Maeghan was so helpful with our recent event. Everyone enjoyed the food, and those with dietary restrictions especially appreciated it! Erica and Diego were so helpful, patient, and pleasant to work with. They took great pride in their work, and it showed. We would highly recommend them and use their services again! read more

This place is exactly what it says it is, simple fare at a great price. Really enjoy the variety and ease of ordering. I've used them twice for an office holiday party and both times everything went super smoothly. It's a great option to have in the neighborhood. read more

Loved this spot in West Medford. Most things made in-house and a very accommodating staff! Food was delicious also, i recommend the specialty egg rolls. They're so have odd hours so maybe call ahead. read more

Just ordered takeout from here as I'd never tried it before and I'm always up for trying a new spot. - Cranberry, walnut, and goat cheese salad, ordered with chicken salad on top - very decent; a good, yummy option for healthier eating (probably?) - Mac & cheese bites - a little dry and bland. A solid 3/5. Could have used a good dipping sauce featuring goat cheese... - Steak & cheese, ordered with onions and roasted peppers - this meat omg... the roll was a little dry but overall I was not complaining because this was the best steak in a steak and cheese sub possibly ever. Some of the meat was a little too chewy, but again, overall not complaining. Would I have liked it to contain more cheese? Yes. Was that an option when I ordered? No. Overall, would reorder everything except the bites-- would prob spring for the steak & cheese rolls instead (get it? Spring? Rolls? NVM.) read more

The fish and chips was good. But the portion was small 2 small pieces. More chips than fish. The grilled salmon was good. Nice portion but there were hardly any vegetable on the plate. Rice was tasty. Pilgrim sandwich was a hit. The fries were really good. The homemade chips sucked. They tasted like they had been sitting around. Finally the steak tip bomb was meh... The tips were really rare kind of bland and some pieces were really chewy. I ordered using Ubereats because they had a buy $30 save $20. I might give this place another chance if I'm ever in the area, but I do t think I'd seek it out again for delivery. read more

Delicious Greek salad!! Nice to order ahead Very fresh. Good service They always have elevated homey food.

I ordered a spinach salad for lunch. Really fresch and abundant. The next day, my hubby ate the leftovers he found on the fridge and loved it. I will be back. read more

Ordered a Greek Salad from here through Peach and had it delivered to my work and although it was pretty good, they should of called this a side salad. It was basically three pieces of lettuce and some small tiny bits of chicken and barely any quinoa and lots of onions. It was done in maybe 4 bites and it cost $12 bucks?? I would hesitate to order from this place again otherwise you will be left starving for more. read more

I picked up some take out here on a friday night around 6:30. They close at 8 and by the time I had called they were out of 3 things I wanted. First they didn't have any sauce left for the Engine 2 sandwich, so I asked for a reuben instead. Then they called and said they didn't have the reuben, so I asked for the pulled pork sandwich. When I picked up the food they had given me a reuben anyway. They were also out of french fries so we all went with chips instead. They were homemade and ended up being delicious. My roommate also ordered the salmon with seasonal veggies which we were told was eggplant, zucchini and peppers. When we got home we realized they have given us spinach instead. Although the food was delicious, I think it's best to go in the afternoon! read more

I walked in and asked for lunch recommendations. The owner was happy to help. Then I asked for a meatball to sample, because I'm Italian and I love meatballs, but no one ever makes them right. I was happily served a sample and the only thing I can say is that wow, if my mom's Sunday meatballs are a ten, this was a solid nine. I was blown away. This was maybe the best meatball I've ever bought. I was informed that meatball sandwiches come with either fresh fries or fresh potato chips. I made a face for about five seconds at this choice and didn't even have to suggest a salad substitution - it was happily offered before I even opened my mouth. Ooh, the salad was beautifully fresh, and dressing was homemade, just like mom's. Amazing food, amazing service, standard deli prices. Five stars, no questions. I would eat here every single day if I worked nearby. read more

Simple fare is indeed simple but good. Their potato chips are to die for, but the french fries are a little less greasy options. The greasy potato chips still win. I had and recommend: Caprese Panini (no meat!) or the Reuben. So tasty! And - quite importantly - not a NYC diner - meaning that the Simple Fare service is really friendly. read more

