Wine tasting

Great local winery tasting room with a nice outdoor seating area. The tasting was completely free, but we ended up buying a bottle. The service was fantastic and they give you plenty of time and space to enjoy the wine at your own pace. Their outdoor seating area is dog friendly and party shaded.

Oh Winthrop! And this lost river! Everything in Wintrhop is minimal. One winery in town! One bar! One diner! One Mexican spot. One Brewery! And viola! One wineryyyyyyyyy! Oh and January is magic time. It is SO WHITE! So pretty! So magical! What else can one do but drink wine to warm up?? I mean! :D So surprise! I love wine! Italian wine, California wine, Washington wine! Even portugese wine! Cheaper than water that one. But yes, the wine scene here was just like this town. So laid back! Oh yea...the tasting is freeeeeeeeee! Did ya know? I didn't know. I didn't care how much it cost! Didn't even ask. I came, I saw, I spoke to the staff! I fed the puppy here! And I sipped in the snow covered winery cabin! Magic! For tasting: free tasting that is, you get 8 pours! 4 whites, 3 reds and a dessert wine. The white also included the pinot grigio, sauvignon blanc blend, chardonnay and the ice wine! Such a pretty sweet wine. For red: they are great. Malbec, few special house blends and so on. The dessert wine was tasty. Since it was free tasting, I decided to bring some home. 8 bottles that is :D You can buy their table red in whole food and some other stores. But that's about it. But since I'm here, whyyyy not! Thanks for a beautiful lovely, wine tasting experience! I shall be BACK!

Hung out with the winemaker's som, Liam. Always fun to do a tasting on their cute patio area. Wine is delicious! Highly recommend the Merlot and Community Red, and if you like whites, definitely snag a few bottles of the Pinot Gris! If you're in the Winthrop or Twisp area, don't miss the opportunity to check out Lost River!

This place is awesome. Right outside of Wintrop. It sits next to a great cider place also. They have a great Cab Sav to die for. There winery has a little patio over looking the woods. Super cute. Will definitely go back when we hit Wintrop again!!

After playing in the snow there's nothing better than wine!

Great wine, friendly knowledgeable staff, and they were kind enough to provide water for our puppy. Winner on all fronts. We will be back.

Is this the same winery that was the first stop on the Bites and Booze tour in Seattle?

I was visiting the area and attended over the lunch hour this past weekend. Hands down one of the…read moreworst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. The servers were incredibly kind and friendly, but the restaurant owner was a different story. We had a yummy basket of fries and a nice chat with our server. After receiving our pizza, both myself and my friend thought that the pizza tasted and smelled of cigarettes. The sauce was very acidic and chunky, and overall unpleasant to eat. We each tried one slice, I couldn't finish mine- before deciding that we really couldn't enjoy it. We let our server know as much and offered to pay for a half pizza/kids pizza (still paying as expected for the rest of our food/drinks), and he said that he would have to ask his supervisor about our request. When "JP" came out, it was clear he had been drinking. He became argumentative quickly- claiming that we just didn't understand how oven fired pizza was supposed to taste, that we were clearly trying to dine and dash, and eventually told us to just "see what happens" and to not pay and leave. He took a photo of us which we asked him to delete (he didn't- he posted us on the business Facebook page- see attached, I've removed my friend's face) and told us he could do "anything he wants" since he was the owner. In all of the breath he spent yelling at us, he could have offered a better solution, or just kindly told us there was nothing he could do. I asked the server if we could just pay and move on- he told us it was fine/on the house, and it seemed like dealing with a drunk for a boss wasn't out of the ordinary. I am sorry to see this kind of unprofessional behavior from someone who claims to have been in the restaurant industry over 30 years. Save your time and the headache and go to Meza or Three Fingered Jack's. We had an excellent experience and enjoyed the food immensely at both locations.

My favorite is the exclusive red wine! The views are beautiful, and the atmosphere inside is so toasty, warm, and cozy it's the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Rick was super kind, welcoming, and very informative, which made our visit even better. This winery is very kid and family friendly, the prices are great, and the tastings are always enjoyable. One of the best perks of being a member is getting free tastings anytime you visit, which makes stopping by even more worth it. I also really enjoy their raspberry cider. It wasn't on draft today, but they do feature it on draft during events so definitely come by when you get the chance! Overall, always a great experience.

My wife and I came in earlier in the day for a tasting at the winery and smelled the amazing goodness of smoked meat in the air. They invited us to come back later for their "soft opening." It was far from "soft" in terms of flavor. The pork ribs were tasty and tender. The owners were there as the wait staff refined their serving skills. What a great bunch of people! They joked with us and talked about the history of over 50 years of serving the community great eats and a tradition of fine wines. Looking for a family atmosphere of great food and drink that is built on tradition and legacy? Look no further than Lake Chelan Winery. Just follow the aroma of smoked goodness.
