I placed my order 20 minutes before I got there. I sat there for another 25 minutes, waiting for my food. One of the waitresses told me it was because the baked mozzarella on top was going to take a long time by the time I got my food this mozzarella on top does not look baked it just looked like it's melted. The food is bland and it was cold. How is it possible that my food was cold? But it took you an additional 25 minutes to get it to me when I walked in the door this was my first and last time ever going there, terrible restaurant never again. read more

I've been to the videos downtown in Eastern market and of course that is a total experience in itself. This videos I've always driven past and never really gave it a thought. However, we decided to give it a try, and the place is just as unpretentious as the one downtown with that older bar charm with a great brunch attitude. Lots of TVs to watch sports, a great bloody Mary menu, and the breakfast pizza was outstanding. I would go back again just for that. read more

I have not done a review of Vivio's in a while. It is a good place to eat and their bloody Mary's are amazing. But, why did you get rid of your regular hamburger? I've gotten a smash burger twice, and I've not been happy. It's a dry and tasteless. Others may like it, that's their prerogative. I'm glad that there are other things on the menu that I do like. So, I have to say this is my first time coming here, and you should never order pizza from here. It wasn't perfect. It was just Brad with a small spot of sauce and pepperoni sausage. The worst part about this? WTF. Other people got different food that looked legit and pretty good. I guess I just screwed up by ordering this mediocre pizza. Great time today at Vivio's Detroit. Celebrated my wife's 65 birthday with 22 friends and family. Pizza, salads, tater tots were delicious, and of course their unrivaled Bloody Marys. Total experience was five star. Special thanks to David for all the pre-planning help and our server Toni who was the best! Met a friend here for lunch, and yes it's related to the one in Eastern Market. I have a large group coming there soon, and it looks like it will be a hit! I had passed by it over the years, figured it was fancy but it's a relaxed place with an interesting menu. I had a pot of mussels, they have several different preparations, and mine was Italian style with slices of sausage and onions in the broth. Vivio's is an institution and always a great time! The Bloody Marys are still the best in town. Sandwiches are big and delicious - my fave here is the reuben. My family and I were looking for a place that had pasta, individual pizzas and maybe sandwiches on the menu (because everyone had a taste for something different). My husband found Vivio's online so we tried it. I did love the ambience - the lighting was soothing and the noise level (TVs plus piped-in music) was not so loud that we couldn't carry on a conversation. The Bloody Marys were delicious. My brother ordered an individual pizza, I ordered the perch (the special that day) and my husband had steak stroganoff. We waited and waited for our food....at first I thought maybe it's a ploy to sell more cocktails, but our server was mostly absent during our wait time. Finally she brought my fish and my Hub's pasta, but informed us that Bro's pizza was delayed because the chef dropped it and was making a new one. My fish and fries were barely warm to the touch; Hub's pasta was a little warmer but it was obvious that both dishes had been plated and sitting a long time before our server delivered them. Bro's pizza was delivered about 15 minutes after Hub and I received our food; we'd tried to dine slowly so that Bro didn't have to eat alone but it didn't really work out. Our food was cold, Bro felt rushed and ate one piece of pizza and we took most of our meal home in carry-out boxes. The manager did give us half-off Bro's pizza, so at least an effort of apology was made. But a less-than-stellar first impression. (PS The food is tasty as heck - the perch (minus the fries; left those behind) and the stroganoff heated up in the microwave nicely later that night. read more

Vivio's is what I'd consider a fancier dive bar/restaurant. The food is excellent and the menu is vast. They have everything from Detroit style square pizza to mussels pots but also classics like burgers, wings, and wraps. They are known for their Bloody Mary's and the original location is still in Eastern Market. Vivio's has daily drink and food specials. It's the perfect place to grab a beer, watch the game, and play some keno. The bar area can get crowded but they have a fairly good sized dining area and it is family friendly. I usually make it at least once if not more when I'm in town visiting. read more

They're open until 10:30 PM on Monday. 11 PM the kitchen closes the rest the week. Ordered a chicken pita with pepper Jack, boneless wings with Parmesan garlic and classic cobb with cheese on the side and bacon on the side. The boneless wings are super heavy breading to me, Uber heavy, the waitress said it was light breading, we clearly have different definitions of what light breading is. The garlic Parmesan sauce and ranch came as a dips only, not tossed. Maybe our wires got crossed there too. She UX asked if I wanted ranch sauce and I said no, thay I wanted garlic Parmesan. The garlic Parmesan sauce is bland and boring. We still were given a side or ranch too. The Cobb salad is just okay. I did have two huge ends of the two romaine head butts and some brown pieces too in the salad. The chicken pita was disappointing, chicken wasn't bad, but the pita sandwich as a whole went flat after a bite for me. It was tasteless. The football game was playing and made it extra loud in the bar. I mute commercials at home since they are always 4 times louder than the program you're watching. read more

