We had a very positive experience here. We were seated right away and the decor was lovely. Superstars at dinner were the Pad Thai and the Thai iced tea! I was a little disappointed with the steak and mushrooms. The sauce was nice but the steak was a little dry. The same with the pork... A little dry. Perhaps it was because it was the end of the night. The sauce that accompanied the BBQ pork was nice but did not help with the dryness unfortunately. The fried brussels sprouts were fine. Stopped by on a Wednesday afternoon when they had just opened around 4:30pm so we were the only ones at the time. Staff were still pretty attentive and checked on us often. By around 5pm, we noticed a lot of people picking up takeouts. Definitely seemed like a very popular restaurant. Inside was nicely decorated though on the smaller side than I had expected. I can imagine it probably gets crowded on a Friday/Saturday night. Food was decent and generous in portion. Food presentation was on point! Got the Fried Vegetarian Roll, Pad Thai with Shrimp, and Mango Crispy Chicken. I'm still in search for the best pad thai and this is definitely not it. Food was good but not great. The fresh rolls surprised me because they only contained lettuce. I'm used to noodles and shrimp as well as lettuce in fresh rolls. The Pad Thai with chicken had more fish sauce than I am used to and the noodles were unusually thin. The Green Curry with beef was more watery than I am used to but the beef wasn't tough and the curry had a good flavor. Love at First Bite is a Thai restaurant in the historic town of Lexington, MA. It is located on Massachusetts Ave. Driving up to the restaurant, you are surrounded by local shops and businesses. Though we visited during the winter, I imagine it to be a beautiful stroll during the spring or fall time. My initial impression upon entering was that the interior of restaurant was gorgeous. The reception area had a beautiful chandelier. The wait was short to be seated. Inside, there was a bar seating area and dining tables with more beautiful lightings fixtures above them. Aside from the beautiful tiles, there was a accent wall that was Thai themed. There is also a small semi enclosed dining area with window view. The priced is a lot higher at Love at First Bite compared to most Thai restaurants because the quality and freshness of the ingredients were in my opinion superior. You can tell the difference just with a simple order of the traditional Thai chicken and coconut soup, Tom kha Kai. Other restaurants I have had this dish uses cheap white button mushroom and chicken breast meat which tends to be dry and rubbery when boiled. At Love at First Bite, you get tender dark chicken meat and a medley of delicious mushrooms. For entree, we ordered three dishes. My husband ordered the BBQ pork dish which came with sticky rice. The meat was well seasoned and tender. I ordered the taro rice which seemed to be a local favorite. It had chunks of sausage, chicken and mushrooms. It was cooked steamed over a bed of sticky rice and wrapped in leaves. The sticky rice was cooked perfectly through. I also ordered the Pad Thai with crispy duck. In retrospect, I should have chosen a different protein since the crispy duck was very dry. The pad Thai noodle itself was solid. Overall, food was solid in terms of quality. In terms of flavor, I can understand why some Yelpers were underwhelmed with the blandness since Thai food is known for packing its dishes with bold flavors. I think the restaurant is catering to a less bold flavor profile for their customer base. I think it is just perfect for those who would like to try out Thai food for a first time. I also think the restaurant is a great for a first date or special dinner night for couples. The staff were wonderful. Our waitress was so good to my kids. I brought with me my rambunctious toddler and hungry 6-years-old. Luckily it was during late lunch hour and the restaurant was just about clearing out when we arrived because my kids were loud and killing the mood. On top of everything, they made a huge mess. The Thai tea and Thai coffee drinks, a little bland, had matching flavored popsicles that were an instant hit with my kids. Thank goodness because food did take a bit of time to arrive. I used to get takeout from here twice a week and would also visit for the occasional weekend dine-in. Loved the spicy basil fried rice and the presentation of their Thai iced teas in particular. I had a really bad experience service-wise recently, and I won't be returning here. The restaurant closes every weekday in between lunch and dinner service (used to be 2:30 - 4:30, now it's 2:45 - 4:15). We arrived at 1:45PM not knowing they closed for part of the day. We were rushed to order before we even sat down at the table, and our checks were brought when the food came out. Understandable if we were the only ones in the restaurant... but there were