I attempted to go here during the summer without reservations. The place was empty but we were turned away. Did not like the way the hostess spoke or acted towards us. Still decided to give it a chance. Went during the fall and we felt rushed by the staff to get us in and out. I got the specialty fish and I cannot remember the sauce used but it was sweet which did not go with the fish. The filet wasn't bad but not for the price. We spent $232 before tip. I hope it was just a bad day for the restaurant.

Classy place in downtown Springfield, about as classy as you can get. If you're around here that is. Loukinen's On 4th also lets you know what street it's on. A lot of fancy food for around here. The prices really aren't that bad considering the good quality. About the most expensive things are drinks. It's about $12 or more for a cocktail, which isn't surprising because of course this is a pretty classy place. This time we opted for some cheap beers, or the cheapest they had last time. It doesn't have a whole lot for vegans, but they have an Impossible Burger. It's about $14, which isn't that bad for this kind of place. This comes with a side, and we each got a salad. For a salad, it was pretty impressive looking. The Impossible Burgers were cooked without becoming hard as a rock, as these can be sometimes. Good place for fancy drinks and food. It's not that bad of a price for the portions and quality. There's plenty of things for both meat eaters and vegetarians.

If you're looking for a nice dinner in downtown Springfield this is your spot. We were so pleased with the decor, the service and the food. The food was absolutely amazing!!!!

Dynamite menu selection with choices in many proteins.... Beef, pork, chicken, lamb, fish, crustacean etc. The dishes are always thoughtfully constructed with pairing that are balanced and make perfect sense. Terrific wine selection, a few craft beers and the service is top shelf. Chef Loukinen typically will come follow up with each table to inquire of the quality of his delicious creations. The best restaurant in Springfield, by an absolute mile in my opinion.

Three Cheese French Onion Soup

What a wonderful place with some amazing food. We were on our way to Zach William's concert and just happened upon this restaurant. We did not have reservations and it was a Friday night at 6 pm, but we were able to be seated right away. The Manchurian Style Cauliflower was delicious. It practically melted in your mouth. I seriously could have had this as my main course and would have been satisfied. I then ordered the Three Cheese French Onion soup for my main meal and I didn't go wrong. This truly hit the spot and wasn't too heavy. The flavor was spot on. My 2 friends also enjoyed their meals as they had gotten the Bacon, Brown Sugar Bourbon Glaze Burger and the Spiced Shaved Prime Rib Sandwich. They were both pleased with the appetizer as they were their sandwiches. The restaurant was nicely decorated. Seating was not too close and we were able to carry on a conversation with out having to speak loudly. Our server was very personable and knew the menu well. She kept our drinks full. We were able to visit with the Chef and he gave some insight to the cauliflower appetizer. While there we also witnessed the Chef cleaning some of the tables. We were very pleased with our choice for dinner. Price was very reasonable considering how we all loved our meal choices. Would definitely recommend and return!!!

It is true to the description, casual upscale dining. I got the Loukinens Punch for a drink and it tasted just like juice and still had me a little tipsy. I forgot the name of the meal but I had gotten the special and it tasted amazing and was so filling. The restaurant really specializes in seafood. The service was very kind and even the chef made it a point to come out and check on everyone

The interior of this space oddly made me feel like I was walking into a commercial office space. Although the menu wasn't very extensive or unique, the food was decent and well plated. The chef routinely came out to greet guests which was a nice touch! I travel for a living and have seen it all, I am just being honest. For a small town, it probably is a very nice spot for locals. However, if I were in Springfield again, I would probably look for a different restaurant if I wanted a finer dining experience.

Chef's Soup of the Day

I completely forgot about doing this review (visited in November '21) and this meal was actually one of my top three of last year. I was with my wife and another couple right before Thanksgiving and the autumnal specials were in full swing. The vegetable and rice soup I had was amazing but the pan seared sea bass was to die for. To find a restaurant in Springfield that can actually pull off Risotto is amazing to me - highlight of the night for this die hard Chef Ramsay fan! The ambiance was clean and professional, bathrooms were immaculate and our server was wonderful. A tad pricey but you can easily forget about the cost when you have an all around spectacular evening over food and drinks with friends!

