I've been here a couple times for karaoke. I believe they have karaoke on Friday and Saturday night. It's usually busy and the rotation to sing can get long. It's recently been redone in the last few years. They have a nice outside patio as well as a spacious inside. I've only tried the wings here but the menu looks pretty good with things like salmon and steak available in addition to regular type of bar food. The bartenders are quick and attentive and the crowd is a nice mixture of younger and older folks who all seem to get along pretty well together. read more

I've posted numerous times about Metro Bar and Grill. There's an awful lot to like about it which is why I post so frequently. They make their soups from scratch and they kick butt! They feature a cheddar jalapeno every Sunday that even in summer months almost always sells out. He also features soups like bacon asparagus, chicken and long grain wild rice, roasted garlic cauliflower, loaded baked potato, and the classic clam chowder (which is awesome), along with some others I haven't even mentioned. Since they're remodel the place has a slightly industrial feel with lots of glass slash windows so you don't feel like you're cooped up in a dark bar. My favorite dishes are the fish tacos, the rib basket or dinner, the fish and chips ( I get them dry battered instead of dipped in the wet batter so they are much lighter than traditional deep fried fish), their lasagna (which is the only lasagna I have ever purchased in a restaurant because it is that good), and my latest addiction, the Metro Salad. I replaced the blue cheese with feta and omit the olives and it is my favorite salad anywhere! Do yourself a favor in the next time you're thinking of going out for something to eat and choose Metro! read more

Nobody's perfect I would give it about a four and a half. They care about the food that they serve it has a nice atmosphere and they have a nice variety on their menu. Metro is a walking distance from my house. This spot is not known for their food, unless it's bar food! I understand Covid has really caused places to raise prices and make money, but if he only food option I'll eat is the burger - it's disappointing that the burger went from 5 dollars to 8. A 3 dollar increase for a burger with no fries or drink... I don't understand how a place that has made zero improvements during Covid can raise their prices 66%.... SMH Not sure I'll be back with no justification for the crazy price increase. read more

The apps were yummy, the drinks were good. You could tell this place was a community of regulars. My only issue was that when my husband and I found a table, a girl came over and sat at our table and stared at us without saying a word. I asked her if we had an advertently sat at her table and she said no and continued to stare at us. We all stared at each other awkwardly for a few seconds. After about 30 seconds, we realized that she' was probably our waitress and asked what was on tap. Every interaction with her proceeded in the exact same way. She sat sideways on one of our chairs and stared at us until one of us spoke. It was incredibly strange. read more

Update: they scaled back karaoke since the Pandemic, but still use LSharp Productions (they're great). As long as I've been coming here, the food is consistently awesome. The soup ALWAYS slaps. I used to get the wings and the ribs a lot, and those were always good, I'd expect them to still be great. Even the stir-fry was surprisingly good the one time I ordered it (I almost never order stir-fry from a bar, but I was looking for a slightly healthier option and I believe it was recommended to me). Just... do yourself a favor and check out Metro. Especially if you like sports, they'll always have the game on. Oh and the place is always full of hot younger guys on a weekend night so there's *that.* read more

This bar has really good food but sadly the atmosphere is awful! I was sitting at the bar ordered a beer and dinner then a group of employees came in and sat next to me. They were talking so loud I couldn't here anything but them. The girl sitting next to me kept bumping into me and reached over my food to get the bartender's attention. The bartender (Lisa) then proceeded to take shots and I'm sure had more to drink then I did. I felt more like a third wheel then a customer. Employees from the kitchen came out to say hi to everyone so this must be regular behavior. So disappointing read more

Not So Great If You're Asian After having been to Metro Bar many times with her co-workers, my wife and her friend decided to stop in for a celebratory drink this evening. Both are Filipinas in their twenties. After sitting at the bar and ordering their drinks, they were told that they wouldn't be served. No explanation or justification, just an implied request to leave. I'm not saying there was anything nefarious at play, but.... the only thing unique about them was the color of their skin. So if you're a white racist, this might be a great place to hang out. But for the rest of us, maybe not so much. read more

So i went to this place last night, a chubby girl with glasses was soooo rude!!!!! We waited 30 minutes for our soup we got the broccoli soup and it was cold and salty I'm a server myself so i don't like to complain but i tried to eat it, as hard as a tried THEN i get a taco salad and the meat was so salty as well, i took 2-3 bites to make sure it wasn't just me so i took it back and she still charged me for it saying "we'll you ate out of it" the manager with blonde hair didn't seem happy by taking it off and was rude also! I've been told to stay away from this place now i know why! It's very unorganized and other people were checked on and taken care of before us when we were there first! I will never go to this place there's so many other places around there that you can go to! i suggest you checking them out rather then this place! read more

Wow!!!! The prices really went up and the food really went downhill. Keep going back because we figured it was a one time occurrence. Either our food is over cooked or under cooked. And does the owner really not care about the bathrooms ? They haven't been mopped in months and I'm being generous. I've seen cleaner bathrooms at a truck stop. The owner needs to reevaluate the prices when there is nothing else to back it up. They sell cleaning supplies at the dollar store, just a FYI since your so hard up for money. read more

So for starters of why we love this bar.. Their burger, fry and beer special is $8! You can't go to a fast food chain and pay that amount; That's what makes it beyond worth it! Metro is pretty much your typical Michigan watering hole but they have a few extra qualities that make them worth a visit if you're in the area: 1) food is better than most bar food and they are super accommodating when you want something not directly on the menu. When I was there, I wanted a salad but couldn't stop eyeing the Greek sausage that came with another dish. The waitress let me order sausage as a topping for my salad (for a charge) and was very nice about not calling me a weirdo for it haha 2) Karaoke night on Fridays! The karaoke host, DJ, is very laidback and personable. He's neither over-the-top nor standoffish ... just a nice in between that makes it comfortable to go up even if you're new to making an a** of yourself at karaoke ha. The only negative about Metro is some of the seating: it can be pretty cramped and the bar is a sunken style that uses regular height chairs, not barstools. read more

The food was great, drinks are wonderful, and the atmosphere is relaxed. It's a very tiny place, so it gets crowded quickly. I've been coming here for about 4 years now and usually have a great time. The last couple experiences have been less than stellar. Last night, myself and 3 friends stopped in for dinner and a couple drinks. Our server seemed very disinterested in helping us. At the beginning I asked if there were any drink specials. She responded "no" and then turned to walk away, I had to speak up to then place my drink order if it wasn't obvious I wanted to order something. The other server working then corrected her by saying it was $3 you-call-its. For the rest of the night, the other server working the floor answered more of our questions because our server was hardly checking on our table. My food was decent. I ordered the cheeseburger wrap and poutine. I think the poutine had too much cheese, but that's manageable. The time before this the same friends and I were getting food and one of our food orders wasn't even put in. We didn't find out until the other food orders were being brought to the table. I'm sad that the staff isn't providing the service we have come to love. I am doubtful about returning. read more

It's a decent place, your typical local bar, with good drink specials. When I went on Monday they had bogo burgers $4 dollars for 2 and they were good. The waitress was really sweet too. It's not a big development but it's cozy and has a decent amount of TVs so you're able to watch the games easily. There's also a pool table on site, which makes it a good location to chill with some friends have some brews and good times. 4.5 stars in my book but giving 5 for the lack of reviews posted and they deff deserve a chance if you've never been. read more
