She has the most wonderful soups. You can get a half sandwich plus a bowl of soup for a very reasonably priced tasty lunch.

Maria and her crew are always welcoming, quality service and entertaining. It is a place that you can go to on the daily, relax and mentally refresh. There is always some cute, quirky conversations echoing about and boastful laughter sounding off as well. I've been going to this place for 9 years and when I rely on this place to eat their healthy sandwiches and teas on the daily, I've noticed I have the best body shape. You can easily mention to Maria how you are feeling that day or what type of flavors you are wanting, and she can concoct you something special. I rely on that way of ordering than looking at the menu. It's always a sweet delight. Their Monday night pre-order dinners for $9.95 are a great, healthy and hearty alternative to not wanting to cook, eating fast food or dining out. They offer yoga classes and membership as well. They also sponsor and produce the annual Pig Fest the 2nd Sunday of August. Lotus definitely focuses on health, well-being and joy. I highly recommend anyone to give this place a try. read more

So the only reason I came here is because I got wind of a craft show they were hosting and got pretty excited. When I walked up to the building I was trying to read through all of the papers they had taped to the window to see if they had any information. I didn't see any but then again I didn't read everything there was either because a random man walked in and said encouraging, "oh just come inside". So I did. I didn't see any signs of there being a raft show going on so I thought I might have missed it, or came on the wrong day. I wasn't greeted right away, but the lady behind the counter did seem a to be in the middle of something so I grabbed a menu and took a look. While I was looking someone else came after me and I heard the lady behind the counter ask them if they were there for the "vender blender", cute name, and she told them it was in the back. I looked up and asked where exactly, and she told me it was in the studio. Just follow the hall to the back. I was relieved I didn't miss it... until I went back there. There honestly wasn't anything for me there. The one type of craft I was really into was paper craft and the offerings were... well they looked like someone sweat shopped out their third grade class to make a few "Christmas cards" that weren't even cards, but rather post cards. I guess they count, just not to me. I did like the wood work/pen work one other vender did, but that's a special occasion type of gift, so I just grabbed his business card for later. After that whole experience, I went back to the counter to give a go to some of their offerings. For wanting to be a healthy type place, the sandwiches didn't seem to thrilling or healthy. Since I was hungry I was really disappointing that nothing was appetizing. They did have a pretty good selection of loose leaf teas and the lady behind the counter seemed to know what she was talking about. For the most part anyways. She asked what I liked the most, and I told her and she had a few good suggestions but didn't have any in stock. I suppose this may be because they carry a small amount of stock at a time so every thing is as fresh as possible. (That's me being optimistic.) She did introduce me to a green rooibios though and it smelled fantastic. I ordered it and when she prepared it for me asked, "you don't take anythin in your tea do you", rather than something more suiting someone who would actually want people to come back question such as, "is there anything you take in your tea?" I get the whole, enjoy tea for what it is concept, but damn, just the way she asked made me feel like I wasn't the type of customer she was looking for. And just to put this out there. I know tea. I LOVE tea. I usually spend a couple hundred dollars on tea annually. And I usually have to mail order my tea or drive an hour or more, so to find this place WAS really exciting at first. Side story, I wanted to order chai, but before I did I wanted to know if they normally burn their milk first or not. I personally like my milk a little burnt because it changes the flavor. Not only do they not brew Chai in a traditional manner, but they don't even brew it with milk, they brew it with water then add flavored creamers. That's just weird to me. I used to work for an Indian man, and would go to their house all of the time to hang out with his lonely house wife. She got a friend I got awesome tea. Adding creamer isn't how she made it. Just saying. Honestly, this place is a great concept, just poorly executed. I used to go to yoga at least once a week so I look forward to seeing how that goes, maybe they'll earn more stars. read more

As a local, I love the small-town feel to this shop. It's small and nothing is uniform, and you can chat with the friendly lady behind the counter while she brews your tea. Even packed, she manages to make you feel special. The atmosphere encourages smiles and chatting. Her tea collection is fabulous. She can also do blends on request. Lotus is a great place for a low key lunch! Maria has a Great selection of loose leaf teas - I don't even pick my teas anymore I let the staff choose! Diverse conversation mixed with "yoga" themed sandwiches provide a relaxed "cafe" environment that whirls away the hours in no time. Their yoga classes cater to a variety of beginner to intermediate practicers- no yoga nazis here! After fours years, I've always left the establishment feeling refreshed regardless of how I felt coming in. read more

Excellent yoga instructors!!! And I mean excellent, I've been to other studios and these guys (I mean the 2 co owners) really teach you how to breathe and proper form. They have classes almost everyday and sometimes have tai chi and zumba. Tea bar is also fun to hang out. They also serve sandwiches. Really nice owners, you feel like family. read more

In the beginning this was a great place to grab a delicious sandwich and relax. Eventually I found that the quality of meat & cheese went down drastically on the sandwich. It went from tasting like it was from the deli counter to tasting like those cheap packets with meat for .90 cents. The cheese used to taste like a real slice of cheese from the deli and now it tastes like the ones in the plastic wrap. I thought it was a one time occurrence but I went back one more time after that two weeks later and sadly saw that not only was the quality still poor... but there was barely any meat on my sandwich. Maybe two thin slices of meat and one piece of cheese, you could barely taste the meat. For 5-6 dollars for a sandwich, the quality should not go down. I also have seen special treatment given to new customers. I noticed many times going to Lotus that the regular customers who already ordered their meal were left sitting there for 30 minutes because new people came in and they wanted to "charm" them and get them their food first. Very unprofessional and in the beginning you feel like family... but eventually I started to feel like they were ones that would talk about people behind their back. As far as the yoga studio goes, I can't say because I never took a class but my girlfriend went to a class at Lotus and said it was so badly done that she went only once and decided to drive 20 minutes to go to one in Coupeville instead. read more

Love this shop. They offer yoga classes 7 days a week so there is sure to be a class that will fit your experience level. And the tea shop is awesome!!
