Popped in for a Friday night dinner and enjoyed the pastas and upscale offerings. I got a dirty martini that tasted oddly sweet so I didn't enjoy that and neither did my friend enjoy her spritzer. But the pastas were great and I'd go back to try others especially on weds during their pasta night special.

LOVE this cutesy spot! The food and drinks and vibes are so good. I tried a new thing with the cheese plate at the recommendation of staff and she did not disappoint.

The food and ambiance was lovely! First started with the drinks (I loved the love pomelo spritz) and my friend had the botanico (more tart but the bartenders was kind enough to sweeten it!) the bartenders were attentive and kind throughout the experience. The sardine toast was not my favorite, the bread was great (from cafe dear Leon) with butter and sardine but can be pretty salty. The pasta was fabulous! My friend and I split the lamb and eggplant rigatoni. I preferred the eggplant with the a nice rustic red sauce while my friend preferred the red wine reduction sauce lamb. A great experience overall!

Made a reservation online for happy hour. I was so pleasantly surprised by this place. The menu seems to rotate often. Everything was delicious. The ricotta was served with freshly baker focaccia bread and was light but flavorful. The broccoli had nice zaatar spice. The pasta was the star, freshly shaved truffle - for a great price and it was the BEST!!! Pasta all made in house. So delicious. Branzino was perfect too. Wine on happy hour was $10. Overall great experience. The server recommended good things and was a delight. We will definitely be coming back!

I came with a small group of friends for dinner and despite having a reservation, it took over 15 minutes for our table to be ready. When we did get seated, we realized how quiet the space felt, despite how many people were occupying tables nearby. Throughout our meal, we kept getting stared at by other patrons, despite trying to match the noise level by talking quietly, and it was not a comfortable experience. The food is expensive and other than their drinks and dessert, I didn't think it was worth it. Our drinks came out significantly later than the food, but they were very yummy. The carbonara was unimpressive, with burnt bacon and no discernible flavor to the sauce. The portions are small for the price, and no bread is served to the table, so we grabbed dessert as well to compensate. The tiramisu and gelato are really good, but what really blew me away was one of their specials of the night--the tiramisu affogato. Hands down the best tiramisu I've ever had. I personally wouldn't go there again, but I'm glad I went and got to experience that tiramisu affogato.

Overall rating: 7/10 Food - 7/10 My friend and I ordered the baby back ribs (6/10) as an appetizer. They were well-cooked, but the seasoning was too light, letting the porkiness leak through more than I like. The 18oz ribeye (7.5/10) was beautifully roasted, and I really liked the seasoning -- it was delicate and rich -- though it was a bit too salty for my friend's liking. For pasta, we went with the classic pomodoro (7.5/10). The tomato sauce tasted house-made and had a refreshing profile, which was one of the highlights of the meal. Our favorite, however, was the tiramisu (8/10) -- soft, creamy, and perfectly balanced in flavor. Bottom line: The food is well-cooked with great texture, but the seasoning still has room for improvement. Looking through the comments, it seems that others have noticed the same issue too. Service - 6/10 The service was quite slow, even though the staff were friendly. The owner Min Kim was handling both the reception and the bar, but you still feel you have to wait quite a while at every step of the dining process. Ambience - 8/10 The interior design was dainty and aesthetically pleasing. It's a popular spot for couples looking for a special night out.

this isn't my first time at love pomelo but it was my friends and they liked it! my favorite thing i got was the beets, that with the goat cheese was an amazing combination. the tiramisu was good as well but had a little too much powder on top for me. our server was nice and did a good job checking in on us!

We came for their Wednesday $20 pasta special. We didn't have reservations and sat at the bar. It's absolutely beautiful inside and the service was exceptional. Great date night spot. Loved the Bucantini gricia pasta. The aperol spritz was one of the best I've ever.

Finally got a chance to try Love, Pomelo. It's a very cute place right by Cafe Dear Leon. Really nice staff and small but cozy on the inside. 2 tops were close together but not too close. And the food was delicious. We had a couple of drinks, one Spritz and a mocktail that was really good. We had the meatballs, romanesco, and burrata appetizers, then the A'Matriciana, Bolognese Bianco and Granchio (crab) pastas. All the food was delicious. The burrata was a real standout with the blood oranges, almonds and chocolate. Fabulous. And all 3 pastas were really good. We tried the tiramisu afogato for dessert which was also fabulous. Can't wait to come back!

@lovepomelorestaurant for dinner we shared a burrata (nothing special), tonna crudo and potatoes pre the main course AKA the bottarga spaghetti with crab meat --- which was divine! dirty gin martini was great too --- overall a little pricey for Baltimore

Finally made it here after attempting for the better part of a year! Unfortunately I wasn't exceptionally hungry when I came but the updated happy hour menu did not disappoint. Service was excellent and everything we ate and drank was well crafted; that's the best way to put it. The special pairing, the figs and prosciutto, the meats and cheeses of the charcuterie were all delicious not to mention spritz, negrito, and martini were fabulous! Honestly no notes. Can't wait to go back for a full dinner.

