I was visiting the area and attended over the lunch hour this past weekend. Hands down one of the…read moreworst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. The servers were incredibly kind and friendly, but the restaurant owner was a different story. We had a yummy basket of fries and a nice chat with our server. After receiving our pizza, both myself and my friend thought that the pizza tasted and smelled of cigarettes. The sauce was very acidic and chunky, and overall unpleasant to eat. We each tried one slice, I couldn't finish mine- before deciding that we really couldn't enjoy it. We let our server know as much and offered to pay for a half pizza/kids pizza (still paying as expected for the rest of our food/drinks), and he said that he would have to ask his supervisor about our request. When "JP" came out, it was clear he had been drinking. He became argumentative quickly- claiming that we just didn't understand how oven fired pizza was supposed to taste, that we were clearly trying to dine and dash, and eventually told us to just "see what happens" and to not pay and leave. He took a photo of us which we asked him to delete (he didn't- he posted us on the business Facebook page- see attached, I've removed my friend's face) and told us he could do "anything he wants" since he was the owner. In all of the breath he spent yelling at us, he could have offered a better solution, or just kindly told us there was nothing he could do. I asked the server if we could just pay and move on- he told us it was fine/on the house, and it seemed like dealing with a drunk for a boss wasn't out of the ordinary. I am sorry to see this kind of unprofessional behavior from someone who claims to have been in the restaurant industry over 30 years. Save your time and the headache and go to Meza or Three Fingered Jack's. We had an excellent experience and enjoyed the food immensely at both locations.

It was far from "soft" in terms of flavor. The pork ribs were tasty and tender. The owners were there as the wait staff refined their serving skills. What a great bunch of people! They joked with us and talked about the history of over 50 years of serving the community great eats and a tradition of fine wines. I read up on the history of this place and was pleased to find out that all grapes come from the Okanogan Valley, and the winery is completely local. They make small batches and the product is just so good. They work with the local co-op of fruit folks called Golddiggers (hah!) and it is really a community affair. This is probably the nicest fixture on all of Main St. (Or really for most of highway 97!) Need a cork container? They have you covered. Aerator? Check. Cheese plate with cheese knife? Oh yes!
