Okay, so it's a coney island, but the burger was worse than from Checkers. It was dry and flavorless. I ended up having to take it home so that I could make it edible. The chili tasted canned. The coffee was burned. And the waitress up-sold an $11.00 burger and $4.00 cup of chili to almost $33.00! I got the double patty with fries expecting the meal deal, but she "upsold" it to just the burger, then added extra fries, an extra drink and extra for the chili, not as additional cost for getting chilli instead of soup, but for the full price as if I was just getting the chilli instead of with a meal deal. I asked for additional bacon, to which she said: "4 slices?" in a tone that suggested that that was the normal amount, when the check showed an extra cost per slice. Although she checked and I asked, both my water and coffee didn't get refilled. When she dropped the check a tip was included! I was dining by myself, not as a party of 5. When I asked why, she said because some people didn't tip. I'm not surprised, if you upsell everyone underhandedly like you did me. I mentioned this to some people that had eaten there. Five different people who had eaten there at different times all of the told me that similar things happened to them. Not only that, but, seemingly, it could be the same waitress, because everyone mentioned that their waitress was blond and had an accent. I am not a complainer. I worked restaurants for a long time. I know upselling is sometimes necessary, but there's the way when you mention it will be extra, why not treat yourself, or similar, so the customer knows, and then there is this, where you look for every way to increase the check. When I worked restaurants I had a lot of repeat customers, with this place I wouldn't be surprised if they are finding that there customer base is going down... and this is why. I am not a hater, I just hope that someone in management reads this and that it somehow helps them improve. You see, they are a one off small place and it's actions like this which can end up ruining a small business. And I really don't want that to happen. read more

Woooooooooooow. We have another contestant on "I can't even make toast. Right now I'm fasting in my diet but if my stomach hurts I order toast with my colleagues. Now I know my toast will be soggy due to the delivery but when all you order is Texas toast add extra butter, none on the side. One would think they can't possibly fucc that up right? Wrong!!!!! My toast was charred so it had the burnt toast taste no extra butter on the toast, and yes they threw some in the bag due to the fact they didn't want to do the job and add it themselves. If you stop by or order food from this Jack in the box ass restaurant make sure to go through your whole entire order it's almost for sure they fucced up something because shit, they "Can't even make toast!!!!!!" Oh yeah!!!!! Almost forgot they didn't put the cheese on my colleagues eggs either. Now I dont see it reflected on the receipt but we asked for it. You better off going to McDonald's. read more

I ordered 2 breakfast specials, with bacon. The waitress said she didn't hear me request the bacon. In the meantime, the credit card machine was broke. I thought about just going home, but being a person of integrity I went to the ATM where I incurred more fees, only to find out that my 2 breakfast specials for over $15 did not have ANY MEAT!! Noticed that Sunrise was on Grubhub and since I love online ordering I decided to give it a try and order take out for dinner one evening. Everything was great! Got the corned beef sandwich on rye and the corned beef was excellent. Very lean, no fat. Grilled chicken pita was stuff with the goods, and the chicken was very tasty and tender. Got a bowl of chili too and it was good too. Food was ready for pickup when Grubhub said so. Looking forward to ordering a some breakfast goods soon. read more

If you're gonna spend some money at a fast food chain getting a combo meal, why not treat yourself to something in the same price range and with a lot more largesse? Sunrise calls itself a Coney, but i'm not getting any dogs here. This place is known for great Breakfasts and even greater Sandwiches! I had a Corned Beef Reuben and I have to say I was surprised at how good this thing was. I mean I at it like it was the cure for cancer :) Too big for my face and very flavorful. Being surrounded by Martin's and Louie's I guess they have to be up on their game, and at fast food prices you really can't beat this place for lunch. I ordered chicken tenders from sunrise one morning on my way to work and they served me burnt tenders. I called the facility to inform them that I had received burnt tenders and they said for me to bring the tenders back for some new ones. I let them know that I'm working 16hrs and have no way of keeping the tenders til tomorrow. I'll never go back there again . The cook knew he had sent out burnt tenders. read more

Hey hey hey!!! 9 Mile and Van Dyke isn't exactly the place where most want to "see and be seen".. I get that. But you gotta eat right? And there are some little off the path gems in that area. This is one of them!! Small place, cozy and friendly. Also clean!! The food is LEGIT and you get so much food, it's not even fair to call it a lot, that cheapens the amount of food. Maybe an exorbant amount?? I had leftovers for 2 days ya'll.... Their omelets are so freaking amazing, and they do them RIGHT. They saute the veggies, which amazingly, a lot of places don't. SOOOO Good!! and their gyro meat is amazing!! I often scoff at meat that doesn't look like meat, but here I dive right in!! They give you about 4 whole potatoes worth of hashbrowns..and they do the brush-melted-butter-on-the-toast-thing that makes my inner 9 year-old fat kid squeal with joy!!!! When you are forced to get up early - so early you can't even get your free breakfast at your hotel - you are pretty much just seeking food - good bad or ugly and we were heading for ugly this morning - BK! However, just as the driver pulled into the BK parking lot, my eyes caught a glimpse of Coney and my mouth blurted it out quickly. The driver made a sudden turn and we found ourselves in the parking lot of one of the best breakfasts joints around! The place was amazingly clean, the staff were incredibly friendly and customer focused! Never missing a beat as we each decided to create our own breakfasts instead of picking something on the menu. I mean come on - we didn't have time to waste so we each started barking out our demands of eggs, and various meats and different kinds of toast and butter that for us and yes coffee too! Our orders might have sent a typical waitress to the streets, but this girl "Sara" remained calm cool collective and very cheerful. Our food was delivered fast, hot and full of flavor - and not one single mistake was made in our incredible order - simply amazing. Even the coffee tasted great! However, the price will leave you suspicious - how do they do all that and offer everything and such an incredible low price? I'm not sure - I really don't think I care, but this place is now on the must go to places for breakfast anytime I am back in town for another audit or meeting. I grew up in this side of town and then moved away and eventually started working at the WPL down the street. I'd get an hour lunch and walk down to Sunrise for some yummy food. This place is small and family owned. They've had their fair share of business problems but yet, they are still here. The food is good. Simple, like any other coney island food bu, thats what the appeal to a coney island is. The waitresses are all simply nice and attentive. Even the cooks are social and friendly. They make a good burger, and the chicken pita is always a win in my book. read more

O My Goodness, How in the City of all the things this city is known for some good most not so good. In a deceptively quaint corner restaurant, that you wouldn't expect to find some of the Best Food in the city. It's in here!!! Great and Friendly Service! Fully Staffed! Most importantly the food is of the freakin chain delicious. No really it's the kind of food and service you always expect to get when you go out to spend your hard earned money but are all to often are usually disappointed with the food service or both. Great place for food on the cheap side one complaint is the lack of caring about Covid,especially with Michigan cases rising again. i get if you're too scared to go out then don't and i'm not. These small businesses need customers but wear your mask correctly for the sake of others. you don't know if you have covid or whether you are asymptomatic and if you are around food it's a good idea to obey these health protocols. again a great place to eat. read more

I ask for Decaf they gave me regular which caused me palpitations, I asked for egg white and someone else at our table got a scrambled egg loaded w/yolks (unnecessary extra cholesterol) that came out of my eggs.
