Ordered food at 12:00 for a 2:00 delivery. It's now 2:43 and I still don't have it. I called and was told that delivery takes 45 minutes. I said that I ordered at noon. I was told "we got slammed." So apparently it takes more than 45 minutes if they get slammed. Why give the option to schedule a delivery time if you can't handle it? I am about to go into a meeting, so I can't eat the food when it arrives. In fact, I will have to leave the meeting to receive the order, AND I'll have to reheat it later instead of eating it fresh. I want to be specific, Ronny's food is amazing. A+. 5 Stars. We had been ordering from them through GrubHub, and they have been down for a few days because their printer is broken. Okay, fine. We called, placed an order, it arrived, delicious as usual, and we moved on. Today my girlfriend called and were informed that we were out of their range for deliver. We are 1.6 miles away. I've walked there in warm weather. I called back and they finally relented that we weren't out of range, they were just really busy and it was going to be 1.5 hours for delivery. 1) Don't lie. Just tell me you're busy, let me decide. 2) Even if you're really busy, I don't believe the 1.5 hours. Grubhub tells me an hour fifteen all the time, you're often here in 20 minutes. 3) Be polite. The woman who spoke to me on the phone was rude, condescending, and when I questioned her obvious lie, she didn't even apologize. 4) If your printer is down, and you aren't taking orders from Grubhub, I hesitate to believe you're really busy either. This is pretty embarrassing and sad. I assume something else is up. Maybe the driver is mad because we didn't tip him enough ($3-4 for a 6 minute drive) and told them not to serve us well? I honestly don't know. If they have a problem and don't want our business, I'd rather be told that then have someone lie to me and be rude to me over the phone. Honestly, I'm disappointed. Their food is great, and we'd been ordering from them once or twice a week since we found them. I guess it's back to looking for a better option in town and giving my dollar to a business that wants it. I placed an order for pickup and the person on the phone seemed confused, so I repeated what I wanted twice. I was charged 28 dollars. My son went to pick up the order and all they gave him was a small calzone. I had also ordered a chicken finger combo which is supposed to come with fries and onion rings and the bacon and cheese fries. I have placed a lot of orders at this place and I even have tried to ignore the lack of costumer service on the phone. This time is no different. I called back to let them know what happened at first the female who likes to cut you off when you are talking was a little hesitant but I guess she checked and came back to the phone asking that my son go back. I repeated what was missing and again in that dismissive tone she said it's all set. When my son got home all I got was like three tiny strips of chicken fries and another bag of fries. I have to go to work tonight because I am a First Responder and had to deal with this crap. They may or may not read these reviews, but I know that they are not the last Coca Cola in the desert. I dont usually write reviews but tbh im having a terrible day and all I wanted was a pizza to cure the blues. Looks like it wont be from ronnys nor will it be ever again. I would like to say that my Family and I have been ordering from ronny's for over 30 years. My mother worked for ronny a very long time ago. My father even went to school with the owner. I have the outmost respect for ronny. At least I did until recently, now i see him as nothing but a cold, egotistical greedy man who cares nothing about his customers and has no value for anyone aside from his money. Here is my experience; I had ordered a single large pizza a week ago. I ordered around 8:30pm and was told to arrive in 30 minutes to pick up my pizza. I had forgotten that they close at 9pm, not 10:00 like most restaurants in the area. When i arrived I saw they were closed (it was 9:08 when I checked my phone). Not a big problem. I had paid card over the phone and as a person who is known for bringing business there regularly, most would at least give a store credit. It was priced higher than most pizza places but i valued the business and like to support the local mom and pop places. I had been calling the store every couple of days when my family would normally order pizza, asking for the store credit. Every time i called I was given excuses. Nobody was willing to help. Not even a manager was able to help. I was told to call when ronny was in and nobody knew when that would be so "just keep trying". After 4 calls on different days ronny finally talked to me. I was respectful but then he gave me an attitude saying he knows "exactly who you are, youre the guy who shows up an hour late for your pizza" and he was absolutely unwilling to help. Then he hungup on my face. I now have to go through the long process of disputing with my bank who will take the money back from the business anyway. Mistakes happen and when you own a small business in a great community such as ours, you should be courteous to your customers. We have now been getting out pizza from another restaurant close by and its even better. It also nice not to call in and get rushed off the phone like I'm inconveniencing them for even ordering. Thats the type of service you find here, rushed in and out the door at outrageous prices, pizza with a strong scent of dirty dish water and not a single deal to be found. I hope the night crew enjoyed my family's pizza that we purchased for them. They must be hungry working for such a cheap guy. I've been a pizza cook myself and have the utmost respect for all in food service. One tip from my personal experience: customer service has a value higher than even the quality of food you serve. Speaking of portions, this coma was induced by giant floppy slices of delicious pizza, heavy with mozzarella and a sauce that is just sweet enough to not be tangy without being "sweet". Recently moved to the area looking for a go-to sub shop. Conveniently enough I found Ronny's which is a 5 minute walk from my place. I have been 5+ times so I think I have a good idea of the food thus far. Their pizza is pretty good, but they seem to pound the dough really thin which I'm not the biggest fan of, but that's just my opinion. However, I must compliment them on their subs - solid portion size and they're all very delicious, especially the chicken parm and meatball. I've also ordered mozzarella sticks and the mac-n-cheese squares which I found quite delicious. One thing I would recommend is improving the customer service. Every time I call I feel like the person on the other end is trying to get off the phone, and when I go in they don't seem any happier. Also, their side dressings are pretty minimal, and I always have to ask for an extra which they like to charge. Overall, I recommend the food, but of course there are always areas of improvement. read more
