The surfaces of the bread don't get much browning and the beef was less beefy and less seasoned than I remember from a few years back. Although these never blow me away, they're a nice little novelty that's always worth a taste. -- Patty Melt: The full size format offers a third of a pound of beef (looked thicker) between larger slices of the same type of bread. Not much outer texture or browning, but the interior was moist. Minimal beef flavor, with butter again on overdrive-- much too much of it-- but this time mitigated by the complementary flavors (according to the menu, roasted chili & bacon sauce, tomato, iceberg, blue cheese & avocado aioli). Still enjoyable, though the lack of browning (on bread and beef) and the veering of the ingredients from traditional (no caramelized onion, no rye) kept it from scratching that patty melt itch.
