    Tea Room
    M.Tamik O.

Absolutely adorable, total gem in Mount Vernon. Scones were delicious, nice selection of teas, lovely atmosphere.

    Entrance

This is such a beautiful and unique experience that everyone must try!! I was so beyond happy that they have vegan options that were DELICIOUS! I was blown away with every aspect. The atmosphere is whimsical, the food is creative and beyond delicious, the tea options are out of this world. I hope one day I can return. They are so accommodating to all dietary restrictions including GF! They also hold special events which look like so much. I was only visiting for a weekend, but if I lived close I would go all the time.

    Lounge

Wonderfully whimsical An elevator takes you up the the tea room and lounge. They did a great job decorating and making you feel like you've been transported. There are touches out wonderland throughout. I love that they let you smell the tea leaves before selecting a pot. They also steep the tea and remove the leaves so you don't have to worry about having an over steeped bitter cup of tea. The tea ware was cute and I was a big fan of the tiny silverware. The food tiers were all tasty. I liked having 2 different scones. I was also surprised by how much I enjoyed the egg salad sandwich. We will have to come back with a larger party to experience the private wonderland room.

White Branches is an *experience* ! This utterly charming tea house has limited hours, so be sure to check their website, but definitely plan your day around a visit. Or, better yet, make a reservation for a special lunch or afternoon tea in the secret room. When you arrive at the address, you'll take the elevator to the second floor, where you step into an absolute visual feast from floor to ceiling. Eight foot tall golden giraffe chandelier? Yes! Secret room accessed by pulling the "hand"le sticking out of a hedge? Why not! A three-dimensional wall of owls? Of course. Whimsy and unexpected delights at every turn. You could spend all day just exploring the space, but make sure you take time for tea. Their house blend is delicious, served in teapots and vintage china. We sampled the fruit dish, cucumber sandwiches, chicken salad, and fresh (warm out of the oven!) peach scones, and every bite was delicious. The scones were warm, perfectly peachy, and not too sweet. The chicken salad was herby and fabulous. The cucumber sandwiches were crisp and nicely accented with dill butter. This place would be perfect for a child's tea party, or a ladies lunch or special birthday. They also have private meeting rooms, and a couple of stage areas for performances and events. Matthew (owner) and staff were gracious and accommodating. Overall, this place gets an enthusiastic A+ for the fun and funky factor, the ambiance, the food/tea, and the staff.

    Even the bathrooms are decorated.

Wonderfully decorated place for high tea. This was the perfect addition to our day trip visiting the tulip fields. Everything tasted great and I particularly enjoyed the scone. The texture was a cross between a traditional scone and a crumpet.

Standard tea set with small pot of tea. Each tray served 2 people.

This is the most amazing tea room I have ever been to. It was like stepping into a Vegas show. Every detail was so specific and perfect for the ambience. It was cozy and whimsical. The hosts were so welcoming. Matthew gave us a tour of the cabaret and theater which hosts special events. I would love to have my next big event here. Prices were comparable to other places but the decor and ambience were leagues above all the others. I had the standard tea set and it was delicious and fresh. Plenty of food per person to be full. The Crème de La Earl tea was so fragrant. I usually don't like London Fog tea but this one was really nice. I will definitely be returning soon. So glad I found this place.

I made a special trip from Tacoma to see this, unfortunately I didn't have anyone to join me BUT solo-dining is no big deal! :) I wish I lived closer so that I could come visit more often, especially for their events. The elevator lobby is one of the coolest I've seen, truly impressive and really adds to the curiosity leading up to what awaits you. If ever there was a place where one could go to be lost and freely daydream, this would be the place. Everything is so well-decorated, opulent, and displayed, nothing seems out of place or just thrown together. It's beautifully designed and while nothing is matching, it doesn't appear to be chaotic or carelessly thrown together. I think the lights in the darkly decorated spaces should be a little less bright to have some ambiance added but the spaces weren't actively being used so for showcasing purposes, I get it. This is a multi-purpose space with a separate dining area but also a mini-stage with cabaret and gifts as well as an in-the-works theatre. My tea experience is the only thing I'd not give a 5 star on, It's a solid 4.5. Everything tasted homemade but it unfortunately didn't taste overly fresh. The sandwiches seemed unusually tiny and were cut a bit strangely. Still, the flavors were good and I'd certainly come for the tea service again. The scones and tea were delicious, I had their house tea and had mine with milk and sugar. It was perfection. Service was prompt and cordial. The owner Matthew is positively delightful. The dining room was laid out nicely though I could see if they were a full-house it would be quite cramped. There were children dining nearby me and it would seem they do offer a special hot chocolate and maybe even a children's tea set.

