Had to get work done on my car. Found Lou's on Google. Read the reviews, called, went in and let them look at my car. They put my car on the lift and showed me the problem. Told me exactly what I needed whete to get it and how much it would cost. Everything was explained to me, and i left with a good feeling. I went to the dealer to buy the parts and was told by the dealer my car had bigger issues than I was told. The dealer told me that my exhaust pipe and Catalitic converter was rusted and would fall apart. They quoted a price to have everything repaired and it was $$$$$ over what Lou's quoted. I went back to Lou's and told them what the dealer told me. They laughed and told me exhsust pipes on Toyotas are stainless steel so they don't rust. They also replaced my catalytic converter and my car is running like new. Great repairs, friendly service, and positive vibes. Lous exhaust will definately see me again and I'm referring folks to them. read more

Costumer service is good but the parts are bad. They give a 1 year warranty on almost everything but you better believe you'll be needing the exact same work done again within that year or directly after. Their flex pipes only last 1 year then they rust out. This place is only good for a quick temporary fix until you go to a real shop. read more

i had a muffler repair done today (6/4/24) at the Boston (Atherton St) location. I gave the mechanic two gaskets. He only needed one but they were two different sizes. When my repair was done he lied and said I never gave him two. He then argued with me and got belligerent after lying about the gasket.That mechanic is a thief and I will never return. read more

His name is Frank and if you want it done right you gotta go here! He knows his stuff! So far he's done a brake job and muffler system on my vehicle, and helped my mom out with a tailpipe issue on her vehicle. Beautiful job every single time! Just went back this past Friday for what I thought was brake pads needed, but Frank found that it was not the case and had me fixed up and on my way in less than an hour! I thought this was going to work out well for me when it was recommended by my mechanic except it wasn't. How disappointing to think you will get repairs done to then not have them even last a year. It was annoying to not be able to find the receipt because of course they don't have any technology so they can keep track of things properly. I ended up having to get more repairs done on my exhaust pipe & went to a different location (which no longer exists) to see if it would be better. What a mistake, the same thing happened that the work didn't even last a year. AGAIN. I even called them & they couldn't do anything until I found the receipt. Months went by & I finally did find the original receipt & when I contacted them they basically said no, they weren't going to honor a damn thing. The person I spoke to was no longer there so I basically was out several hundred dollars for no damn reason. Great customer service. They suck, don't bother, and total waste of time, money & energy. read more

Twice, now, I have had an amazing experience at this place. After a failed inspection in July he showed me where some nuts had come off. He replaced them and charged me $10. Today he showed me where some pipe and connections had rusted away. He finished the job in less than 20 minutes. The beauty is that he works super efficiently. Car goes on the lift just once. Update 8/25/2014 they replaced my muffler about a week ago under warranty and welded a crack in my manifold. KEEP YOUR RECEIPT! By finding my receipt I saved $140. Brought my truck there and they said it would be done the next day, they said they would call me in an hour to give me a quote....NOPE! These guys have twice been enormously helpful to me at obscenely low prices. Most shops won't even touch your car for less than $200. I've gotten exhaust repairs done here twice. Once cost me $80 and the other (today) cost $140. Three guys jumped into action and got it done in about half an hour. They give you options, tell you the cost, and follow through. I agree with a previous review. This place is a joke - not only did they replace my double tail pipe muffler with a single pipe muffler - they use cheap materials - no quality materials here and I tell you in less than two years, the cheap muffler they put on's rusted out and had a huge hole which I had replaced at another shop with the correct muffler for my car and when I spoke to the joker at Lou's exhaust, he told me it wasn't the wrong muffler because his muffler is universal and the other mechanics were lying to me. Yeah, universal if your car had only one tail pipe, you can replace it with one pipe, not if it had two pipes. This place is a rip-off. They lie and con people. To all the people who think this place is so great, just wait and see how long your muffler job will last! read more
