I was very hesitant to come here after seeing the reviews. But my dad actually had his car fixed here years back and said they took care of him. I dropped my car off on Thursday morning at 8am and received it back Friday at 5pm. Super fast service with very good work. Tony quoted me $400 for the service. I'm happy with my results so I'll be using them again if I have any other issues. My car was super dirty and they even gave it a slight wash, I appreciate it! read more

Horrible Service. Has had my car for almost three months for something that should of took three days. Alexis constantly lies about things. They decide when they want to come to work. So today my husband and I came to this auto body shop to get an estimate on a paint job on my husband bumper and the owner tony was VERY rude and unprofessional!!!! My husband call first and was told to still bring his vehicle in to get an exact estimate so as soon as we gets here the owner seems to be upset already and so when my husband was explaining to him what was going on with his bumper and how somebody he spoke with over the phone gave him a price of $175 but he still needed to come in so the owner which is tony got smart and said " ok didn't I tell you $175" so my husband said well you still told me to bring it in to be for sure about the price. So tony proceeds to have a bad attitude and just rude! I will NEVER EVER recommend this establishment to NOBODY!!! and I see from the comments that we are not the only ones who feel this way!! read more

Don't ever take your car to this shop. Their work sub-par. I had to bring my car back after the paint began to peel. They keep your vehicle longer than expected and don't bother to communicate with you when there is a delay. The customer service stinks as well. Spend a few more bucks and take tou vehicle to another shop that has a better reputation than these guys. read more

Worst shop ever! My car has been there for over 6 months Tony is a rude unprofessional asshole

Dont bring your automobile here not a professional their just collecting money its a game with these people you will be very sorry

Louies auto body is a small neighborhood hispanic business, the owner (Tony) is very rude(a$$). He is the definition of the word jerk! I asked him a simple question about a technique that I heard from another shop. He had the nerve to get an attitude and tell me to take my car to the "white man". I couldn't believe he said that. So if you you want disrespectful service this is the place for you! read more

My review A BIG ZERO NO STAR I wrote a review about 3 weeks ago and it has been removed because of warning that I'm given to people that could possibly save a life.. This place was the worst experience ever. Tony that guy is a joke he's very unprofessional he had my car for 8 months and he did absolutely nothing every time I went to the shop to check on my vehicle he would tell me your vehicle is almost ready you can come get it by the end of the week or by next week at the latest he made promises for months that were out right lies he never had any intentions on working on my vehicle period which he could have easily said I can't or I choose not to instead he wasting 8 months of my time I feel like repairing cars is really not his priority if you know what I mean. He gave me every excuse from I've been on vacation to he's short on staff. After going back and forth I started to notice that there were several other people going through the exact same thing but they were reallly angry and I notice that Tony would go hide My advice don't waste your time because there's a. lot of angry people going back and forth trying to get there vehicle. After all I went through with this guy he blew a smoke screen like I was the problem because after 8 months I couldn't take it anymore. Stay away from here if you don't want to be disappointed. This is to you Tony everytime you erase my review I'm going to redo it so I can warn my people. There plenty of places that does much better work and has a much safer invironment. read more

It is sad to see all these bad reviews because my husband has been going here for over 10 years and has never had a bad experience. If you looking for a bougie place this not it, HOWEVER if you need bodywork it gets done and it is done very well. Never had an issue. I trusted him with my 2020 and it looks like it was never a problem. Can his customer service be improved upon, yes, but his work is excellent. read more

My car sat on the street for a whole month after I payed them $1000. Louie's auto body parts didn't do a thing of work on my car for a whole month. Said I'd get my car back in two weeks, Kept on saying call me on this date, call me on that date, it should be ready by this date, it should be ready by that date. Got my car back 3 MONTHS LATER. Careless and full of lies. DO NOT use this shop! read more

This shop is TERRIBLE, I took my car there and got a very reasonable estimate and was instructed to bring it in Monday. Came back Monday and was told I was too late they'd already taken 10 cars in....I asked if I could leave the car Alex said no, come back Wednesday. Came back Wednesday before they opened and there were 5 people in line ahead of me! Alex took those 5 cars and told me to come back Monday, came back Monday and Alex isn't coming in......met Tony. He says he has too many cars, come back Wednesday!!! You would think these people were giving away money the way people wait for them. They won't give you an appointment! I'm glad I happened upon these reviews. It appears their work is bad AND they give a low estimate only to charge MORE. And keep your car for months, I think I dodged a bullet this time. read more

This place totally neglected my vehicle. It is worse than it was when I brought it there.