My friends and I each ordered a chef's special a couple weekends ago which featured in a bell pepper risotto, cauliflower, lamb lollipop's, and a filet. Everything was delectable and the steak cut like butter. It's worth every penny. Our server was very friendly, knowledgeable, professional and he gave us great recommendations. The GM or owner came by a few times to tell us about the special prickly pear tequila made with the margarita I ordered. Then she offered to take a picture of our group because she noticed we were struggling. The hospitality did not go unnoticed. The atmosphere was so inviting and I can't wait to go back.

Quaint little place in downtown. Beautiful decor and good service. Their crab cake bites were delicious. Good crab burger. Chicken dish failed to impress. Overall cute cozy place for dinner!

Having previously visited the Peoria location, I was looking forward to a similarly enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, this visit fell short of my expectations. I started with the buffalo cauliflower bites, and they were easily the highlight of my meal! They were absolutely delicious and honestly the one thing I truly enjoyed during my visit. Unfortunately, things went downhill with my entrée. I ordered the salmon, and to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. The taste and texture were incredibly off-putting, almost as though I wasn't eating real salmon. It simply didn't taste right, and I couldn't enjoy it. What made the experience even more frustrating was the lack of attentive service. My server never returned to check on my meal or ask how everything was going. By the time they came back, it was only to offer me the check and a to-go container. I didn't even have an opportunity to express my disappointment with the salmon or give the restaurant a chance to address the issue. The ambiance also didn't quite measure up to what I remembered from the Peoria location, which I found much more enjoyable. Overall, the buffalo cauliflower bites were a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing dinner. Between the unpleasant entrée, inattentive service, and underwhelming atmosphere, I can't say I'd be eager to return to this location. Hopefully, my experience was an exception rather than the norm.

SO glad I walked for a mile in the blistering heat to come here…read more I am staying at the super 8, and it was on the hotel recommendation list. I wanted to watch the Michigan wolverines game so I called down there and spoke to a really nice woman, who ended up being my bartender when I got there. I was originally going to go to four stars, but they are getting five because the bartender told me that they would change the channel for me at whatever TV I was sitting at so I could watch my game! I sat at the bar naturally after being greeted by the really nice hostess. Now generally I despise this state outside of rural areas because the people here are just menacingly rude and judgmental. That being said, walking to the bar, all of the afternoon patrons in there were casting looks at me that could tame a rabid polar bear. Already dealing with that in other parts throughout the state, I just sat there and smiled as they stared and judged. Anyhow, my first bartender, I never caught her name, but she was excellent! Took really good care of me. Shift change in the middle of my visit, and my second bartender was jennifer, she was equally as delightful! I ordered fried okra for an appetizer when I got there, drank some beers, had a couple VERY well proportioned glasses of whiskey and watched my game. Come suppertime, I turned around to see the crowd and the entire restaurant was completely packed! And the personalities of the people that I interacted with at this point were a complete 180. SUPER nice people. For supper I ordered the ribeye, rare. I first cut into it and it looked medium, but sometimes steak just Cooks quicker in certain areas, but outside of the end piece that was cooked perfectly. I had a loaded baked potato which was seasoned great, and green beans and I had blackberry cobbler for dessert, per the recommendation of my bartender. Right through the doors, they have gaming, and a few slot machines also, if that's your thing. I really enjoyed the decorum, and the place was really clean, even the bathrooms. It's not very often that I would return to a restaurant in the state, but this is definitely worth revisiting if I'm ever back in the area! ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149. I was looking for something with beans and originally ordered the breakfast huarache, mistakenly assuming it was a burrito. I prefer flour tortillas over corn, which started a whole conversation about how the dish is prepared. First, our waiter went to the kitchen to check on modifications, then a second waiter kindly came over to explain the traditional preparation, and finally, the chef himself came out to help! He explained that a huarache is open-faced, not a burrito, but immediately offered a perfect solution: he could custom-make their breakfast burrito using pinto beans as the protein for me instead. When the chef brought it out, it was HUGE. He took the time to explain exactly how he made it and told me to just ask for him or request the modification next time. Not only was the service incredibly attentive, but the burrito was easily the best I've ever had. It's 9 hours later and I am still full from eating just half of it!
