I saw the great reviews here, so brought it in to see what could be done because it seemed obvious that something was just misaligned. Tech came out to inspect my car and was telling me I definitely needed new hinges! I might need a new door! This is going to run a lot of money! That they weren't going to try to investigate a misalignment because they wanted to do things "the right way!" Sure buddy. I thanked him, left and went to the body shop just down the street. Where a tech took a look at the door, determined that the A-pillar on the car door hinge had just gotten bumped out of place, bumped it back into place which fixed the problem, and within 15 seconds sent me on my way. Didn't even charge me because it was such a minor "repair" if you can even call it that. Royal might be good at what they do, I don't know. But they tried to upsell me on a repair that was thousands of dollars for something that wasn't even broken and was a component easily pushed right back into place. So definitely get a second opinion if you go here.

Not a fluke, on both of my visits in this cramped office in October 2020, staff not using masks, plus no plastic barriers at the service desk, and no hand sanitizer for customers. Did they not get the 2020 memo that a pandemic is in progress?! (This was October 2020, months in to Covid.) Not a good experience. No updates on how car repair was going, they had the car for 2 weeks. In this day of texting and e-mail, unacceptable lack of communication. After 13 days I called and did not get a return phone call, I had to walk down to Suburban to learn the status of my vehicle's broken sunroof glass, not a huge job here to fix here folks. When I asked about my call not being returned they said the answering machine was somewhere in the back shop and they had not gotten to it. My insurance adjuster said he also had turtle slow responses from Suburban. You can do better folks, do shop around. When I asked about them not wearing masks during customer visits, they just shrugged. Customers were wearing a mask like myself, but not the folks in the front office at Suburban! Dr. Fauci, please come and visit these folks and educate them.

Mr. Kim and Roger did a very thorough job of evaluating the damage and explaining carefully what our best options were, including finding an excellent deal for us to replace our tires with new Michelines that we needed. This is the second time we have had our car repaired after a minor accident and it was repaired for a very fair price. We asked for a shorter time since it was my daughter's spring break. At first they said it was ok but then they changed their mind. They insisted on a minimum of three weeks. I think that they run a racket on the tesla loaners and charge the insurance with luxury rentals. Their main focus was to secure as much money they could procure for themselves ignoring all the requests of the customers. In total they took around $12,000 for a repair of less than $2000 for an average paint shop. (they tell everyone a minimum of three weeks!)

They gave me a repair estimate of $17,335.18 on October 15, which seemed reasonable, and I assumed work was being done. For over two months, I waited with no updates. Suddenly, on December 5, they emailed demanding the loaner back immediately and threatened a police report for "failure to return a rental vehicle." I called their rep (Alfonso), who said he would extend the loaner--he never followed up. That evening, the loaner was remotely disabled (Valet Mode) while I was driving, stranding me overnight in 20°F snowy/rainy weather on a busy DC street. I had to pay for towing myself to avoid freezing. The next morning (December 6), they called police (Rockville and Prince George's County), claiming I failed to return the rental. They also told officers my Florida license was "fake" or fraudulent. Police cleared me immediately. I repeatedly explained my disabilities (immune-compromised, OCD, ADHD, anxiety) and asked for accommodations to get my medication and belongings from the loaner (less than ¼ mile away at a friend's house). They refused and left me stranded without transportation or meds ever since. Now they demand over $14,000 in storage/rental fees--almost as much as the repair estimate--yet no work was ever done on my car. I have video, emails, bills, and records. This was unsafe, unprofessional, and unacceptable. Avoid if you value safety and clear communication.

He came to my place but added an extra $25 to the original quote for fuel costs. I agreed, as long as he did a good job. It took him about 20 minutes to remove the dent. However, the interior of the hood had some paint removed. While the ding was gone, a visible line remained at certain angles. He claimed this was due to the hood being aluminum and that he couldn't get it perfect. Another place quoted me more and said its 1-2 hours for the job, and I believe they would have done it right. If you want perfection, he's not your guy. The fix was better than the golf ball-sized dent, and the line is only visible at the right angle. I can live with it, but I'd rather pay a bit more for a perfect result.