Well! I have a tale to tell and its not a good one. I have lived in South Chicago where Louie's is located for years. I remember when the uncle owned it and the place was shut down for being a front for drug dealing. When Tony and crew first reopened, they were known for doing excellent work at fair prices but that seems to have gone the way of the landline phone. Tony has always had a sucky attitude and a case of an extremely swelled head but since the work was good I always ignored it. Today he was such an a$$ and so unprofessional that I need to warn people. I have driver side damage to my door and because the door won't open, I have to crawl out of the passenger side to exit the vehicle. I pulled up into the driveway of Louies where Tony was standing about five feet away talking to another customer. He saw my car, ignored it and turned to go inside. In an effort to get his attention so that I could discuss the business of getting my car fixed, I tapped the horn. He couldn't see the damage on the drivers side and before we could say anything, he gave a smart remark that "this ain't a drive thru like Burger King", with an ugly smirk on his face. My fiance was trying to tell him why I couldn't exit the vehicle and all he managed to say was "sir..." and Mr. Big Head Honcho just went off. Instead of just walking over to the car so that we could discuss business, he insulted us to the maximum. Then he threatened us and HE CALLED US NIG--. Mind you, I have been doing business with them for years and I never knew they were racist Mexican Americans toward African American clientele. I was so shocked and dumbfounded that it took a few minutes to start the car and leave. He is lucky that my fiance is a gentleman but no one has to endure this! DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS AND ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE AFRICAN AMERICAN. Their work was good in the beginning but they have succumbed to a case of massive EGO and they have fallen off and charge astronomical amounts for funky attitudes and shoddy work that takes forever to complete... read more

recently needed body work done to my car. I decided to take it to Louie Auto Body shop on 87th and Burley. The man Alex initially told me that my car will take two weeks. As time go by once it hit the second week I started calling. He would always tell me it would be ready the next week. Now starting on week 6 he continues to tell me that it's only a little work left. He even deducted $300 because of the time I wait. I pop up to the shop. The car was parked on the street for six weeks. I came to get my car they didn't fix a damn thing. If I could give it a zero I would. They took my mom's car in for work and I had to wait two and half months for them to fix it. I left $400 for them to as a downpayment for the car. They agreed to fix the car at $1400 dollars. I'm not great at math but they were supposed to charge me $1000 for the rest of the balance. They ended up charging me $1400 dollars. They basically stole $400 from me. On top of that they tried to charge me an additional $35 fee for storage. The owner is a jackass! I will never do business with them again! read more

Complaint Summary Complaint Type: Consumer to Business Complaint Nature of complaint: Repair Issues Problem description: On 12/9/19 I took my car- A 2004 Ford Escape- to Loui's Auto Body to have my rear passenger side wheel tower wielded. The salesperson, Alex took a cash payment of $270 and assured me that my vehicle would be repaired the following Wednesday, December 11, 2019. On the 11th I called the shop and Alex told me that the car was not done and would not be completed until Friday, 12/13/2019. I called on that Friday and Alex again told me that the car would not be completed until the end of the day. I called at the end of the day on Friday and the car was still not finished. Alex explained to me that the car would not be completed until Saturday the next day (12/14/2019). I called at 3:30 pm 12/14/2019 and Alex told me to to call back in an hour and a half. That's when I became suspicious. I realized that an hour and a half from 3:30 would be closing time. So I should up at the shop at 4:45 pm that Saturday. I entered the office and talked to another mechanic and told him I was there to pick up my 2004 Ford Escape. He was unfamiliar with the vehicle and said they did not have an order for the car. Alex came to the office. I asked him where was my car. He told me that it was not done and that he promised me that the car would be serviced first thing Monday morning (12/16/2019). He promised me that the car would be completed that same day. When I returned that following Monday, I discovered the body shop closed and would be so for the following 2 weeks for the Christmas season. In the mean time, my car was parked across the street in a city block and not on the property of the body shop. As of today, 12/30/2019 I have continually called the shop and got no answer. I showed up at the shop today, 12/30/2019 I personally went to the shop and met 2 other customers who were also cash payment customers who have also been given the same script by Alex and were looking for their cars only to find the shop closed and without being serviced. I borrowed the money to have my car repaired to start a new job in the suburbs. Needless to say, I had to turn the position down for lack of transportation. I only want my money back NOW!!! Warning: Do not take you car to Louie's Auto Body Shop!!! read more

Excellent job on my mother-in-law's car! It had scratches on the hood and a big dent on the door. I was very happy about the pricing, and the work Tony and Jose did was top-notch. The mark of a superior auto body shop is not necessarily it's size nor the amount of cars that sits on the property , but the quality of it's owner as well as it's employees and the effort put behind their work to keep the customers satisfied. Regrettably Louie's is not among these gems. The quality and quantity of work produced by Louie's is unacceptable on all levels starting with the lack of communication & honesty between owner and patron. As a business owner Tony's not a dependable business man when it comes to completing a job in a timely manner especially when he gives you a specific date. Integrity is definitely not a strong suit for this business it's just a matter of time before someone sue this man. read more

