I hit up Louie's Corned Beef for breakfast a lot and the service is seriously fast. Like sit down and your coffee's already there kind of fast. Weekday specials are great and filling, and the staff is super friendly. They actually remember you and your order, which I love. Classic diner vibe, plus all the random pig statues everywhere lol. Recently I have had their food twice in 2 weeks. First I Ordered carryout . The chili cheese fries (not pictured ) were yum - the portions were huge. The corned beef sandwiches were good but I like my homemade ones better because I like a lot of sauerkraut and lots of sauce. I thought the Russian sandwich was too sweet because if the coleslaw. However they were piled THICK with meat. You could Definitely split a sandwich or have two meals out of it. Weird that the Reuben doesn't come with 1,000 island dressing but I ordered it on the side. I also got their ranch which was homemade and deeeelish. I was quoted 5 mins for The pickup time but I requested it be ready for 30- 40 minutes later and they had no problem fulfilling that and the food was hot and fresh ( thanks good job) Then Sunday morning I dined in for breakfast at like 8am and I was happily surprised they were open because everything is closed in the Clem (kudos) I got a club omelette and added feta cheese ( $2 upcharge!) the rye bread was good kinda like a sourdough . Stopped in Saturday for breakfast. Ordered the eggs Benedict. This is my favorite breakfast. I'm never disappointed when I order it here. The eggs are poached perfectly nice runny yellow. The Canadian bacon is fantastic and the English muffin nice and fluffy. I ordered the hash browns I like mine crispy and they were excellent not greasy at all. The service was great. Tiny little spot with giant portions! From all the hellos I heard inside, it's definitely a spot all the locals visit quite often. I did a carryout; my advice would be if you get carryout, ask for sauce on the side. They definitely do not skimp on portions, you will get a giant sandwich and you will be full. The sandwich was delicious, the meat was really good. I'm not a huge fan of the coleslaw, it was far too sweet. That was the only drawback. Otherwise, it's an amazing meal. I'm gonna try a Russian sandwich next time with the sauerkraut and see how that goes. It's a wonderful little spot and they do drive through as well if I'm not mistaken. If you're looking for a quick, delicious breakfast, this is the place to go. I ordered lemon rice soup, the croissant breakfast sandwich and hash-browns and all were out in less than 10 minutes. I was shocked as it was a busy Sunday morning. The service was friendly and prompt. As always this place is so yummy!! Went today after noon and it was easy to find a seat. Our waitress was so very pleasant and the food was delivered very fast. I love how they shave their corned beef so it's always tender. That sandwich was piled high!! My hubby loves that they use a thick slice of ham on the club. He took half home and I planned on it but dropped the larger half onto the floor. Yes I started crying lol I love their sandwich. No fear they were so kind and made me another half to take home. What a great local restaurant! Stopped by Louie's for a quick lunch with my brother. Greeted by a friendly staff, we were quickly seated and welcomed as if we'd been going there for years. I enjoyed the Russian Ruben, pictured below and my brother got a patty melt. Both were fantastic! The corned beef was lean, and piled high. Stopped in around 10:15 am to order a sandwich to bring to work later. I waited at the cash register for someone to take my order and was ignored. There were three waitresses standing in front of me talking to each other, one was busy sorting through receipts but the other two kept talking, would not look at me, as if they were trying to avoid eye contact so they wouldn't have to acknowledge a customer. The place was not busy, less than handful of customers. They weren't hustling to serve so they clearly they had some time to serve a new customer in front of them. A person they knew walked in behind me, they greeted him immediately, called him by his name and proceeded to seat him at a table. I was shocked at the blatant ignorance given the entrance is so small and it's not like they missed me by accident. I have never been to this restaurant before and was willing to give it a try, support locally. This was an obvious disregard and avoidance of a customer by a couple of waitresses who either didn't want to do their job and or acknowledge me as a customer. For a place that charges almost $20 dollars for sandwiches during an inflationary economy, one would think there would at least be a willingness to serve a paying customer. read more

Outrageously overpriced. $20 for a club sandwich is insane. Go to John's family grill on Cass instead. It's more affordable and about the same quality. This place is great! They have the best burgers and the best chicken tenders in the mt.Clemons area. Their service is great after 1 or 2 visits they treat my mom, sister and I like they known us for years. The inside is great, full of fake pig statues but not in a weird way. WOW! The service was QUICK and friendly. The servers were at least mid-life, but they were pros. They knew how to turn and burn. Place seats about 30. Clean and decorated with many pork themed figurines and tchotchkes. Relieved they offer everything on the menu anytime. So, we enjoyed the Cinnamon Raisin French Toast and Taco Salad. Portions were satisfying. You can tell this an institution in Mt. Clemens because they seemed to know everyone's name that walked through their doors (and we were obviously new). Clean, stocked lavatory. We winced when we were assaulted with CNN blaring from the plasma TVs, sadly. (It would have been tolerable if they had sports or something less annoying.) I'm not one to normally leave a review however, in this instance,, I felt compelled to do so. I live in Mount Clemens and I have dined at this location multiple times for several years now. Today, I arrived to the restaurant around 3:15 PM. I realize that they close at 4:00pm, I get that, and I also get that people want to go home. I wasn't planning on camping out. I was going to eat and get out of there. By 3:30pm, I was the only customer dining in the restaurant. Around 3:40pm, they literally turned off the lights while I was eating and the waitress comes to my table and says she needs to cash me out so she can close down the register. Now, I can understand shutting off the lights if I was hanging out after 4 PM. I can even understand coming to my table and asking to cash me out. With all that being said, it was just plain rude and disrespectful to be treated the way that I was treated today. The sad thing is, I like this restaurant. They typically have good food but today's experience left such a rotten taste in my mouth that I will not be going back. So Louie's, in the future, maybe have a little more respect for a paying customer. read more

So I went there twice in the span of a week. Nuff said? Corned Beef Sammy is large and excellent. The Ham Sammy is ridiculous. Three slices of ham-all about a quarter inch think. Both sammichs have excellent bread which is key. The restaurant doesn't look anything special on the outside but is really very nice on the inside. The wait staff work as a team to great affect. You won't wait long for anything, even the food comes out fast. In my two visits I have also tried the chili, above average, and the beef barley soup-incredible. I should note, I ordered a cup and it is a very large "cup." Don't know what the bowl looks like but I assume that would be a meal in its self. read more

The sweet n salty combo rocks my world & they are oh, so generous with the fresh, juicy blueberries. Their mushroom swiss burger, however, is a Major Fail. Listen, Louie's chefs. Seriously, listen. I'm going to school you. A mushroom swiss burger is NOT served with lettuce & tomato. You need to sauté those onions up good then toss the shrooms in with them. (They used fresh mushrooms but they were raw). Slap the swiss onto a hot juicy burger so it gets all fuckin deliciously melty then scoop the onion/shroom blend on top of that. Some people like it with a garlic sauce like an aioli. You should offer it but leave it optional. Right this wrong & I'll give you a star back. read more

So I stopped at this little joint the other day for lunch. I ordered a Reuben sandwich and a side of fries. Total was $11.66, which is so-so for the amount and quality. The food was hot and fresh which was one of the biggest pluses. The pastrami was tasty but sadly the bread got rather soggy after a while. You really didn't taste the sauerkraut and the dressing was given on the side with some pickles(also very greasy). The atmosphere was okay but slightly awkward. There a lot of pig figurines all around. The service was polite but not very warm. It appeared clean but for some reason it didn't feel clean. Overall I might come back but probably not.