other occupied tables also eating. I was so uncomfortable with the waiter hovering at our table and with his sarcastic comments that we hardly ate our meals and instead we got to-go boxes. The waiter even removed a plate we were working on, I guess to remind us that we had to be out of there ASAP. We were rushed to leave while three other tables were finishing their meals (one table had ordered another drink and dessert while we were eating...). The kicker is we left at 2:20pm, BEFORE they closed and with other tables STILL occupying the restaurant but nowhere near as rushed as we were! I find it weird that our table was so closely scrutinized while the others were not. I also find it a strange coincidence that we were the only non-white patrons there. Question for the restaurant: why does your lunch menu state it's offered until 2:45pm if you are going to treat patrons coming in at 1:45pm so poorly? My recommendation for the restaurant: DON'T seat parties 45 minutes before closing after lunch if the service will be so abysmal. Just flat out say you only offer takeout at that time instead of treating your patrons like cattle I really liked this place before too. Too bad read more

I literally had to take pad thai home and throw it on a frying pan to be able to get more flavor out of my own food. Came here for lunch on a weekend, for the first time. Hubby and I ordered the coconut shrimp appetizer, their vegetarian spring roll, drunk noodles with egg and tofu, and their spicy basil beef. Total came out to around $45. What's Hot - Health and safety standards. During this time of the pandemic, people are not required to wear masks if they're vaccinated. However, every restaurant staff we saw wore masks. A few of them had gloves on, as well. I presume they're vaccinated, but that they're taking these additional precautions felt reassuring. When hubby and I entered the restaurant, we also saw the hostess wiping down their menus, which was a nice extra touch. From my point of view, it shows that they're taking this pandemic very seriously and they're taking whatever steps necessary to ensure they maintain a healthy and clean environment. That means something. - Service. Our water glasses were served within a couple of minutes when they seated us. We were a party of four, which means that we took a little extra time to chat. As a result, we weren't ready to order during the first couple of times they asked us. They gave us a few more minutes each time and there was no rush. Water glasses were filled throughout the meal. We asked them to split the check between us 2 couples, and there was no problem with that. Food was served pretty quickly. Their staff are effective and quick. Very good! - Quality. Yummers! The spring rolls were flavorful and the peanut sauce was a nice touch. A little sweet, but not overly so. That I was able to order my drunken noodles with egg was a nice touch. The noodles had a good amount of veggies in there- tofu, onions, bell peppers, and broccoli. There were pieces of fresh basil that were stir fried in there, as well. Very nice and yummy flavor. Wide and chewy rice noodles, which I love. Hubby's spicy basil beef had a good amount of vegetables and beef in there. They served wild grain/brown rice, rather than white rice, which was nice. It's healthier, which is something I appreciate. - Menu. Pretty good variety and there's something for everyone, particularly for vegetarians. There are noodles (pad thai, wide rice noodles), fried rice, curry, tofu, different types of meats, desserts, etc.... - They provide chopsticks. This may seem silly to some, but I prefer to eat Asian food, in general, with chopsticks. There are many Asian restaurants that do not provide chopsticks, which may be an indicator as to their clientele, which I don't consider a good thing. That they automatically provide you chopsticks is something I appreciate and enjoy. What's Not - Parking. To be fair, the restaurant has less control over an issue like this. However, it is something to be aware of. Immediate parking in the vicinity is paid parking and it's not always easy to find, either. - Quality. The eggs in my drunken noodles were very small. It looks like they just stirred it in, towards the end of cooking, which made the eggs very difficult to find. It wasn't chunks of scrambled egg, which is what it's supposed to be. - Spice. Hubby's spicy basil beef wasn't very spicy, which he was disappointed with. To be fair, my husband has a high tolerance for spice, but that their menu shows some items as 2 peppers, which means very spicy, and they don't live up to it, was disappointing. - Price and portions. This restaurant isn't very expensive, but the portions aren't very reasonable to the price. They're reasonable, but not conducive to sharing family style. Everything is individual size, which was kind of disappointing. I prefer my Asian restaurants to be conducive