I always hate getting take out as it is always the same options, Chinese food, pizza or regular deli sandwiches! Then there is Simple Fare! They are bringing take out to a whole new level. You have the option of the sandwiches if you want, but you can also get nice made to order high end meals! The eggplant parm is great, not to much breading, served over pasta and enough for 2 meals! I order the daily special for lunch last week, called ahead then went and picked it up and it was ready to go, where else could you get made to order pistachio encrusted salmon served over citrus risotto and served with asparagus as a take out lunch? They are really bringing take out to a whole new level! read more

Amazing food!!! Had the Greek salad and Italian sub and was blown away! Definitely will be back

My wife and I went here for lunch. It's a small place but lots of choices. I got chicken salad sandwich and my wife got the BLT. The bread on both our sandwiches fell apart and was saggy. The guy who took our order was higher than a kite and messed up our simple orders. We won't be eating there again. read more

Not only is their food incredible and made fresh in-house but so is the owner and staff. Last year, instead of sitting back and doing very little, the owner/Chef decided to use the food to feed hospital workers as far north and south from Medford as they could go and also our first responders. Staff were able to still come into work, just some shorter hours. A small local business that took care of hundreds and hundreds of people. People that will probably never come to Medford for a meal but even knowing this Simple Fare opened their hearts and pockets to help. Much like a lot of small businesses that can not afford to spend millions of dollars for TV ads to pat themselves on the back and were able to easily stay afloat during the crisis. Simple Fare and all the other local small businesses will keep getting my business. Thank you for your kindness. As for the food, you will have a hard time picking a favorite. All their menu items are cooked to perfection. read more

Food is amazing and the customer service is suburb. I highly recommend, my family loves getting food from here !

Had a housewarming party catered by Simple Fare (sandwiches, cheese/meat platters, macaroni and cheese) and everything was of the highest quality and taste. My guests were so happy they went for seconds and I had nothing left. Definitely will use Simple Fare again read more

We wanted to send a fresh, healthy meal to our friends in Framingham but being out of state we had to depend upon an internet search and reviews. I am so glad we found Simple Fare! Although they were closed for the Holiday weekend, Mike was so quick and responsive to my order request. We were able to do everything over e-mail - even payment - and the results were very happy friends. We ordered them the Mediterranean lunch plate for 10 and a small fruit and yogurt platter. They have severe gluten allergies and Mike made sure everything was labeled - and accommodated a substitution from the set menu. Our friends said that it was the first time in six weeks that they felt like they got fresh, healthy, delicious food. Thanks, Mike! read more

Since I had to work Thanksgiving this year and we are keeping our circle small I decided to order their dinner that included everything and it was fabulous. I enjoyed it very much here! My mother and I were first time customers and we both ordered sandwiches (I got the "Engine 2" but I added provolone cheese & prosciutto, and mom got the "West Medford station"). Chicken was crispy and juicy, French baguette was fresh, the prosciutto was perfect & imported. And these homemade potato chips they have....OH MY GOD they were amaaaazing! I plan on bringing a trash bag in and having them fill it up! Lol. The owner (I think he was) who took care of us was attentive, quick, funny, warm and welcoming, and I will be coming back!! Oh and they have the coolest food & cooking related antiques on display and I SO love that. It really fits in with the historic Medford charm :). Thanks guys!! read more

We're not big eaters, liked the menu and happy to pay for good food. W. Medford is new to us but was excited to try their food. Our food tasted pretty good but the portions were much smaller than we would put up with. Too bad, all they needed was maybe a small side dish to give the platters we ordered a little boost. The tiramisus were so sweet, we threw them all out. read more

Read the reviews from others and just had to try it out. The owners and staff (even John) are extremely friendly, helpful, and simply nice! Ordered a Greek salad and the Bourbon Chicken for take-out. The salad was fresh and crispy with a homemade dressing, Delicious! The Bourbon Chicken is AMAZING, great balance of flavors with homemade mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach! This place is well worth eating from, trust me because I travel constantly around the globe. Excellent scratch made food with a smile! A MUST TRY!!!! DELICIOUS!!!!! read more

Simple Fare - The Cuban sandwich is excellent! - Delis Near Me - Medford, Massachusetts

