I've been to Kozy Lounge twice and enjoyed myself. The vibe is fun and the service is friendly. Love the dark wood paneling inside. Reminds me of childhood and being at my grandparents with the wood paneling everywhere lol. Drinks are very reasonable. Five dollars for a Tito and soda as well as the mini beer shots. Seems to be the norm too not just a happy hour special. We were there on a busy Saturday night and between watching the Tigers game, playing Keno, and listening to music we had a great time. Kitchen was busy serving burgers and fries. The fish sandwich looked pretty tasty as well. We didn't eat this time but everyone seemed to be ordering food which tells me it's probably good. read more

Must have been an off night. 1st time visitor. Not sure how one can prepare a tasteless party melt, but that is what I was served. Service was extremely slow and it was a little off-pudding getting served by someone who looked like she forgot to put her pants on before coming to work. It's National Burger Month and it has taken me 9 days into the celebration to finally get a hold of one and let me tell you, this is unacceptable. The one thing Tony Stark and I have in common outside of rugged good looks, billions of dollars and a genius level IQ is our mutual love of the American cheeseburger. Footnote: quite possibly only one thing in that list might be true. I have been coming to Kozy forever and a day. It was always one of my go to places for inexpensive drinks. Shockingly enough, I had never eaten here before but when I heard they had one of the best burgers in Michigan I had to revisit my old haunt to see what I've been missing out on all these years. Walked in and it didn't look like a thing had changed. It was awesome! Ordered the Kat Burger and a Coors Light. I swear it was the same old timers sitting next to me now as it was 30 years ago. Burger delivered and it looked fantastic. In my life I would never have thought to put honey on a burger, and in my life I have missed out on a lot. Wow what a sandwich. The honey mixed nicely with the jalapenos and bacon, plus the mixture of a little heat, sweet and salt was amazing. No wonder they won the burger battle. To top it off, a burger this good and a beer that ok was only $10. Where you going to find that kind of happiness for such an inexpensive price nowadays? No idea. The perfect "dive bar" does exists! It's on 10 mile in Hazel Park, and it's called Kozy's. Great food, especially the Kozy burger and the tater tots, but I was surprised at how awesome the wraps were as well. Great beer specials, a friendly staff and atmosphere, and a super well maintained shuffle board table all make for the perfect place to hang out. We had a blast here, it wasn't loud or dirty inside, but it had that feeling like your favorite pair of worn in jeans. Can't wait to come back again! read more

Stopped in for a burger and I remember hearing about them getting some award for best burger, I got the Kat Burger and my date got the Kozy Burger. A throw back in time dive bar.1970s paneling everywhere! A former karaoke space sits unused for a few years. Huge pool table area right near the front entrance. Met a friend and sat at the bar. Coleen, the waitress/ bartender was funny. I chose the 10 mile burger - was good and huge. Buddy went with a blt, said it was good. Draft beer- nice and cold. Lots of locals here. The van outside, says it been here since the early 1960s . Worth a try ! read more

The food was good and will give another chance. Was a bit disappointed that the staff weren't masked when the clientele was masked as requested protocol to guidelines. Tracing form was also optional which we want places to stay open so to me should be followed. It's all a learning curve so will be back. I really wanted to like this place. But when a place pulls a fast one it really pisses me off. Walk in and the bartender middle aged woman super nice. Ordered Sam Adam's 22oz for $3.5 then the keg blows. Her response is no worries I'm switching it out for Bells Oberon if you want that instead of the Sam Adam's. What she failed to say was the damn beer was $8.5 each for a 22oz beer. I was speechless when I saw the bill as she literally took advantage of us. I was not in an argumentative mood therefore I paid and left her 20% tip on the total. It's f%#ked up when a beer is more expensive than the burger. Very sad this happened because I really wanted to like this place. I mean they have 5 Hamms for $9. Would have rather had that. I don't pay $9 for a beer at a dive bar. Come the hell on! Visiting the area and our friends brought us to the Kozy. I'm a burger snob and always try the basic burger to see what it's all about. It was fabulous! Uh oh!!!! Trouble for all, trouble for all.... Kim, who made the super awesome tacos that I reviewed, has left, and unfortunately, that taco deliciousness went with her. If you go during the day I guess, LInda, one of the other barmaids can make them pretty up to snuff, or so I hear. But when I went in 2 Thursdays ago for a carry out, I was disgusted at what I got home with. There was a new girl behind the bar and I knew immediately my tacos may be in serious danger. The shells are being pre-fried which you CANNOT do!! Chewy and greasy!!! Worse yet there was about 1/4 of the filling that used to be there, with one big blog of sour cream on one end. I FUCKING THREW THEM AWAY!!!! I was so pissed, I called my dad and yelled at him about it for 10 minutes. I was nearly in tears. Breaks my taco-loving heart! I will miss those awesome tacos. Stopped here to meet up with a few friends and hangout on Saturday night. Definitely a nice reprieve from the fancier bars that seem to be all the rage these days. It's everything you would expect from a good local bar. Our server was awesome and super attentive. Beer was cheap and cold and they had a decent selection. Got a cheeseburger and fries which were good too. They also had karaoke going on which is always a good time. The guy running it seemed to have a lot of technical difficulties though. They also have a nice shuffleboard table, a pool table, darts, jukebox, and all the other fun stuff that a good bar should have. Plenty of TVs to watch whatever game is on too. read more

Boy, what a terrible bartender. Last night, I decided to stop by Kozy's around Midnight, as I was craving a cheeseburger. Boy, this bartender. I asked if the 'grill' was still open, and she said sure, and I asked if I could get a Cheeseburger, and a Rum & Coke. Mentioned that it was my friends Birthday who passed earlier this year. She told me she wouldn't serve me. I asked her why not, and she refused to elaborate. So, I went outside to have a cigarette, and talked with other people who were hanging out. She came up to me and told me I had to leave, and she was calling the police. Now, I am a very reasonable person. I don't get into peoples faces, or anything. The bartender was completely rude. She pushed me out, and I was trying to say goodbye to the people I was talking to. As I was outside, waiting for Uber driver, the police arrived. I asked if I seemed overly intoxicated to rude, and they said no. Apparently, this bartender is known by the local police for calling them a lot. Anyhow, I left, and went to a place called Eddies. The Cheeseburger there hit the spot. As for Kozy's, I will never go back here, unless I decide to have a conversation with the owners. Don't waste you time. This isn't a friendly place as long as that bartender works there. (I'm used to another bartender, who is very nice. Guess she doesn't work on the weekends as often as she used to.) Sad part is, the other staff members are nice, and this one bartender is driving away business. So sad. read more