    Beautiful table setting.

The tea room has been here for several enjoyable years but it has moved to a whole new level with the new owner, Matthew White. He has taken over the whole top floor of the building and each area has a specific wonderful venue opening there...very theatrical in aspect and should be a great deal of fun. It looks sleek and very upscale. The tea was very good and the time spent with Matthew getting the grand tour and all the wonderful ins and outs was great fun. Thanks for spending that time with us. My granddaughter and I will be back very soon.

Truly truly adored this place! Found on Yelp when looking for a tearoom to bring the girlfriends, and found the website intriguing. From the moment you take the elevator up to the second floor of the Old Town Grainery Bldg in Mount Vernon, your eyes will be enthralled and delighted with how Matthew White has created this sumptuously decorated space with Tea Room and theatres. The staff was friendly , kind and prompt. We thoroughly enjoyed our high tea here; I only wish I lived closer to regularly drop in for the Cabaret or Paint and Sip events, etc! Bravo!

Love this place! We came here to celebrate my daughter's birthday and everyone was so nice and welcoming. We had a personal tour from Matthew, one of the owners. We enjoyed seeing the unique rooms and secret doorways. The earl grey tea they served was delicious. My husband is usually not a fan of tea, but he enjoyed their tea that we bought some to take home. The food was delicious. My kids had hot chocolate with theirs and it came with a chocolate filled marshmallow. They were in heaven. If you're ever in the Mt. Vernon area definitely check this place out. Service was outstanding!

The different dining areas, the settings..all were so beautiful and you even got to pick your own cup and saucer. Everything was delicious from the kale salad to the mini chocolate cupcake and you could see how much time and care was taken with the preparation. My only suggestion would be instead of a half of a large croissant to have two many croissants which fit more in the scheme of the t-selections. Cream scones melted in your mouth and just fell apart and they have their mix for sale! Clotted cream, lemon curd, raspberry preserve, all were there for the scones. My only suggestion would be instead of a half large croissant, have two mini croissants which fit more in the scheme of the tea selections on the tiered stand. If you haven't, go! It's a no for me, dawg…read more I really wanted to like this place because we don't have any real boba shops around. So I was excited to support. But if you think this is boba tea, I'm sorry.. you've been lied to. My boyfriend and I ordered the PP Tea (Peach Passionfruit... and yes, the name is odd) 50% less sweet. Oh boy.. The drink tasted aggressively chemically and syrupy. Not sweet-cute. Not refreshing. More like melted Jolly Rancher with a splash of Red 40. I also asked about ingredients because of dietary restrictions, and the cashier (she was young) couldn't really answer basic questions about what was in the drinks/toppings. If you have allergies or restrictions, that's something to keep in mind. I wanted this to be good soooo bad. I love seeing more diversity in food/drink options here. But this just wasn't it. Hopefully they improve. But for now I'll stick to making the drive out of town for my boba fix. rip Edit after owner response: For context, I did order 50% sweetness. The issue wasn't that it was "sweet" it tasted artificial. I appreciate the acknowledgment about staff training regarding ingredients. That part matters.

"Driving through rural neighborhoods of Washington can be daunting without a sense of time, space, and phone service. Thick, limitless evergreen forests occluding the beacon from the highest of cell towers, miles and many rows farmland, and the occasional $6/gallon gas station. The eyes sore quickly at the sight of an infinite road marked with faded paint and tunneled by lush, beautiful greenery, a mirage practically teasing your senses with a taste of something familiar. But if you're lucky, you just might stumble across an oasis. The Poke Oasis, in fact. Your eyes have not deceived you, and you did indeed reach that shimmering pool of life waiting for you in none other than Burlington, WA. If I could go back and relive the moment they asked me "what can I get you?" and prepared the most exhilarating, invigorating, electrifying plate of sustenance that may have ever tickled my tastebuds. I'd sell my left kidney for that... Anyways. For you movie lovers out there, especially you little rascals who can't resist a bite of the forbidden fruit, who walk on the edge of desire and disaster...this bowl has just the thrill you seek. If your will is strong, your stomach stronger, and you like a little danger, you just might make it into the theater with your poke. I, for one, relished my delightful bowl of poke whilst singing along to Hadestown, furiously devouring each bite and unabashedly reciting every bit of dialogue until the angry Karen two rows in front of me gave me the "look." She doesn't get it. But I know you will. Anyone who dares walk through those doors must be prepared to have their life altered, their heart changed, their soul transcended.