I am updating my review after the last two times I have dined at Live Pomelo. I didn't feel it was fair to lower my rating after just one not so great experience, but now there was 2nd one I must. First, I would like to say the hostess was fantastic. I'm sorry I didn't get her name but she was lovely, personable, and friendly. The place is nice and cozy. But something with their communication is lacking. We planned an evening out for 6 of us. Most of us had not been here and were very excited. To get there and see the menu online was completely different than the menu we were given was disappointing. People with dietary restrictions planned from what was on their site. But to find the menu altered and much less options was annoying. Especially since the menu consisted of 3 appetizer options, 4 pastas, and two meat entrees (I'm pescatarian). Thankfully they had two specials one chicken and one fish not on the menu. But the experience was very odd. We couldn't order any apps as you must order your entire meal at once. Our server was not very friendly at first and when we did ask questions it seemed like we got an answer of no or we can for extra costs. We ordered the burrata and it was the size of a golf ball. Thankfully we ordered two. We also had to ask and pay for bread to go with it an extra $2 and $1 for olive oil. Now I understand extra costs but $22 for a golf ball sized burrata with 4 slivers of kiwi and a few cut up white asparagus? Maybe include two pieces of bread. Now is the food good? Yes! But the pricing seems off and it's changed since we first came here last year. I do understand cost changes in this economy but it's changing the experience to be nickeled and dimed. The pasta is $20 on Wednesdays, but no where does it say that and the server didn't mention it until we were ordering. Google said it was 1/2 price bottles of Wine on Wednesdays and when we asked the server quickly said "No, we don't do that! Maybe we did, but not now." Ok so why would we think $20 pasta night was still a thing? Anyway the food is good, the service is spotty, and the extra charges for every little thing (that in my option make the dishes better) should be analyzed. We left with a feeling of frustration more than a great dining experience.

Finally got the chance to check out Love, Pomelo for dinner on a random Tuesday night and I was truly blown away! The decor is stunning and well curated. Every nook seems to feature a gorgeous detail. I especially love the bar seating since the stools are really comfortable. You could easily enjoy a multi course meal at the bar and feel like you were at one of their well-appointed dining tables. More places need to take note of their bar stools - I'm so sick of these hard, backless, wooden stools at places! Love, Pomelo actually allows you to get comfortable and stay a while. We ordered the steak tartare, the endive salad, the mussels, and the squash. My boyfriend also got the carbonara pasta. Sadly, they don't have any gluten free pasta as of now. I'd love to see a GF noodle option in the future since the pastas seem like the true stars of the show. However, the steak tartare and endive salad were incredible! It is probably the best steak tartare I've ever had, maybe taking second place after The Charleston (and that's saying a lot). The endive salad was so flavorful and paired well with slices of pear. Such a creative dish. I loved the two spritzes I tried, the love pomelo spritz and the spritz di mare. Although, the spritz di mare was my favorite; the combo of grapefruit juice and white balsamic vinegar was so refreshing. Service was excellent from start to finish. I will definitely be back!

There's a back area, sort of like a dinning room, with little booths for those wishing for some privacy. The red lights gives the bar that good old 1920s (prohibition) feel. I felt at any moment the authorities would swing through the door forcing us to hide our drinks. **Wild thoughts** Kyle made a cocktail he's "been working on" and he needs to put that shxt on the menu asap! So delicious. It was late night and I stayed here about an hour (closed the spot ha) and I was able to enjoy a mini impromptu concert by another patron Ebony, as Kyle was sweet enough to play some of her music. All in all, a perfect end to my evening. High recommendation for Rye. The End.

This one was an unexpected gem and one of the most memorable stops of our Fells Point trip…read more We walked in on a Thursday night (not sure of the exact time), and it was completely empty. No bartender in sight, no other patrons, no background noise. For a moment, we genuinely wondered if we were in the right place. The bar is down a flight of stairs, tucked into the basement, and it's notable because it's Fells Point's only and possibly first basement bar, which already gives it serious character points. We waited near the bar for a few minutes, heard nothing, saw no one, and eventually started heading back up the stairs to leave. That's when Steve, the bartender, literally came after usnot in a weird way, but in a very human, "Hey! Sorry about that, I was in the stock room come back in!" way. And honestly? From that moment on, the experience completely flipped. Steve was phenomenal. Friendly, welcoming, deeply knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the place. He's worked there for 18 years, and once we sat down, he turned the bar into a living history lesson. He shared stories about Fells Point, Baltimore, Edgar Allan Poe, the building itself, and all the ghost stories tied to the space. He also told us about the celebrities who've passed through, including the fun detail that Blake Shelton once sat in the very bar stool I was sitting in and ordered a Bullet bourbon. Naturally, that kind of trivia just adds to the charm. Drink-wise, I ordered an Angry Orchard, and my friend had a single Tito's with cranberry and soda water. Our total was $26.16, which feels pretty standard for Baltimore definitely not cheap, but not shocking either. The bar itself is small, intimate, and packed with atmosphere exposed brick, low ceilings, and that cozy, historic, slightly haunted vibe you hope for in a basement bar. It's also connected to The William Fell Inn hotel through a separate entrance, which makes it feel like a hidden secret rather than a tourist stop. We loved the history, the stories, the ghosts, the setting and especially Steve. Being the only patrons that night was actually a gift, because it let us really soak it all in. That said, we're absolutely planning to come back on a busy night to see how the energy shifts when it's full. If you love historic bars, good storytelling, and places that feel like they've seen things Anchor Bar is a must. ‍
