However, by the time we left, there were 5 people waiting outside. The restaurant looks like it seats about 20-25 people. Realistically, 7 parties of 2-3 people from the way the tables are set up, and 10 of those seats are at the bar. Cute date spot, or a friend hangout for small groups. I don't think it would be as convenient if it was a big group unless you are the first ones there to sit a party if 10. They did get a lot of people coming in for take out! I think takeout would be a great plan if waiting is not an option. Our server was very friendly! read more

Really love this spot and their ramen! Also appreciate that on Fridays and Saturdays they are open decently late which is perfect if you get out of a late concert or fly in kind of late and are looking for a dinner spot. I came here with my mom and husband after our concert at the Kia forum on a Saturday night and this place really hit the spot. We jumped on their waitlist and were seated not too long afterwards. This is one of the later night options in the South Bay to eat at that stays open. The food was good, but I sort of feel with the pricing the portions could be a bit larger (more noodles) to make this an alluring destination dining restaurant option to crave on both impulse or planning. Noodles are relatively inexpensive, so I don't think it's an unreasonable business plan to attract more customers (unless the goal is to get bigger orders of more food, as the Chicken Karaage is good!). It's tasty and good, but I think if you just order a bowl of ramen and it's a main meal (lunch or dinner) you might want something else to add to your order to get satisfied or full. read more

Good quality ramen that stays open late is definitely a good option for those that have late night munchies. My wife and I stopped by after watching a movie and we opted for the #3 Spicy Miso and the #4 miso butter corn scallop ramen. Both dishes had bold rich broth, but the miso butter broth was richer of the two. Both dishes came with perfectly cooked al dente noodles that perfectly picked up the broth with each bite. The #4 is definitely the better of the two choices because with just a few extra dollars your getting a bunch of extra ingredients and overall is a better ramen dish with richer and bolder flavors. The extra scallops raises the ramen in to a whole new level of excess. I will definitely be back to try the mazemen and tsukemen. FYI NO CASH!! Credit Card ONLY... read more

Not a good experience. Parking lot is chaotic. Management is atrocious. Felt so bad for the lone server who had to do everything from hosting, clean and bus tables, take orders, answer phones, organize to-go orders, pour drinks, and serve the food. And did all this with two managers constantly peak out the kitchen to supervise, but not help. What could have been an hour dining experience was easily two and a half hours because of poor management. I Hope that kid reads this so he can know that it's not his fault. Just terrible management and there are far better jobs that he'll be well equipped for. And the food sucked. read more

I've been on a ramen binge and spent the past year looking for the best ramen spots and though I still have not managed to find the tip top of the ramen game, I highly recommend Tomizo Ramen. Friend & I were craving ramen, went to one, sat and ordered then my friend pointed out their B rating. We don't mess around with that stuff so we skedaddled and prayed there was another ramen spot nearby... We searched and thankfully found another ramen spot right around the corner and that's how we landed at Tomizo Ramen! First off, for a Saturday night, it was pretty dead and I blame the location. Although it's just around the corner from a mini outdoor food court, the parking here was super scarce, 5 spaces max - although street parking is available but who wants to parallel park on a busy street on a Saturday night? Anyway... Went inside - zero wait - and the interior is super cute and cozy, but also very small so I would not recommend large groups, however, it is perfect for a date night / intimate hangout. Ordered some - in my opinion, very cheap - ramen. $12 I believe, I have not seen anything under $15-20 range and the portion was about the same as any other spot. The ramen was pretty simple, we did not add any additional toppings so there wasn't a mess in our bowls but simplicity is best. The broth was delicious. Ramen was so good my "let's catch up on our day" hangout was spent in complete silence apart from the noodles slurping. Wish I lived a little closer as I'd be a regular here. For the price and quality - quality was among the top of ramen I've tried, it was awesome - I'd say it's completely worth trying and revisiting! Looking forward to the next time and hope to bring along more friends, thank you for having us! read more

The food itself is pretty good, but the amount of pork served in the spicy miso ramen is so little I can barely tasted it. Luckily, I ordered a side of chasu bowl as a compensation for the ramen. Yeah, considered the price, it's simply not worth the money I paid for. I didn't expect anything particular from the service and what I got is very much ok. So that's that. The atmosphere is fine. The restaurant is relatively small with a very minimal and limited parking lot. So the restaurant can get filled real fast. read more

My friend and I ate here for dinner on a not-so-typical Tuesday night. We were immediately seated and chose the bar area as we arrived at 7:30pm. The restaurant's ambiance is certainly cozy and modern. I ordered a non-spicy Miso Ramen while my friend opted for Miso Butter Ramen with corn and chili oil. Our orders were ready within 10 minutes and the lady behind the bar was very accommodating. She was kind enough to take a few pictures for us. The ramen bowls were truly appetizing and instagram worthy. The ramen noodles were freshly cooked, the vegetables were crisp while the pork slices were absolutely tender. At first, I thought I needed more broth, but it definitely had a perfect umami taste and realized the portions were just right. It legitimately tasted like the ramen I had in Japan a few years ago. On another note, I truly dig their decorations and dedication to Shohei Ohtani, our legendary Dodger! Thanks to my friend and wonderful experience here, Tomizo Ramen will now be my go-to restaurant for authentic ramen in the South Bay! read more

My very first impression was that parking is very limited! The restaurant is also very small. Bar seating and a couple of tables. Feels a little tight inside. The servers were great! They were so nice about explaining the menu. I ordered the limited tomizo bowl because I couldn't help that it was exclusive. The bowl definitely lived up to the description that it is huge!! It really can feed two people! The broth is very savory and strong garlic flavor. The noodles are thick noodles. It was a bit overwhelming for me! Though it tasted very good, I think next time I will try a different bowl. I like the classic toppings with corn, seaweed, bamboo, egg, etc. This bowl had a lot of baggage and onion. I thought the takoyaki was delicious! It came out very hot! I think next time I will try a different ramen! Tomizo was savory and flavorful, but I thought the cabbage took over the bowl. read more

As a self proclaimed ramen snob, this place is average. I doordashed some miso ramen and added corn and egg. The chashu is really good but the broth and noodles tasted a little off. Not super flavorful. I live less than 5 minutes away, but my order had cooled down significantly by the time I got it, which was disappointing. Even the inside of the egg was still cold after microwaving it a bit. Likely will stick to my old faithful for ramen in the area. read more