to family size sharing portions. This is my fave Thai restaurant for sure. I have yet to have a bad dish. The place doesn't hold back on delivering the heat. It's a little bit on the pricier side (better quality, less quantity). Miang Kham...where have you been all my life? This is the most perfect bite. It hits your entire palate (salty, sweet, sour, spicy, crunch). I can eat this alone as a meal. The crazy roll is perfectly crispy. It's like a supersized version of a Vietnamese Cha Gio. Also big fans of the Kua Kling and the Spicy Beef basil. The thai iced tea comes with a thai iced tea popsicle. This drink you can share but why should you? Be selfish and drink it all for yourself. Its a 2for1 drink and dessert. I've gotten take out from here a few times and have been underwhelmed each time. The crispy chicken is dry and chewy it's not even edible. Indonesian fried rice didn't have a signature fried egg or cucumbers, it was just dark fried rice, onions, and for some reason topped with two chicken breasts. I asked for mild but the random chicken was quite spicy. All of the dishes taste kind of similar. I think they just use the same few sauces for the different carbs and then cook the proteins the same regardless of the dish it's going on and top the carb with it. The chef here has definitely never cooked authentic Thai food before. On top of that, it's WAYYY too pricey for what it is. Inside of the restaurant itself seems nice. read more

Vibrant room with an amusing mural, colorful lights, and small tables for two placed VERY close together. The dishes are just as colorful and sometimes accented with flowers. The menu has a few different appetizer sections and a few different entree sections, which requires much flipping back and forth, but the ample appealing photos make ordering a breeze. Miang Kham ("one-bite wrap"): Very colorful appetizer of single bite leaves served in soup spoons. Fold it up and pop it in your mouth for a miniature salad of toasted coconut, peanuts, chile peppers, ginger, lime, and shallots. A little dry (no dipping sauce) but kind of tasty. Wings: Tiny, barely crispy, and served on top of a pool of bright red sweet sauce. Khao Soi Salmon: Northern Thai dish presented one large hunk of salmon (about the size of a whiteboard eraser) topped with thin crunchy fried noodles and balanced underneath with thin, very soft egg noodles submerged in a fairly mild curry sauce. Accoutrements on the side (lime, chile, shallots, etc.) allowed tweaking to desired flavor levels. Service was minimal, even on a slow shift. Convenient parking behind the building. A decent meal, and I see some potential here for more, but I get the impression (granted, after only one visit) that Love At First Bite is a Disneyfied version of Thai geared more for the Instagram set than seekers of transcendent food. Still worth a try though, and I'll probably be back at some point. read more

I'll start with the positive. The ambiance is great. It's probably one of the prettiest Thai restaurants I've been to (and I've been to many!). If I were basing my review on appearances it would be five stars but the food and vibe from the staff was one star so I landed on 3 stars overall. During the week they are open for lunch until 2:45 and then apparently they close and reopen for dinner at 4:30. I arrived at 2:15 and was given the distinct feeling that although they would serve me, they'd rather not. I was told to choose my table (there were many open as only a few other people were dining in) and within a few seconds the hostess came over and told me that the kitchen closes at 2:30. I quickly ordered chicken pad see yu and in about 5 min (maybe less), it was served. It was the most disappointing dish I've ever had. It didn't taste right, not that it was inedible, it just didn't have the right flavor profile. The texture was dry, the chicken was rubbery and cut in roughly shaped pieces and there were no vegetables apart from three tiny pieces of broccoli. It was also very salty. I really like this place and the people who run it! It's one of the only places that uses actual Thai eggplants in their curry dishes. I wish they had some more menu options but I think they have been slowly adding things. The ladies who work here are really sweet. My first meal there with the family about a year or so ago was great. We had pad thai, chicken satays, and curry and it was all delicious. Recently, they've gone downhill. In our last meal, the sticky rice that came out in a bamboo casing was rock hard as though they'd microwaved frozen and pre-prepared rice. The curry was cold and the meat was tough. The pork that we received was fatty and impossible to eat. The worst part was the drunken noodles that were hard and cold and wouldn't come apart. We ate about a quarter of the dish before we gave up because it was inedible. I can't believe I paid so much for such a mediocre meal. read more