While in Detroit for a few days with hubby he was craving mussels. It was late and everything was nearly closing except this place. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted which was really nice. As we got seated, we started glimpsing at the menu then realized they had daily specials on food AND drinks. I ended up getting the $3 tacos and of course hubby got his mussels. He tore his mussels up which was a sign that their food was bomb lol. Their tacos were also good. When we do visit Detroit again, we'll be sure to make a pit stop. read more

This is a great spot for breakfast or lunch in Warren. Prices were reasonable, serving sizes were generous and they have many nice options on their menu. Check out their weekly specials too, like Tuesday night 3$ tacos and 5$ house margs! We had a Bloody Mary (just as good as the eastern market location) and beer and some apps. We had the chicken park bites, chunks of fried chicken in sauce and cheese and an order of fries. Everything was tasty and our waitress was great. Food was awful. Where to begin? Ultimate nachos were ultimately, horrible. A bed of stale chips over congealed cheese, dried, flavorless chicken, black olives, (straight out of the can), salsa that I'm convinced was Pace Picante sauce, and more flavorless toppings. You couldn't ask for crappier nachos if you tried. Caesar salad with the goopiest salad dressing that would make a fork stand up. Everything lacked flavor, and tasted like a cook was just dumping processed crap on a plate. My husband also had 5 wings which he said were not great as well. I normally enjoy Vivio's, but the last few meals I've had there were not great. Last night, I ordered a BLT thinking you can't go wrong with a simple BLT. It was the worst I have ever had. The bacon is microwaved until it practically inedible. The bread is so toasted it just crumbles. One slice of tomato, barely any lettuce, no pickle. It's a $14 sandwich. There is no excuse for it to be dried beyond what a food dehydrator would do. They should try be embarrassed to send those BLTs out to customers. read more

I've been on an avid hunt to find the perfect burger. I've visited tons of bars in the metro area and, I can confidently say that so far this burger takes the cake. 10/10 highly recommend. This bar is as cozy as can be, military owned by a marine, tons of TVs, excellent food menu, daily specials, large selection of craft beers and domestics, and attentive friendly bartenders. Unimpressed on multiple levels. Food: + My daughter liked her Turkey Spinach Panini and fries. - I was very disappointed with the Meat Lover's Philly. I counted either 3 or 4 pieces of Italian sausage and I'm not sure if there was actually bacon in there. Maybe it was super chopped up like bacon bits. They should instead lay on full strips. And the bun--I think it was an oversized hotdog bun. It was too soft and couldn't hold up to the ingredients. And if you're pulling it out of a bag, let's not describe it as a "fresh baked roll". I merely ate the meat with a fork. - House cut chips: half were crisp and the other half cold and soggy. Ambience: - NOT "kid friendly" despite be noted that way in Yelp's filters. I took a 14 year old and 17 year old and they (and I) were so uncomfortable by the raucous patrons. Granted it was a Friday at 6:30, but guests were so loud and packed in. Some of the locals who recognized others even yelled across the room and teasingly called the guy a "Mother F*er". To which the other guy pointed his two middle fingers down and said, "Can you hear this? Let me turn it up." and flipped up both middle fingers. By 7:30, the noise level and swearing was horrible. COVID: - If you haven't gotten it by the time you come here, you'll have a pretty good chance. Seating appeared to be at 100%. Tables were moved around to accommodate large parties. Hostess and bartender not wearing masks (although our waitress was). Patrons moving around without masks. People shoulder to shoulder at the bar. Keep in mind that this place is not large. If you're a local and your looking for a BAR that serves ok food, you probably love this place. Seriously, the best I've ever had. It was sweet and perfect. I would come back for another cocktail. We ordered the cheesy bread, a supreme pizza, and a ginger chicken pizza. Vivio's has always been a local go to... The last couple times have been worse and worse. Two takeout orders in the last two months have left a lot to be desired and the same bartender working both times handling the carry out was, quite simply, rude!!! Last time I waited 20 minutes after they said the order would be ready to finally get it, tonight it was ready 7 minutes after ordering it when it said 25-30 minutes? Tonight nachos were made wrong, ice cold and the chips were just gross and soggy. Very disappointing! We don't eat out very often so when we do it would be nice to at least enjoy it. Very impressed with this place! I was looking for a local joint to get a good burger and I was not disappointed. The burger itself was very flavorful, cooked perfectly and the toppings didn't make it a sloppy mess; lots of other places seem to have no concept that less is more when it comes to a burger and no one wants to fork and knife it. American cheese, bacon and sauteed onions. Simple, but delicious! The fries are frozen, but at least they were a decent product and everything was served hot. Again, something that lot of places don't do for some reason... I want my food hot, not warm... Really nice beer list, but I'd recommend going for pints. The mugs are HUGE, which isn't a bad thing, but just be prepared to consume a ton of beer if you get mug. The pale ale that was made for them by Kuhnhenn was great. I half expected an "upscale dive", but it's just a nice clean neighborhood bar with great food and drinks. Can't wait to go back and try their pizza and some kind of Philly. read more
