In a city of great BBQ spots, unfortunately I can't really say this is one of them. Service was…read morequick and utilitarian, it moves pretty fast, and I can't imagine them running out of stuff like other places. The inside is pretty typical, but it's just kinda out there in a weird spot in the parking lot by itself. The food...well, it is at least cheaper than most places. I did like their pork loin, haven't seen that at other restaurants. The meat plate seemed a bit skimpy though, and the sides just weren't good. The broccoli salad was just kinda bland, and the banana pudding is probably the worst I've had around here. The peach habanero sauce was too sweet and ketchup-y for me. You do get a nice piece of crunchy toast at least. I went here to redeem a birthday reward, and at $8 out the door, it was fine. But I can't see myself coming back, there are just too many other options. Glad I tried it

We found Gebby's BBQ to be reasonably priced compared to other Austin BBQ restaurants. From the beginning, both Chris (The Owner and Master Pit Man) and Elizabeth to be extremely professional and prompt. Any questions or changes needed on the quote, they were on top of anything we needed. The day of the event, they arrived early as they said they would and set up quickly. The aroma of the food was wonderful throughout our venue. We had a handful of vegetarian/vegan employees and the offer a smoked vegetable tray with corn tortillas as one of their options. The food we chose was a 3 meat plate with 3 sides and cookies for the dessert. We chose Brisket, Turkey and Sausage. For the sides, we had Gouda Mac and Cheese, Creamed Corn and Beans. Everything was extremely delicious and the feedback I gathered from numerous employees was nothing but positive reviews on the food. They even allow us to KEEP the leftover food! This was awesome as we had a few bbq quotes that STATED that we could not keep the leftover food! Overall, our experience with them far exceeded our expectations and I would recommend them for your catering needs!

For fifteen people, the total cost was $425.69. This included delivery costs and taxes, but no tip. It consisted of three meats, two sides, and a dessert along with pickles, onions, bread, and BBQ sauce. There was also a set of utensils delivered, but plates were forgotten, but not a big deal. Brisket - This was definitely the best item eaten of the day. It was tender and juicy while adding the BBQ sauce giving that extra bite. The BBQ sauce was great regardless, a little bit of sweet and smoky flavor going on. Pulled Pork - This was another solid meat choice. I did not think it was as tender as the brisket, but it was still enjoyable especially with that BBQ sauce, which was key throughout the meal. Sausage - This was not bad. The snap on this threw me off a little, but it was not too bad. They were large links and had plenty of flavor. Gouda Mac & Cheese with Smoked Bacon - This was actually penne pasta with little pieces of the bacon. I actually preferred this pasta choice here. It really soaked up the cheese sauce. The sauce was not too over powerful and was just right. Beans with Smoked Bacon - These were not too bad. I thought they were a little liquidity, but the added bacon pieces definitely helped. Banana Pudding - This came in individual cups, which was nice. The pudding was thick with a little meringue or whipped cream present and a few wafer cookies on top. It was a satisfying ending to a very good meal. Will I go back? Yes.

Locally owned since the 80s and run by Vic and his family, the food and friendliness are unmatched. I had the brisket and smoked sausage plate lunch with a Big Red soda - because they have it - along with greens and beans and fried okra. Also the breakfast tacos and burritos are fabulous. For lunch or breakfast this place never disappoints. Bonus - it is on the road to the airport and I have visited after landing and before departing. Last week the passengers on my flight had to endure the tasty aroma of a pound of brisket i brought back to Tennessee. Brisket for lunch and dinner - YES! Support local business - especially this one!

That could be a good thing or not such a good thing. The latter seems to be more true. They do serve Myers Elgin sausage which means they don't make their own sausage here. As for the sides, they do not have any coleslaw, their potato salad tastes as is if it comes from Walmart and their beans are pretty mediocre with no trace of brisket. They do offer some green beans, but they looked unappetizing. I got the $25 three meat plate (it should have been half that price) and it only came with one measly pork rib. The brisket was fairly decent, but the smoke ring was barely discernible and you don't get much. The one rib they gave me was the star of the show on the plate, but like I said, they just give you one rib (and they expect a tip for this). Their barbecue sauce is thick and definitely on the sweet side which may appeal to some but not to all. They do have some soft drinks and iced tea, but no beer. I opted for a cup of water which will cost you 25 cents. They do offer some other options, such as breakfast tacos, catfish, and some other fried items, but they are primarily barbecue oriented. So based on that premise alone, I would scratch this place off your "must try" Texas barbecue list. I hate to run contrary to all those four and five star yelpers, but this place just does not compare to any of the other better barbecue places around. Even Bill Miller bbq is better. I'll let the photos spell out the rest. Atmoshere *, drinks **, ribs ***, brisket **1/2, sides *1/2, overall **1/2.

I was able to stay with him for a time when he moved out to Buck's, there in Buda. Then life threw a wrench at me in 2016 and I had to leave Texas for a while. I got back as quickly as I could, ended up in a little town called Kingsland...and Vic had moved further out, finally settling there in New Braunfels. Now, even for Texas, that's a serious drive. IOW, it's been a long time since I've had any of their marvelous que. A couple weeks ago I had to be in Buda for some business and decided to go the distance and renew my acquaintance with Vic...and his scrumptious food. I'm so glad I did! It was that good! Just like I remembered it! As far as I'm concerned Vic makes the BEST BBQ in all the Austin area. Yes! Better than the big name places that get all the hype. That's just MHO. Each to his own. You don't have to agree with me. One last thing... Vic is passionate about what he does. He puts a lot of love into his cooking. When I was there this time he gave me a new (CARROT based!) sauce he recently created. I TELL YOU WHAT!!! It is all that and a bag of chips! The man is a genius! It's THAT GOOD! And just an FYI to the reviewer who accused Vic of giving out store bought, I've asked him about it and he assured me that all his sauces are fresh made. And I believe him. The only down side I can see now is how far he is from me...but I can't take away stars because of that. Love yah Vic! Love your food!
