Ordered a tampopo ramen, cha sui ramen, and crunch roll (about $55) The noodles were nice texture and the tampopo has 2 pieces of cha sui which was more than enough for me. They also offer free bowl of rice when you order a ramen but upon request! The crunch roll was decently good. There was a 10 minute wait on Saturday around 6pm The parking is a bit compact but usually always has a spot in the back. The service was nice and friendly. Tampopo is always a good spot to order takeout ramen, although not my first choice , but since they're open early for dinner, Tampopo it is. First time seeing restaurant at neighboring shopping complex at corner of South Street & Pioneer Blvd, Artesia (literally sandwiched in the middle of City of Cerritos. My family had a very disappointing experience at Tampopo tonight. My brother ordered the fried golden salmon, a dish he has ordered there before. Instead, he was served a raw sushi roll with rice, which was completely different from what he ordered. When he politely explained to the server that this wasn't his order, the plate was taken back. A few minutes later, the exact same item was brought back, only it had been dressed up with a few garnishes. It was still not the fried salmon he ordered. When my brother pointed this out a second time, the server loudly insisted that it was what he ordered and told him that if he didn't like it, he could leave. This happened in front of other customers and the rest of our family, which was embarrassing, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. Everyone makes mistakes, and bringing the wrong dish isn't the issue. The problem was how the situation was handled. A simple apology and replacing the meal with the correct order would have resolved everything. Instead, the server argued with the customer and embarrassed him. This also raises a safety concern. If someone has food allergies or dietary restrictions, serving the wrong meal and insisting it's correct could have serious consequences. Hardworking customers deserve to be treated with respect. We came expecting good food and good service, but unfortunately left feeling disrespected. Based on this experience, we will definitely think twice before returning. I hope management addresses this situation so future customers don't have to go through the same experience. read more

This is the second time I have ordered sushi from here and I had baked salmon which was good but my spicy tuna rolls, I noticed the salmon was rubbery feeling and tasted old. It was our first time here we came on my birthday a hour after they open. And let me say the food was 10/10! the service was 10/10 .! We ordered ramen , sushi and the bento box and we left with our tummy full. We weren't even able to finish everything. The women's restroom was spotless clean. I loved how homey it felt as well. I ordered the chashu ramen and it was ok. We also ordered the spicy crunch role (which btw was HUGE for a sushi roll ). The roll was kinda sloppily made, and when picking it up with my chopstick, it literally disintegrated. The taste wasn't that good either. Moving on to the spicy edamame. Not sure how you can mess this up but the sauce was just way too overpowering. It was like a citrus kinda spicy?? And laying in a pool of it. Our meal today was downright average, bordering on not good. I got their Sushi Combo A 50% off special thing - it came with 5 pieces of nigiri, a special roll of my choice, and miso soup for $24. The nigiri tasted very flavorless - as someone who loves nigiri, this sushi did not celebrate the fish at all and some were chewy or fishy. My special roll (Hulk roll) was very average - I think I just made a bad choice in my selection, but I disliked the sauce it was coated in. Food here is always good and consistent. Sushi is fresh, sushi rice is very well seasoned and the texture is spot on. Katsudon and BBQ ribs are really good. Not too sweet on the katsudon sauce and loaded with onions and egg! BBQ rib is similar to kbbq galbi, but overall tasty. Will come again! read more

I went to Tampopo years ago, and felt the food was average. I came back today and I still feel the same. We got 4 rolls and miso. They have a large but non-interesting sushi menu with the large majority of the rolls being crab, cucumber, and avocado inside just with small differences of the outside ingredients. Multiple of our plates were chipped with rough edges, which wasn't an issue but just could use upgrading. Miso was just broth and green onions, no seaweed, no tofu pieces. Service was attentive, we were quickly seated. The restaurant itself is cramped especially if seated at the tables next to the walk way. We had you people brushing past you through out the meal. Parking can be a nightmare in this plaza as well. With so many high quality sushi places in the South Bay, this is simply a skip for me. I paid an average price ($10 a roll) for just ok food. A really good sushi spot where majority of their sushi is on a 50% off deal! Parking is somewhat difficult as it is a packed plaza, inside dining is small but many spaces to sit. I ordered to go and the servers were very nice! Their sushi is always great and the quality is pretty good, many many different options to choose from when it comes to the sushi but I recommend items from the crunch/tempura section! Their signature ramen, the Tampopo, is not like how I remember. We had been coming here several times over the years, and this was our go to place for ramen. The broth has less of a depth of flavor. The service is quick, the lack to clean up after a prior customer left me in shock. Debris and trash was left on the floor by a previous customer without it being cleaned up by the staff. It is unfortunate that this place has lost my respect. Portions are also smaller than what I remember. Too bad since this was one of my favorite places for ramen. read more

My fiance and I actually came to Tozai plaza to go to the sushi place next door (one of our faves), but as we were walking up-- noticed their health score was a "B". We turned around and I asked him if we could have lunch here at Tampopo. Everything was great. The sushi was fresh, the hot rolls came out HOT and not overcooked. The servers were attentive. There wasn't too many people inside, it was about half full on a Wednesday afternoon. We enjoyed all of the food we ordered. Everything was tasty.
