Close to the Central Station and many small hotels, this was a gaucho-themed restaurant with beef, pork, fish and chicken entrees. It was oriented to tourists, but really that's who is out in the early evening looking for a meal in the Centrum (central area of Amsterdam) so no surprise. The employees were mostly young ladies of various countries (based on hearing them speak). They were friendly to the customers and efficient. The kitchen wasn't a bit quick, but the food was pretty good, although not outstanding. My wife liked her tomato+mozzarella cheese appetizer, the bread was very tasty with a nice crunchy crust, and my spare ribs with BBQ sauce were actually better than many I've had in the US. Go figure. (I like to try the ribs wherever I travel.) The restaurant seemed clean and well-run, so it was an easy option after we got tired walking past a hundred takeout places and iffy street cafes with various cuisines. I wasn't familiar enough with Euro prices for food to decide things were expensive, but I don't think it was out of line for meat dishes. Overall, this was a decent choice in a very busy city. read more
