Solid place for breakfast if you ask me. We were heading out to Maine and wanted to stop somewhere on the way for a good hearty breakfast. Yelp help me fine this place for sure. Walking in you can tell the "locals" love this place. I was looking at the specials and they aren't your normal breakfast fare. I wanted to get the Italian breakfast but they were all out of meatballs...bumper! So I settled for their steak tips and eggs. Another dish on their menu that intrigued me was their filo fresh toast. If I am in the area again for breakfast I will order that for sure. Other dishes at the table ordered was sausage and peppers omelet, hash and eggs and and order of pancakes. Just like every other review, portions here are on the big side. I am pretty sure they make all the breads here too, the in laws really liked the cinnamon raisin bread. This is the best diner I've ever been to in Massachusetts. The servers are very nice, the parking is convenient, and the food is delicious. The food comes in a large portion, and I wasn't even able to finish my food. He had an omelette the size of a throw rug and home fries that were so overflowing I am surprised our waitress did hurt her back lifting that enormous plate of food. Only complaint is waiting over an hour to get a seat but I do have to say it was worth it. Food was amazing especially the home fries. Homemade corned beef hash was the best ive had at any diner, ever. Staff was personable and helpful. They worked at a very fast pace but we didn't feel rushed at all. First it's totally worth the wait. The service is great, the girls are quick, they have rules like your entire party must be there to be seated, which makes sense.....we were brought here by a friend while visiting the area on vacation but I had already done my research and knew we were in for a treat. First time coming here last week, while there was a line on a Thursday morning for brunch it was worth the 15 minute wait. We sat at the bar area, and it was not too crowded at all. I got a Pastrami Sandwich , the portion was huge so I only ate half of it, it was even better the next day! The service was fantastic, fast, and very friendly. This is def a solid 2.5 star place. I had so much love for Lou rocs back in the day. I really can't imagine why now after going back a few times to catch the nostalgia again I am super disappointed. The quality of the food first off has completely nose dived. As well as whomever is preparing it. The wait is always forever ... even on a freaking Monday morning- like what the hell do these people do with themselves ? I've def seen some rude people get into it with one another more than once waiting for 45 mins trying to cut in line. .. - and it's cash only. The seating arrangement is crowded even with a haphazardly thrown on addition from years ago that afforded them oh just about a half dozen more tables. Mainly breakfast is what we stuck to and after a dismal omelette a couple of times I opened for a turkey club the last time and I have to say of all I tried it was the best- but not memorable, as is most of the food. I really kinda want it to bounce back. I enjoyed coming here very much as a youngster and young adult but even the coffee is meh and THAT my friends is a diner MUST for at least half way decent quality. This is usually one of my top choices for breakfast. The food is always good and the service is always been pleasant and efficient. The amount of food you get here is fantastic. I don't recall ever finishing my plate. The only issue I have with this diner is its popularity. Because it is such a well known and well liked diner, you may have a long wait, especially on the weekends. The only time my boyfriend and I had no wait was we showed up right when Lou Rocs opened one morning. If you can deal with the wait, then the food is worthwhile. read more
