Philip Reavey 1 review Worst attempt at an Italian sub ever. I shouda got a prize for finding the meat...less than 1 oz of cold cuts. Both me and my son got a 1/4 of a pickle spear in our baskets...1 inch...they cut up the spears..very strange. Then got robbed when I paid for it. $12 + $11 + smallest bag of chips (1oz) and a cheap soda, so the chips and the soda were $5. I'll never be back. Bit of advice...make the money but don't let the money make you. In other words don't be cheap. This is what an Italian sub should look like.

This is a hidden gem in the neighborhood. I didn't know why it took me so long to try. It is small place for takeout only. They don't have a big book of menu items, but do cover most homemade dishes we would want for a family meal, from burgers, sandwiches, to pasta, salad, grilled steak/lamb/chicken. The price is reasonable and the portion is generous. Note you need to call one day ahead of time if you need a big meal to feed 4+ people. We tried cheeseburger, buffalo fingers, and homemade meatballs. The cheeseburger was delicious, an explosion of flavor at the first bite! The meatballs were well seasoned. The buffalo fingers looked dark and not attractive, but tasted surprisingly good. We were happy with our meal, and would come back again.

"Steak bomb" was amazing, as were the fries!! The bread was so light and flaky- so good! I ordered take out today (very nice over the phone) and the food was amazing!! Pick up took two seconds, and I was tempted by the cookies and homemade soups at the counter. Will definitely be ordering takeout from here again!

Very tasty food that's easy to pick up for a nice dinner. I particularly like the chicken marsala, the coq au vin, and meat lasagna.

I hate to write a bad review and almost never do, but our experience at this Mother's Day brunch…read morewas so disappointing on a day that is very significant for many people, I felt it was important to provide honest feedback. Town Meeting Bistro is a beautiful space in lovely historic Lexington. This brunch had three seatings. We arrived a few minutes early for the second seating (at 12) to a long line and a 20 minute wait to be seated. Our table was lovely. The brunch included a buffet appetizer/dessert component and a plated entrée from their menu. The buffet portion was extremely disappointing, they advertised a decadent spread, including oysters, etc., but it was a very modest assortment of things (no oysters, a bowl of cocktail shrimp that was empty most of the time). I waited 10 minutes for them to refill empty bagel baskets (and asked a server) before giving up. The desserts were not impressive, fruit bowl was smaller than what I serve at family gatherings. But most notably, there was a constant very long line at the buffet and most items were continuously empty (even buffet plates were unavailable twice). There was no children's menu despite it obviously being an event that catered to families with children. There was an advertised bouquet activity for children, but by the second seating, the flowers were very picked over and the bouquet apparently only allowed for "three stems". Brunch did come with a mimosa, which was nice, but service was very slow (no fault of the server, just the chaotic and presumably understaffed set up). There were issues with two of the dishes that we ordered (one was the wrong omelette, another was the wrong dish altogether). None of this would have been bad review worthy, except that the price per person was $130! For that I expected much better quality, variety, set up and overall experience. They did acknowledge the mistakes with the entrées and comped a cocktail so I appreciated that, but definitely will not return (and am embarrassed that I was the one who picked this option for this special family event as no one left feeling good about it).

It was more upscale than we planned…read morewhen we decided to get some grub before the Lafayette in America event - but it was a nice accident. The restaurant is in an inn and just being in the building is a pleasure. We went in the front door and asked where the restaurant was and had the pleasure of being lead to the back of the building through colorful rooms with vintage inspired wall paper. The green cameos on the front halls wallpaper were fuzzy!! The bathrooms were also a freaking delight. Great wall paper everywhere. The dining room was very beautiful with high back chairs and a fire place. They also offered dining on the porch which was really beautiful too - the inn is not secluded by any means, but there wasn't an overbearing amount of traffic, so the porch would probably be lovely. We ate inside though. My husband tried to go light and healthy with claim chowder and the seasonal vegetable. He also got an espresso. I just went ahead and got the burger with the salad. The burger came with homemade pickles which were pretty tasty. The salad had green tomatoes which were very interesting. All around I had a great meal. They also have an excellent selection of cocktails. I had a hard time choosing. but I ended up with the Rose Gold which featured some awesome rose gin. I love anything that tastes floral and this made me super happy. Also, plus points for the paper straw! Our waitress was also excellent and had a really warm persona. AND they were playing all my late 60's early 70's jams. I had a super pleasant time even if we didn't get the breakfast we were hoping for. The restaurant is walking distance from the historical sites downtown and great for a special experience or treat. Would love to see the rest of the inn some day.