I have been eating at Simple Fare for several years now. Their compact deli turns out some of the most amazing sandwiches I have ever had . While I live in Newton and it's not super close to West Medford I make sure to head over there when I am driving in their general direction. I usually have some type of chicken sandwich because they use REAL fresh meat and they make it very generous . Whether it's a classic chicken parm or a balsamic version it's always great. Couple that with a good size handful of house made potato chips (beyond addictive) and it's a winning combination. Last time I was in though I thought I would veer from my beloved usual selections and venture out and try their Italian sandwich offering. WOW was it amazing ! Fabulous roll filled with the freshest array of cold cut meats I've ever had. The meats were sliced right in front of me just for my sandwich, could not have been fresher. I have never experienced anything like that. At Simple Fare it seems like they really care about the food they make. No rush to get you out of their place, the inviting staff is friendly and genuinely happy to serve you. They also take such pride in their food and want to please their clientele so they keep returning. You can't beat the quality of their food and service at any price and their pricing is super reasonable. I highly recommend a visit to Simple Fare. I can say for sure it won't be your last. Maybe I ordered badly, I do want to support local. But the Eggplant parm was inedible. Stringy, salty, burnt, plus the pasta had no sauce--surprised since they advertised homemade sauce. Disappointed. read more

Sent moldy bread. How can you trust the rest of the meal when a kitchen confidently sends out rotten food???

My hairdresser is located very close to Simple Fare so I know every 5 weeks, not only am I getting a cut and color, I'm getting take out from Simple Fare! Their menu has lots of choices including hot and cold sandwiches, salads, hot entrees, soups and kids meals, (the chips they add as a side choice are house made and very good)! I have also ordered trays from them for larger gatherings at my home and their staff was very good working with me to get a menu that was varied enough so there was something for everyone. The portion are decent sized too. I have yet to have a bad meal there and I've a large selection of their menu. And they used to close by 2:00 p.m., they are now open until 7:00!!! Definitely worth a trip! read more

I know nothing about German food, but I was in the mood for something both new and savory. So, I decided to give this place a try, ordering solely by the pictures posted. Best decision ever! A real gem of West Medford, Simple Fare Delicatessen is a quality sandwich shop. I got a Turkey Cheddar Bacon Panini, and subbed in Chipotle mayo for the regular mayo at the cashier's recommendation - an excellent one at that. An excellent lunch! I ordered the buffalo chicken salad sandwich on a spinach wrap. It didn't need any additional condiments...strong buffalo and bleu cheese flavors blended together in to a creamy consistency with nice, large chunks of chicken. The lettuce and tomato were super fresh as well. I also had a side of the homemade potato chips were A++. Satisfying in both the flavors and simplicity. read more

I look forward to returning to this spot soon. We ordered two braised short ribs and they were literally falling off the bone. The to go dish was packed to the brim with veggies and hiding underneath it all were delicious mashed potatos. This dish is not expensive for what it is, but certainly not as inexpensive as a sandwich, yet if you tried to order this dish elsewhere you would definitely pay $5-10 more at minimum. So, it's a bargain as far as I'm concerned! I'm looking forward to trying their sandwiches and potato chips soon! To top it off, they have super friendly service which is great. read more

What a gem!! Every neighborhood should have this place to enjoy!! Grrrreat food!!! Great staff. You MUST go !! Yuuummmm!!

Sick of the usual Foodler order of pizza, chinese, and mediocre subs, I stopped in here to try a sandwich. I was pleasantly surprised by the Engine 2, which has chicken cutlet soaked in a sweet and tangy sauce, hot peppers, and lettuce & tomato. Got it on ciabatta, and comes with fries or homemade chips. It was sweet, savory, very spicy (from the jalapenos), and had a nice mixtures of textures. Great portion size, not too small to make you wonder why you paid $9 for a sandwich, and not too large that you're leaving a bunch behind or feeling disgusted by what you just ate. I'm really happy I found a new place to grab a relatively quick lunch! Takes about 5 mins to get take-out. They do have two 4-seater tables, and a couple stools for a high counter, but it's overall a pretty small place. read more

Great customer service and the pulled pork sandwich with their homemade barbecue sauce and pickles was delicious! I'll be going back.
