Philip Reavey 1 review Worst attempt at an Italian sub ever. I shouda got a prize for finding the meat...less than 1 oz of cold cuts. Both me and my son got a 1/4 of a pickle spear in our baskets...1 inch...they cut up the spears..very strange. Then got robbed when I paid for it. $12 + $11 + smallest bag of chips (1oz) and a cheap soda, so the chips and the soda were $5. I'll never be back. Bit of advice...make the money but don't let the money make you. In other words don't be cheap. This is what an Italian sub should look like.

This is a hidden gem in the neighborhood. I didn't know why it took me so long to try. It is small place for takeout only. They don't have a big book of menu items, but do cover most homemade dishes we would want for a family meal, from burgers, sandwiches, to pasta, salad, grilled steak/lamb/chicken. The price is reasonable and the portion is generous. Note you need to call one day ahead of time if you need a big meal to feed 4+ people. We tried cheeseburger, buffalo fingers, and homemade meatballs. The cheeseburger was delicious, an explosion of flavor at the first bite! The meatballs were well seasoned. The buffalo fingers looked dark and not attractive, but tasted surprisingly good. We were happy with our meal, and would come back again.

"Steak bomb" was amazing, as were the fries!! The bread was so light and flaky- so good! I ordered take out today (very nice over the phone) and the food was amazing!! Pick up took two seconds, and I was tempted by the cookies and homemade soups at the counter. Will definitely be ordering takeout from here again!

Very tasty food that's easy to pick up for a nice dinner. I particularly like the chicken marsala, the coq au vin, and meat lasagna.

Our server/ bartender Tom, was personable and helpful! We appreciated him! We started off with their buffalo chicken dip and adult beverages. Tom made a great Manhattan! Thank you! My wife enjoyed a glass of their red wine. Our buffalo chicken dip came out relatively quickly and was delicious! We've had several variations of this and think we prefer the shredded chicken better than the chicken chunks that they serve here. For our main course, my wife decided on their Mesquite barbecue chicken wings with the dry rub while I dove in for a Caesar salad adding blackened salmon. My wife enjoyed her wings immensely well I thought the Caesar salad was well done and the salmon cooked perfectly to my order! Overall a good visit! Thank you!

We had an unexpected trip to the area that morning to visit a local store…read more When we were done, we noticed it was just about lunch time and decided to find a place to eat. There were many options to choose from but we do like to try places that are not always traditional. Hoping for a local favorite. Right on the corner, it is easy to find and with street parking easy to get to and enjoy a good meal and probably a late night gathering with friends. Rustic looking, it definitely put off the vibe of the local establishment for Arlington. We were the first customers that early afternoon. They were literally unlocking the doors when we arrived. The menu offered enough options to satisfy our dietary and personal preferences. Meats, chicken, fish and veggie options. You can find something. Staff was very friendly and attentive, but we were the only guest that early in the day. The crowd did pick up as we ate our meal. Large windows allowed you to sit and people watch on, what I would imagine is the Main Street for the town. It was Sunday so a little quiet so not a lot people watching today. Food was great and the presentation was a lot more than expected for a tavern. Full bar options and a good list of local craft beers. I love trying local beers when possible. A lot of space for seating during the day and I can only imagine the evening bar scene. Based on the number of people who did walk in while we were there to recover their credit card from the night before. Sounds weird but it totally gave off the local vibe. Love it. Very clean and tidy for a Tavern. Respectful place. Plenty of TVs to watch your favorite game so I enjoyed a chance to see one of the Sweet 16 games that day. So, if you are in town, give Town Tavern a visit.

I just wish the flavors were bold like the looks and descriptions. The summer shanty was a good beverage on a hot evening. The turkey tips were beautiful although with very little flavor. Today I gave it a try and felt that it was good in some areas and just ok in others. Overall the food tasted pretty healthy despite having pork belly and chorizo. The seasoning was definitely on the lighter side, where the french onion soup was tasting pretty close to an extremely light broth. Tried the cassoulet which I've heard of before but never seen on a menu. It was very hearty but also a but bland. Pulled pork and pork belly seemed to have zero salt. Duck leg confit also very bland. It was cooked well but just bland. The dishes with citrus were quite tasty. Beets and arugala salad very good, good quality goat cheese. Alligator chorizo grilled oysters surprisingly good. Never had alligator chorizo before but it was crispy and not fatty even though it resembled bacon visually. The oysters were small, even more small in comparison to the chorizo but it was a good bite. I would recommend skipping the clam chowder, french onion soup (not really caramelized onions to be honest), and the cassoulet unless you feel empowered to salt your own food. The clientele was definitely in the 60+ range. Nothing wrong with that obviously but tastes change with age and maybe thats why the seasoning was so light. Today there were just two wait staff for the whole place. Seemed understaffed and it took almost thirty minutes for food to come out. Waiting for the check took about fifteen minutes. Staff was nice but definitely overloaded. Today was a holiday though.

We had a reservation for a celebratory dinner, and I commented to ask if the special would still be on for that date. The chef/owner responded immediately that it would. Knowing specials often run out quickly, I called on the morning of the reservation, and a hostess said, yes, the special was still on. So we got there, we ordered, and we asked for the special -- the waitress said she'd confirm, and then came back and just said 'no, it was just for that day,' which was confusing. I explained that the chef and the hostess had confirmed that it was still on the menu and asked if it had run out -- again, understandable -- and she said it 'was just something we made for an influencer.' At that point, I didn't want to press the two 'no' answers, so we finished the dinner and moved on. I reached out privately after the fact as I wanted to see if there was a better way I could have communicated to the restaurant or asked for clarification, and asked if there was a better way to confirm information moving forward, and they never responded. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be back.