We had an unexpected trip to the area that morning to visit a local store…read more When we were done, we noticed it was just about lunch time and decided to find a place to eat. There were many options to choose from but we do like to try places that are not always traditional. Hoping for a local favorite. Right on the corner, it is easy to find and with street parking easy to get to and enjoy a good meal and probably a late night gathering with friends. Rustic looking, it definitely put off the vibe of the local establishment for Arlington. We were the first customers that early afternoon. They were literally unlocking the doors when we arrived. The menu offered enough options to satisfy our dietary and personal preferences. Meats, chicken, fish and veggie options. You can find something. Staff was very friendly and attentive, but we were the only guest that early in the day. The crowd did pick up as we ate our meal. Large windows allowed you to sit and people watch on, what I would imagine is the Main Street for the town. It was Sunday so a little quiet so not a lot people watching today. Food was great and the presentation was a lot more than expected for a tavern. Full bar options and a good list of local craft beers. I love trying local beers when possible. A lot of space for seating during the day and I can only imagine the evening bar scene. Based on the number of people who did walk in while we were there to recover their credit card from the night before. Sounds weird but it totally gave off the local vibe. Love it. Very clean and tidy for a Tavern. Respectful place. Plenty of TVs to watch your favorite game so I enjoyed a chance to see one of the Sweet 16 games that day. So, if you are in town, give Town Tavern a visit.

Today I gave it a try and felt that it was good in some areas and just ok in others. Overall the food tasted pretty healthy despite having pork belly and chorizo. The seasoning was definitely on the lighter side, where the french onion soup was tasting pretty close to an extremely light broth. Tried the cassoulet which I've heard of before but never seen on a menu. It was very hearty but also a but bland. Pulled pork and pork belly seemed to have zero salt. Duck leg confit also very bland. It was cooked well but just bland. The dishes with citrus were quite tasty. Beets and arugala salad very good, good quality goat cheese. Alligator chorizo grilled oysters surprisingly good. Never had alligator chorizo before but it was crispy and not fatty even though it resembled bacon visually. The oysters were small, even more small in comparison to the chorizo but it was a good bite. I would recommend skipping the clam chowder, french onion soup (not really caramelized onions to be honest), and the cassoulet unless you feel empowered to salt your own food. The clientele was definitely in the 60+ range. Nothing wrong with that obviously but tastes change with age and maybe thats why the seasoning was so light. Today there were just two wait staff for the whole place. Seemed understaffed and it took almost thirty minutes for food to come out. Waiting for the check took about fifteen minutes. Staff was nice but definitely overloaded. Today was a holiday though.

I rarely give five stars but this place deserves it. The atmosphere was as it should be, a restaurant, not a New Year's Eve sports bar. It started off with great dinner rolls that you could eat a hundred of. We also had a nice house Canernet Sauvignon. Appetizer was a seafood tower (oysters, shrimp, lobster). A great start. My wife had a filet mignon and fries, I had a rib eye (I never have any other steak) and Brussels sprouts. Everything was absolutely delicious, an absolute riot of flavor. If I could change two things, I wish they had a bone-in ribeye and I would pass on the red wine salt. A little TOO salty. I topped it off with cappuccino. We skipped dessert as they would have had to roll us out of there. Price pre-tip- $245. Worth every penny. This a great steakhouse and loke I said, I almost never give five stars. Great job, folks.

Seafood tower was good. Rib Eye steak was average at best - very salt about 1/2 inch thin. The place was jammed and must do things right, more times that wrong, but I'm hard pressed to go back.
