From the time I ordered to when I picked up my food, the staff was amazing! I ordered sliders (18) and cottage fries, they were prepared exactly as I ordered and were the hit of the outing! My friend told me this place had great breakfast. I was excited to try it because I don't really have a breakfast spot yet. We were able to choose our own seat. Our waitress came and took our order and got us drinks. My friend wanted to try the lunch this time. She ordered mozarella sticks. I tried one and they were really cheesy. I loved them! They taste really good with ranch. She also got the tenders and it came with a lot of fries. I definitely want to try that next time. I ordered french toast with the bacon. The french toast was really good. It came with a cup of whipped butter too. The meal was super affordable. Im used to paying $10.99 just for the french toast alone without any meat. We ordered; mozzarella cheese sticks 4/10 Fried mushrooms 7/10 Texas burger 8/10 2 10 oz steaks with mashed potatoes and broccoli 1/10 Grilled cheese 8/10 And chicken strips. 5/10 33/60 5.5/10 Mozzarella sticks and mushrooms were fine. A little bland. The Texas burger was good. The two steaks had ZERO seasoning. Not even salt. Mashed potatoes tasted like baby jard mashed potatoes. No seasoning no butter no salt nothing. Broccoli wasn't fully cooked and no butter or salt. Grilled cheese for the baby was fine and the broccoli cheddar soup. And the chicken strips were fine. Quick service, great food, and a Coney Island/small town bar ambiance. FOOD IS FILLING. One burger and I couldn't even finish my fries. Compared to Wimpy burgers in Lexington, this is a close second. Been coming here for years. Just wanted a no fuss hamburger and this place delivers. Meat, tomato, raw onion, lettuce, mayo , ketchup, mustard on a bun , perfect. The burger was cooked the way I like it medium. I had crinkle fries which I enjoyed. They served Coke products which I like. The place in a old school diner. This one I'm only rating a 3 but could easily go 4 if a few things tweaked. Every time I come here I get the sliders and fries. Always good and sliders are just a tad more plump than most. Where normal sliders I could eat 3-4 these I can eat two. Tonight I decided to try fried chicken. Still looking for the place around here for chicken because KFC and Popeyes aren't it. Their chicken was really good. Breading was crisp. I had to add just a tad of salt to bring out some good flavor. I got the mashed potatoes and gravy with it. Don't waste your time. next time I'll get the fries. They are instant and they add too much water and they are swimming in gravy. The small salad you got was a decent size but one tomato slice and one slice of cucumber that my hubby ate. Dressings are typical store bought but I figured that much going in. I don't know if it makes me biased being brought here more than 20 years ago and just having some of the best conversations with my grandfather but these burgers and this atmosphere is so wholesome and makes me think of family. The food has been and still is great! I bring my kids here now and I can't wait for this tradition to continue. The 5x5 is simple but so tasty! The soups are delicious and their breakfast is always something I'd recommend to go out to with the family here. I called to order a fish and chip dinner. The waitress was very nice, so I thought! Anyways, she tells me that the fish is battered with a different kind of batter, therefore, the fish is browner then other places. I said that's ok, as long as it's still good. However, the fish was not brown but almost black! It was not because of batter, it was because either they had a dirty fryer, and instead of telling people, or cleaning it. They advertise a completely differently looking fish & chips on there menu. This looks nothing like it. They choose to make up a excuse for their laziness, still sell bad food! I can almost beat they wouldn't eat this food! So why still sell it to a customer! I have had many messed up orders, and just turned my head. I'm done with this place.