Very unprofessional I had gotten a quote for the job which was okay told me to come back Saturday then got there and said I have to many cars can you bring it back no problem called to make sure it was OK he said bring get there again tells me I'm late I came at 8:30 am we open up at 7:00 am I'm going by what you told me I told him I have a job and I got to take my kids to school when you tell one thing and do another it's very unprofessional I don't no who owns it but I dealt with Alex I used them before without a problem don't no what happened if you can't do the job tell the person up front don't lie to them was a loyal customer won't be going back a will suggest others don't go there a waste of time. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I brought my car in to have my bumper repaired after a accident, they have had my car for a month, when I call to inquire about when it will be fixed I'm told the next day, the next day comes I'm told it will be ready the next day and on and on. I got to the shop and demand to see my car, it's covered in dust they have touched it at ALL IN A MONTH. They have had the parts for a week and still have not fixed my car. I was told my car was not a priority. This is the most god awful auto body shop. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else. read more

Haven't brought a car there but I saw an incident from across the street. An employee took parts and tossed them at what looked like a dealer vehicle dropping off parts and watched the delivery guy frantically look around for the parts he threw. Then after he hopped back in the vehicle the same employee got in a car and honked at the driver until he pulled off. If that's how employees treat people supplying them with parts imagine how they care for customer vehicles. read more

I called yesterday and was told to bring my car in early. I arrive at 830. Cars were coming out the bay tony the owner was directing traffic. When I thought he was done I pointed towards the shop and said you ready for me now. He yelled back use your fucking common sense don't block my garage then he jumped into a car. I pulled over to him and asked you having a bad day. I don't work for you. This tuff guy gives me the finger and pulls off to drive back in the garage. Obviously I'm mad. Me and my family have spent money their for years. I buss a u tony gets out the car we have words and then he says You people are don't think I'm black he's Hispanic. I say who's the you people. Black peoples. Now he can't answer. Looking around for his employees. Luckily for me the police came by and calmed me down. Long story short. If you are black and patronize this business. I RATE THEM A NEGATIVE INFINITY! THEY SUCK INFINITELY!! Following a car accident, they have had my car since March 2nd 2012. Due to insurance delays they were not told to begin work until March 18th. On March 31st - April 6th I was continually told, on an every other day basis, that my car was ready. I don't know why these other people had a bad experience, but I'm here to say I used Louie's services on two separate occasions and both times Tony and the crew came thru with flying colors. My car was always ready when promised. And their prices are the best. read more

Louies Auto Body 3200 E 87th St Chicago, IL 60617 Phone number (773) 768-9252 Well I have one that can beat everyone's horror story with these shysters. Louies was recommended by another shop that didn't do body work. I went around there and talked to Tony. He gave me his phone number and told me I could email him pics of my car. He gave me a quote and I had my car towed in and gave him a $500 deposit. This was in March of 2015. I called in July of 2015 and was told that the car still wasn't ready and to check back the next week. I called back and was told the same thing. I waited until September and called Tony's phone. He answered and I told him I was calling about my car. He paused for a minute then said he was not in the shop but would be there in an hour. I called back an hour later and there was some message on his phone like it was no longer his???? I went to the shop and he told me to speak with Alex. Alex told me the paint machine was down, (after asking me several times which car was mine.) He said it was stuck in a pile of snow and he had to get someone to dig it out and for me to come back next week. Guess what, same thing again. I finally contacted the attorney general's office. They sent them 2 letters which they never replied to. This is ridiculous, and very unprofessional. I'm almost positive this would be a good class action law suit due to all the deception that has taken place it would fall under fraud. My next step is contacting an attorney. It's over a year and they still have my car. Louies Auto Body 3200 E 87th St Chicago, IL 60617 Phone number (773) 768-9252 read more

DO NOT GO HERE. ESPECIALLY if your insurance is paying! They are rude. They lie about when the car will be done. They take their sweet time and treat you like dirt. I took my car to this shop July 13th and was told my car would be ready in a week. A week went by and they said I had to wait until they received the insurance check to have my car released. Once I knew they received the insurance check (a Saturday) I called and was told that my car was not ready because there was a mixup between my car and someone else's and that mine would be ready that following Tuesday. Tuesday came and I was told it would be ready Thursday. I was given the run around for another week before getting my car. THEN when it was given back it STILL WASNT FINISHED and I had to come back every day for a week before they finally finished it today August 14th! They had the nerve to tell me that it was my fault I wasn't coming in early enough to get it finished when they were OVERPAID for my car A WHOLE MONTH AGO at this point. They only care about money.
